Back working now... Got back w/ 800 chips and a 800/1,600 blinds. Nice.

I truly hope the site comes up with a fair manner to deal with this situation.

It was clear that all tournaments had a handful of players who did NOT disconnect and were able to mercilessly steal blinds for 20-30 minutes. By the time I re-connected, both tournament tables had 8 players sitting out with 5bbs and 1 player with 80bb that was able to stay connected. All these tournaments are continuing to proceed with those lucky non-disconnected players winning all the prizepool money.

I don't blame the players, but I definitely blame the site for not pausing the tournaments during such widespread outages, or not retroactively cancelling/refunded after the issues were over.

To be honest, I'm hoping for more than a simple refund. If those non-disconnected players are allowed to keep that prize money, then the site could at least offer some sort of ICM payout (at the time of disconnection) for those that were disconnected.

Perhaps I was wrong and the Cloudflare outage only affected US based data centers.

I was in the PLO/8 $22 bounty and the $2 PLO bounty. The $22 was ITM and down to like 8 or 9 players. Was short stacked and middle of a hand where I possibly could've doubled. Instead I was booted for like 15 minutes and came back to having busted in like 7th. In the $2 I had a good stack and came back to a decent portion of it gone.

Not sure how they are going to rectify this. Crappy situation. I am abracadabrab on BOL in case Mike enters the chat.

I really wish there was some fix to the mass late reg BS in the Sunday 150k (And I'm sure other tourneys). Turns post late reg into a massive tank fest
07-19-2020 , 07:10 PM
Mike,

Any update on refunds for Friday afternoon's mass disconnections?

A handful of players remained connected on all tournaments and stole the blinds for 30 minutes and blinded down hundreds of disconnected players which allowed these same non-disconnected players to breeze to multiple final tables winning hundreds/thousands of dollars. All this because the site was unwilling to pause or cancel the tournaments at a time where there were massive connectivity issues going on.
07-23-2020 , 12:55 PM
Any word Mike?

It's been a week and BOL has yet to issue any refunds or even acknowledge the issues from last Friday.

As you can see in the posts above, this issue affected a huge % of players. I'm sure this is also apparent by reviewing the tournament logs and seeing that 90% of the fields were disconnected while 10% of the field stole all the chips and breezed to the final tables.

Disheartening to see that the site was unwilling to pause the tournaments (or cancel and refund them), and have yet to issue any refunds/ICM payouts/etc.

Instead the site seems content collecting rake for tournaments without providing a trust-worthy and reliable tournament experience for all players.

The fact that the site allowed those 10% of players to keep all that prizepool money is BAFFLING, especially considering that they have yet address or refund those other 90% of players that paid entry fees and rake and had their stacks blinded down during the mass-disconnections.

Three handed in the $11 nlhe bounty 830am pay start time. $1243 total in the bounty pool but between the three of us remaining less than $200 in bounties on our heads. Is this right? I thought it came out to roughly half the pool remaining because when you knock someone out half their bounty stays on your head. Can someone help me w this? BOLMike? My username is abracadabrab.

Got first place. Hard to tell w how the bounties are credited but got like almost $200 in bounties between knocking out second place and what was on my head. Still seems low compared to what was in the pool

Meant 830 PST start time. BOLMike, can you look into this? I feel I was shorted on the bounty prize pool.

Regarding this, use an example of a 10 player tournament with $10 bounties each. Same situation where you keep 50% of the bounty and the other 50% is added to your head. Let's say one player knocks out 8 players and gets heads-up. $40 of the $100 bounty pool has been removed and pocketed by that player. $40 has been added to his head, making his bounty $50. The other heads-up player has his original $10 on his head. $60 total left in bounties between the two and whoever wins pockets all of that.

So the formula for how much should be left when heads-up is amount of bounty times (x-2), where x = number of players, then divide that by 2. Take that product and add it to (2 times the bounty amount). $10(10-2)= $80. $80/2= $40. $40+(2x$10)= $60.

I am thinking about this right or do I have something wrong? There was like 226 entrants in my tournament w $5.50 bounties. $1243 pool. $5.50(226-2)= $1232. $1232/2= $616. $616+(2x$5.50)= $627.

I have not logged in since last Sunday. Where is the $109 progressive bounty @ 5:00 est? Did they remove it?

I figured out my error in my calculations. Yes, if one player knocks everyone else out my example above would be right. But for a multi table tournament, that is just not going to happen.

It is more a diminishing returns type of situation. Let's say player A knocks out player B. Let's say $10 bounties. Player A pockets $5 and his bounty now becomes $15. Let's say player C knocks out player A. Player C pockets $7.50 and his bounty becomes $17.50. $10 is his original bounty, $5 is half of player A's bounty, and $2.50 is 25% of player B's bounty.

