Why would you change something that isn't broken? There was 7-8+ tables of 510 PLO yesterday. I fail to see how this lobby change could be an "improvement".

I doubt this system will improve anything and I already saw one player heavily abuse it
It would be really nice if you'd roll back the changes. If you want to combat bumhunting and seat scripting I do have a few ideas that could improve the quality of the games without hurting the action
Also I am really afraid that once seating scripts release a patch for the update the table clogging will be pretty bad, like on ACR

I liked playing on chico, it was quite nice ecosystem here, but this update ruins the games and gives massive opportunities for cheaters and doesn't encourage honest players

When I get seated at a table with only 2 opponents, it shows all of our old screennames. That sure is a bug.

Yep, this is a huge issue! I'm not sure that I'd expect it to get fixed anytime soon judging by the fact that I mentioned the issue in the software improvement thread here years ago and it has been brought up multiple times and it was never remedied. The new lobby has made it so much worse!


What's the question?

As you can see from my post detailing the feedback about the WPN games grimming becomes more prevalent in this type of environment.

As soon as the seating script developers are able to update their software they will get a larger advantage over the average reg who doesn't wish to battle regs short-handed in high rake games.

As a reg who doesn't wish to break the rules by using a seating script you're now left with either constantly joining and leaving tables manually or battling regs short-handed in a high rake environment and hoping that you don't get grimmed by regs who won't stick around for more than a few hands and who are regularly blocking seats by constantly joining just to leave soon after.

As NINzent said in our Chico Regs Discord, "They've just reduced incentive for regs to play each other and shifted a lot of EV from regs willing to start games to angle shooters/scripters."


Who could have possibly predicted that players would not like this change?

There's probably still going to be times when traffic is not that much of a difference in the short-term, especially at the lower stakes. It's much more of an issue at higher stakes. The problem will become more pronounced over time as regs and recs alike will get tired of the issues this type of environment causes. It has been the trend on other sites that have implemented this type of lobby and I don't expect it to go much differently here.

It's frustrating, but we can only voice our concerns and choose to play elsewhere if we feel our concerns aren't being taken into proper consideration. Not much else we can do.

Well, I'm not an old school chico player but you don't need to be a genius to see they give zero ****s about regs and their wishes/preferences. High rake, no rakeback, dropped affiliate deals, anonymous lobby... I'm pretty sure their most valuable players wouldn't approve any of these changes yet here we are. It's the same cycle for any poker ecosystem out there, people will eventually look for more profitable alternatives and move there but if they stay, it means those hits in form of changes are worth taking

Looks like we lost the ability to take screenshots of the client. I like to grab a screenshot of my FT lobbies, wasn't able to do so with Gyazo or Lightshot. I had my own little virtual trophy room of screenshots going back 3 years of FTs. Kind of annoying to lose that ability.

Chris this is the worst update I've ever seen a poker client push. Literally every single thing about this update sucks. The lobby is terrible, no seeing what games are running, the bb issues, auto-muck issues, audio issues...

Is there a single human being who actually likes anything about this update? It's nothing but negative...I will be leaving BetOnline promptly and not planning to return unless this update is rolled back. Traffic is already going down and, quite frankly, I hope it hits zero.

And the one time me and another reg were sitting on a table and a recreational player joined the table instantly filled, so whatever the update did, it didn't achieve its goal

its so enjoyable sitting at a table and then theres a huge dance of regs joining to see if its a rec. now the 6th seat just get spammed with no rec being able to join and no table opening lol.

Another error I see in the browser version is you cannot mute some sounds.
You either need to mute them all or leave them all, as muting some of them will not work

The poker team was made aware of this issue prior to the recent software release thanks to numerous members in this forum. It was meant to be fixed in the latest upgrade but unfortunately it wasn't so the priority on it has been elevated now.

I should have more information soon regarding an ETA on a permanent fix.

Chico specialists took feedback from this thread about scripters still being able to circumvent the update and decided to shut those mfkers down with lags.

Within one update they've managed to turn one of the most enjoyable poker playing experiences into one of the most obnoxious experiences!

This whole week the client has been extra laggy, but last night was the laggiest I've ever seen the client, literally unplayable after a certain point.

Thousands of dollars in the pot with recreational players and could time out at any moment. You think they're going to be happy to come back to play when they can't act after putting a bunch of money in the pot?

That's in addition to this loathsome game of never ending peek-a-boo and musical chairs that this environment has created between the regs.

A week ago I didn't have these issues. I long for the days when an ocassional grimmer or egregious seating script user were my mine gripes.

Pretty much every site that has made major client updates has resulted in prolonged issues for their players. Sometimes it takes years to rectify the issues. If you look at Ignition/Bovada and the WPN sites their clients are still full of bugs.

Why put your players through that and hurt your own bottom line when a week ago your lobby and software was one of the best in all of online poker? This is new thing is trash!

If you want to trial something like this for a handful of tables sometime during the Summer that's one thing, but to turn your client into a work-in-progress pile of crap when the peak season for poker traffic is approaching is just a terrible idea!

If the goal was to get players to put more volume in on other sites instead of yours then congrats on a job well done!

Please roll back the update ASAP!
