I haven't ever seen another post describing what you are experiencing with this client. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling?

New lobby?
09-19-2019 , 07:20 AM
First thought was this looks nice, but they definitely need to change a few things and add some things.
  • I'm not a fan of the gray text on darker gray background mainly for the table list, but also for some of the other tabs and menus options in the lobby. Maybe a bolder white text would be better?
  • Would be nice to see the tables we're already on highlighted again.
  • A join wait list button from the lobby would be nice.
  • Still wish we could see who is at a table listed in the lobby without having to open the table like we used to be able to.

Was there anything else changed or removed?

+100 to all of these. The only other change I've noticed is that you no longer see the total number of players online.

Maybe the removal of the join table from lobby combats scripting/auto waitlisting?

YES to all of the above. These are essential in my opinion.

I would bet my roll that if you polled the community enough to come to a general consensus of what constitutes the basic and fundamental functions of an online poker lobby, ALL of these would be described as standard, indispensable and treated more like an unalienable component than a useful feature.

I'm a fan of the new look overall and I do give BOL almost all of my online volume, but the lobby NEEDS to preview who's at a table and let us sit/waitlist a table via a button in the lobby. If this to fight scripting (which I assume it is) it is not working and doing more harm via inconvenience and annoyance (It tilted me hard this morning resulting in some plays I really regret, not even kidding! ) than it is good.

Question for Mike: Are the people in charge of deciding on and carrying out updates and changes actual poker players with a poker background or do they have a background and focus on sportsbetting?

The reason I ask is that I can tell there has been a true attempt to improve the player experience and build traffic on the site but some of the changes recently are completely the opposite of what I would expect someone with a poker background to do.

Thanks for pointing that out. I hadn't even noticed. It's not something I normally pay attention to, but I would look at it every now and then.

You can still join the table from the lobby if it's not full or get on a wait list if you open the table. I'm not sure if the removal of the ability to join a wait list from the lobby was intentional or an oversight, but it had no effect on the seat scripting. I observed some of the most obvious seat script users going about their business as usual last night.

I agree that a few of the changes have been a bit undesirable, but it is my opinion that they're going in the right direction overall. It seems like they welcome feedback and are willing to implement some of our suggestions. If more people voice their desire to see changes to certain aspects of the games and client it will likely result in them giving more consideration to the changes we'd like to see.

On this forum there are 2 seating scripts threads, both supporting Chico clients

If security team has even tried to do something, they would have known that they dont scan lobby, they manually open tables....... so tired of this obvious things that any regular understands and fully aware of, but not the "super solid" security team of chico network

I might have been a little harsh in how I worded things but some of the changes have been not only undesirable but also fairly obvious that it would viewed as a negative change from a poker players view. It just seems that weird and arbitrary changes have happened recently.

That's why I posed my question about BOL staff background. I'm genuinely curious. I love the site and will supporting it especially since they are one of the very very few with this much of a 2 way relationship with the players.

Your post was fine. I wasn't trying to detract from your warranted critiques and completely fair question. My apologies if it came across that way. I just feel like even if the decision makers aren't the most hardcore poker players that it feels like they're moving the network in a positive direction and they deserve some props for that every once in a while. Site threads can become a sea of complaints and over-the-top shilling at times. I try to keep it balanced.

I am against seating scripts because I think they're bad for the games overall, but a network is free to allow them if they choose. PokerStars allowed them for a very long time until recently.

My main issue is the conflicting information sent out in that email which stated that seating scripts were prohibited. If they are prohibited then why are there several players still using them on a daily basis? Are these players not getting notices similar to the players who happen to have Pio on their computer? They must not be.

Until that email was posted here there was no indication that seating scripts were prohibited. I'm pretty sure there has been a few companies who have had a seating script for this network on the market for a while now. It's not surprising that those two in the commercial software forum still do if their players are not getting any notices to stop using it.

