Read up on poker variance. Unlikely things can happen in small samples and it's possible to run bad over relatively large samples.
Oh trust me, I understand variance and standard deviation. As I said I've been playing poker for a long time at this point and have weathered my fair share of brutal streaks. What prompted me to post in this thread is a conversation I had in one of my tournaments with someone who was a recreational player and, after seeing a pair over pair over pair AIPF where the lowest pair made quads, started talking about how many times he's seen quads over the past couple weeks (just like me).
Made me curious enough to check and see if anyone was talking about horrific runbad lately in this thread and, lo and behold, two other people are talking about it on this very page.
Also, I played for around an hour today and saw quads two more times, lol. I'd have to check but I believe that makes either 14 or 15 times in the past 3k or so hands, which seems totally normal.
Hey I hope I'm wrong, but I just want to know if anyone else is seeing this type of stuff because I am a naturally paranoid person, and it has served me well thus far in life
