This take is ridiculous. Even tho most people who posted play 200+/500+, i dont see why lobby should be anon at 100 or lower, yet transparent at 200+. Every stake is same except its more money per big blind.

If its too much money for stake X, like high stakes, you may need extra doc verification (chico doesnt have such high stakes), its common practice and makes perfect sense. Everything else seems `i want this so do that`.

My OS is Ubuntu 20.04.3 and I use a Win7 VM with Virtualbox to play ACR, Ignition, Carbon and Intertops.
I played a few freerolls on BOL using the VM until I got a message saying my account was locked.

From the "Betonline Game Integrity Team":
"The use of Virtual Machines and/or any software that specializes in screen-sharing and remote-access is prohibited."

Any idea what is the problem with a VM?

I am able to play in a Chrome browser on Linux just fine so it's not a big
deal at this point.

This would be correct. Unfortunately it would be very difficult to draw a line between the players that will use VM software to get an edge over the games vs the players that won't, so the rule is that the software is not permitted across the board.

Why not just play at Bovada/Ignition if anonymous poker is what someone prefers? It makes me happy that we have some different options that don't have to be the same.

I personally dislike anonymous poker and would hate to see this network go that route. Anonymous tables are the poker equivalent of tee-ball or bumper bowling IMO. It's a completely cold environment over there where you never get to interact with people at the same tables as you. You might as well be playing at a table full of bots that can't communicate aside from a small number of emojis, but somehow several are just programmed very poorly.

Speaking of which, anonymous poker makes it much more difficult to detect game integrity issues from the players' perspective.

If you're in the US and have access to both then why would you choose to play here instead of over there if both are anonymous, if over there is going to be softer on average due to do more strict location restrictions?

Im convinced chico would take massive hit if it went full anonymous, its opposite of what anything FUN poker is about stands for imo.

And no i wouldnt be depressed if they went that route. Would just play elsewhere. As a bunch of recs would as well, i`m very positive.

Trust me, many years taught me not get overly depressed about poker rooms (questionable) decision making. You just need to adjust and move forward, for better options.

I miss pre Black Friday particularly the old Full Tilt and Stars. Clean lobby’s that were easy to navigate with good software. No ridiculous gimmicks. I also don’t remember all these updates or at least not as many. The sites were full and everything ran from multi table sit and go’s to mixed cash games. Its mind blowing how much worse everything has gotten. The player pools obviously has some bearing but the simplicity of it all got lost somewhere. It’s night and day different and not for the good. Depressing

Terrible update. There was an issue with big blind posting on free positions,when you join the table,but it was happening really rarely. And now after this horrible update during short session I posted more then 10 big blinds stright away I join the table.

Unfortunate they did not listen to a single word of their customers. I did not read one positive comment on the planned update and a large amount of the regular players voiced their opinion here, in PMs as well as in the Chico-network Discord.

Given that you do have an active rep here on the forum, perhaps you could share the reasoning of the network to implement these changes when a vast majority of your customers were very openly speaking against it?