If there's nothing they're going to do about seating script use then I'd like to see that communicated so that players can choose to use one to compete without fearing a potential suspension for using one. If they are going to be prohibited then that also needs to be communicated similar to the notices players have been getting for Pio.

about VIP points...

I was told by Leo, "The VIP points can be used to buy into the comp point freerolls"

these are the "$10 TM - Comp. Point Freerolls" ($0.08 buyin)

I asked him, "they can ONLY be used for the $10 freerolls?" and responded "yes"

THIS is what the new use for the VIP points are gonna be?? $10 freerolls?? ... you gotta be kidding me BetOnline Mike... seriously??

We've been able to use them on freerolls for awhile now.

Hopefully the news on the new uses for VIP points will be here soon. About 2 months ago Mike said the news was coming "soon", and a couple weeks ago we were upgraded to "very soon". We can only hope we're at "extremely soon" now.

Meanwhile, BetOnline were able to take care of more important matters like updating the client and taking away more features players liked. Now I can't even see more than like 7 damn tables listed in the client even when I max the size. Makes it a hassle trying to manage my tables. Just more changes to harm the honest players and make life easier for the bots/scripters/campers.

The PC client updated automatically to the new version.
Using my Mac, it's still the old version.
Do I need to re-download the Mac client to get the new version?
The Mac side is really twitchy now running the old version.
09-23-2019 , 11:47 AM
I cannot get the tournaments tab to load anymore on mobile where as the others will load fine. My app crashed last week while I was mid-tourney and it has been like this ever since. I tried basically every known quick fix (uninstall, clear cache, restart phone, etc.) I have a Galaxy S7. Anyone else have similar issues recently?

I believe the new Mac Version is being released next week, and the html is being released this week. The recent update was only for the windows version, so it should not have an affect on the Mac version.

What exactly happens with the twitching?

Mike

Mike, would you please answer my PM? Thank you

When will you guys fix the damn time bank? It automatically works most of the time and then randomly doesn't. Ive probably folded 5+ big hands in the last 2 days because i am assuming that my time bank will automatically function like it does most of the time and then it just randomly folds my hand....super frustrating

It's still very playable, just not as smooth as it was.

Buttons were immediately responsive before but now it sometimes takes a second/third click.
Animations were always smooth but now are jittery at times.
Table resizing not as smooth, just kind of snaps around more.

Nothing major, just different than before the update.
Looking forward to the Mac update.

Im pretty sure some of you guys have already dealt with this, I can login into the main site on betonline, but as soon as I try to sign into the poker client it says" username is taken", how is the username taken if im on my account I set up the poker client in? I can not sign in on the poker client, also when I sign in on the main site it says my balance is zero. I've dealt with the same thing with bovada, I sign in and the balance is set to zero.

I guess when you have not been active in awhile I guess they think that gives them the right to just steal your funds, my personal opinion is to just play on global poker, I think, "IMO", they are less likely to pull this ****. Did I contact bovada or betonline? No, They know they stole my funds, why am I going to waste my time with these *******s? My suggestion is if you have money on these sites and you have not been active in awhile just be careful.

Hi Matt,
Sorry to hear about this, but you are welcome to send me your email address and account number and I will take a look into what has happened for you.
Send me a private message with those details.

Kind Regards

Mike

Is there plan to implement stack to BB feature?
Is there some soft cheaper than tabletamer with this feature?
09-29-2019 , 01:58 AM
I don't know of which forum is correct for this question but does anyone know if there is an officially supported hand converter for old hand histories. I want to put them into HEM to study.

I believe the cash game tables you are on are now slightly more bolded than the ones you're not at, but it's not super obvious and is probably going to be hard to distinguish for anybody who doesn't have good eyesight. It's not nearly as bold as the the table you're scrolling over. Could we please get those to be more noticeable? Perhaps a different color to highlight the tables we're on would be better. Green perhaps? Thanks.