I won a seat to this a couple of nights ago. Tournament never played.

I see there's a 540$ High Roller Bounty now, but where is the 109$/20k? The site awarded me a satellite entry into to a tournament that they removed... So basically just kept the 109$ for themselves. I've had the software open the whole time and the tournament never started, never showed in lobby, etc... While they keep running satellites too it.

Chat and phone support are no help... Please fix the issue and refund my 109$ tournament dollars please!

They need to add this back - plus the 40K GTD, 115$ they had at 6pm EST I believe. Tournament schedule is going backwards it seems which is crazy because I really don't see anything overlaying on Sundays...

I noticed it wasn't there either yesterday when I went looking for it around 5:30 eastern time, i figured it didn't get the minimum amount of players to start ?

Here are their sharkscope stats:

Accounts are listed from the newest to the oldest. Some of them were registered on the same day.

With great probability, all accounts come from the same country, and this is not the United States.

Average buy-ins, Early/Middle/Late outs, AFS, games per day, all of them have the same values.

Some accounts take long breaks and finish/start playing on the same day.

All these 11 accounts were playing last Saturday, March 8th, and everyone simultaneously missed the Sunday Main event on March 9th.

You can check it on Sharkscope.

I believe all accounts are managed by a team of 2-3 people, and they share their pocket cards. This gives them a huge advantage in the ICM stage and beyond.

They play only the most expensive tournaments with a small number of participants and Saturday-Sunday "majors".

They always jump-in during late registration with 25bbs or less, entering exactly 1:30 after the start of the tournament, with a small interval so that they are not immediately seated at the same table.

The best thing for them is when there are three of their accounts at the same table.

I have screen records of their registration process, and the final table when they outplay a fun player together.

I have 1500-2500 hands on them in the database, there are a lot of similar stats there, but the selection is small.

I suggest that all players who have suffered from the actions of this team make an alias from these accounts and send HandHistory to the mail bolcheaters@gmail.com . I think that on a sample of 10k hands for each, their strategy will be the same.

For analysis, I will create a separate database and after the investigation I commit to delete it.

I ask the BOL security department to block these accounts until the circumstances are clarified, in case of proof of their guilt, to keep all funds in their accounts and distribute between the affected players. They won about 500k$

At the moment, all accounts from the “bolcheaters” alias are open for search on Sharkscope.

If they get closed from monitoring after posting this, I propose that this be considered a confession.

I kindly ask everyone who regularly plays tournaments to leave a comment on what he thinks about this.

Hi akashra777,

The tournament did run and had a large overlay, if there is an active ticket it will be credited to TM during the week.

If this has not happened by then, just send me a private message with your email address and account number.

Kind regards

Mike

Hi snapball,

I believe this was looked into and investigated at the time, but please pm with any findings or any further information.

Hello Mike, I'm still waiting for a BOL response pertaining to connectivity issues nearly 2 weeks ago. I emailed support and it took them nearly a week to respond and they simply asked which tournaments I was referring to and then I haven't heard back from them since.

The issues I'm referring to is when huge chunks of the internet went down 2 Friday ago (poker sites, Discord, Coinbase, and other major sites were all affected). During this time, almost everyone on BOL was disconnected yet the site allowed the tournaments to continue running and didn't pause the tournaments nor offer refunds. A few players in various parts of the world were able to stay connected and steal the blinds/antes until they one the tournaments while the rest of us remained disconnected.

I'm beginning to get the impression that the site's official response to this incident is essentially "sucks for you" and they are willing to let all of us lose our buy-ins and ICM shares to the few people who remained connected.
07-28-2020 , 07:46 PM
Thanks for responding Mike.

You know what's super weird. I'm looking at my history and it shows I was in it and finished 8th place. Funny, as I was logged in all day Sunday, and both myself and your chat support Alisha Could not find it in the lobby and it never showed on my side.

I looked deeper into the history, and know I wasn't playing any tables with the players it showed... BUT, it actually shows every one folds hand after hand after hand... nobody is playing anything.

SO, you did run the tournament somewhere in the ether there where nobody had access too it it appears. If you could just refund the 109$ when you have a chance, I'd appreciate it. I do see it now correctly shows for this next Sunday, but was not anywhere in the lobby for last Sunday.

Thanks,

Richard

Thanks for that report Ebobo. Hopefully, warrants some further investigation as I've noticed some odd spots with some of those players as well.

I'll keep a record, and see if I can record any odd hands if I come across them myself.

-LuckyTigre

Any word on this 109$/20k tournament that ran July 19th Mike , where everyone folded the whole time?
