The Requirements are a mixture of all of our games to incorporate all players.
I was pretty confident that after the success last year, this has been in the pipeline since.
We are continuously working on and trying to improve our promotions and bonuses to suit individuals. The 25 days of xmas is an additional promotion just for the festive season.
All the feedback has not gone unnoticed and I have personally given much of it to the main team. Thats why I always encourage you guys to give me as much feedback as possible.
Kind regards

Mike,
I was not playing on this network a year ago, so I cannot speak on how the current promotion was received then. I would be curious to know how you got the impression that it was well-received. My perspective is from someone who plays MTTs full-time across all of the major sites open to US customers, and someone who has been playing or involved with poker for about 15 years now. In my honest opinion, the promotion the Chico Network is currently running is a gimmick--it is not designed to reward the regulars. Correct me if I am wrong, but I feel like the whole reason poker sites run promotions is to give back to the players who put in volume (whether they're winning or losing players). To make money in this promotion (as a player/customer), you have to do 3 things: play cash, play sit and go's, and play Windfalls. If you do these 3 things and meet the requirements of your current promotion, you are then entered into an tournament where you're forced to go all-in. So, the player has no control over what money they make.
Let's look at how competing networks are currently running successful promotions. First, in the US, you have WPN that has a clear cut promotion system: a cash game leaderboard based on rake, and a SNG leaderboard. On top of that, players have the option to earn 27% rakeback or be a part of the network's Elite Benefits program (based on rake). Outside of WPN, you have PokerStars that runs their chest program. Their program is consistent, and doesn't change week-to-week as they have been on BOL.
Another thing I will say is that a player should not have to play 3 different variations of poker to be considered for the site's promotions. There should be promotions geared towards cash game players, sit & go grinders, and MTT players. Or combine sit & go's with MTTs, and do a separate promotion for cash game players. If you have a MTT grinder who rakes thousands and thousands of dollars per year on your site, he should not have to go burn money playing Windfalls. In my opinion, no one should have to play Windfalls to earn the
only promotion currently available. If I wanted to play Windfalls, I'd just go buy some scratch offs. Players who take cash games or tournaments seriously aren't taking time out of their day "grind" Windfalls.
While some people just come into these BOL forums to complain, there are people who are giving valuable feedback and just want to see the site/network do better. If you posted the details of this new promotion you're running in the Promotions thread, you would see that literally all of the feedback you have gotten the past two weeks has been negative. I've also talked to other poker players who play full-time, and they are not happy with the promotions at all. So, it's just hard for me to wrap my head around this current promotion being well-received from many players. But anyway, here are some of the posts from the Promotions thread to further reinforce that I am far from the only person that feels the way I do:

In that time, I've gone from the $5k rake race twice, to the $10k rake race once, to the $30 cash back on $300 raked, to nothing at all this week (that is unless you count the daily challenges for a ticket to the $55 $30k).
Very disappointed in the direction the rewards are going. I play a decent amount and it seems like they're giving the shaft to everyone tbh. All I hear is empty promises and vague offerings that almost seem like a bait and switch type of situation at this point.
I understand there was the cyber attack recently and they were down for a few days. They are still raking huge amounts of $ each day though and all these tactics, along with taking away the VIP points with no warning and no compensation for, all add up to players who may leave the site if this stuff continues.
I personally love the site and the software and don't want to have to consider changing sites, but it might have to come to that if things continue as is.

I wish BOL would have gone with the set up used for the 5k freeroll.

Cash players should have a LB/rake race and MTT player could have their own broken down by ABI. I'm a fan of Chico, but this is pretty juvenile stuff, win avatars next?

This promotion is the stupidest one I've seen yet. I wasted $20 playing the windfalls and sng to get the stupid ticket. This is so gimmicky and lame. I can't imagine any recs would like this. Imo they shouldn't have a complete luck based tournament decide who's going to get more in promo money than others.
