Heads up.
Got a temp ban for using VPN. Been using it a year with no problems.
I'm told I'll be back on in an hour.
I play for chump change. High rollers be careful.
GL guys.

BetOnline RULES & FAQ

I think a lot of players either don't read the rules or just think it's worth it for them to attempt to break the rules until they're admonished. I still get grimmed by regs in a lot of sessions. I still see some seating script users, though less than before.

I haven't signed up in a long time, so I'm not sure what the protocol is these days, but I think new poker players should be presented with the poker rules list and have to sign off and agree that they've read it prior to being allowed to sit.

I obviously think many still wouldn't read it, but it would give them no excuse for not knowing when they do get their account suspended for breaking a rule.

Yep, that's me. I've played on enough defunct sites, I just don't deposit enough to care.

A lot of the guys on here haven't been burned as many times as I have. Hope they do well.

I'm sorry to hear about your poor history with online poker, BuggMann. Hopefully when your account is reinstated you can turn your luck around! I believe BetOnline has made some good improvements over this last year and is well positioned to be a good site to play on for years to come as long as they're willing to dedicate the necessary resources to make sure maintaining game integrity remains a top priority for them.

If your account is permanently banned then why not share your nickname so that people can see if legitimate regs are getting banned for winning too much?

So isn't vpn allowed according to this?
I understand from this that if they decide to review a player and they see that the vpn was used as a tool for screen sharing or anything else they don't permit then it is considered a violation but if the review of the player comes out clean then the use of vpn from this player is perfectly fine.
Am I getting this wrong?
Maybe @BetOnline Mike can clarify this

Seems pretty straightforward to me. Aside from conflating VPN use and screen-sharing use, which is strictly prohibited, your interpretation seems to be correct given what is written there.

Screen-sharing software and virtual machines are strictly prohibited.

VPN use is allowed as long as they don't believe you're using it to circumvent their rules.

Players using a VPN should probably expect that reviews of their account and gameplay will be more likely to occur and potentially inconvenience them more than if they weren't using one.

I'm not much of a fan for allowing VPN usage into poker sites as I think it is one of the most common tools people who attempt to cheat will use, especially when they attempt to return after being banned. I know there's legitimate reasons for using one and I'd be more lenient on use of a VPN from long-time regs who have proven to be legit or from recreational players. That's just my opinion though.

So if that’s their rules then I don’t understand why the guy that posted above got temp banned for using vpn..
Anyway I share your opinion.
I sometimes use vpn to play on another site on the side which I can only play there with vpn. Most of my sessions on BOL are without vpn and I don’t mind getting my account reviewed as I don’t have nothing to hide but would be nice to have the option to occasionally play using vpn so I can have other sites on the side.
Like I said before, I hope Mike can clarify the rules for this.

I can't say for certain, but it seems likely that in his case it was the temporary inconvenience type of temp banned that I mentioned is more likely to occur when using one. Perhaps he was reported by another player for something at the tables or the location his VPN used got him flagged for some reason which led to them asking about the VPN. Only they know why and I doubt they would comment about what it was specifically. He did not mention whether or not they told him that he can't use a VPN going forward.

VPN's are only used for hiding your location I believe.
Players have been permanently banned for using vpns in countries that are not allowed to play on our site.
I understand if you previously had an account with us and have moved countries or changed addresses recently, or have an easily explained legitimate reason(which they conveyed to CS), but why else would anybody need a vpn?
In my eyes its for collusion, to play with other players in the same tables, or multi accounts (various reasons).
Thats why I believe its always checked thoroughly by our security team.
I would suggest if nobody has anything to hide then there is no need to use a VPN.

Ill be happy to help and make notes for players with exceptional circumstances, but please let me know asap.

Kind regards

Mike

Hey Mike,

Some counties (like mine) blocked most of gambling sites(ur site isnt blocked somehow), so u have to use something to get access to.

So some players have to use vpn to get access :\

Thank you and I would presume CS are aware which means you would have a legitimate reason for using one.

Thanks

Hey I'm new to Betonline and couldn't find what the rake% was for the Jackpot Sit N Go's and the Windfall Sit N Go's. The Windfalls says it only pays the million to the $10 ones and doesn't have a payout that I could find for the others. And I tried to figure out the rake with the Jackpots with the payouts I saw but I got 19%, so I'm pretty sure that's not right. Anyways, was hoping someone could clarify what the payouts and probabilities are for those two types of tournaments. Thanks.

I am glad BOL is offering Thanksgiving freerolls again this year, however, am concerned the current requirements will eliminate a lot of players who play everyday from being able to qualify. $10 rake to enter the daily 1ks and $50 for the Sunday $4k freeroll is quite high for most players.

I think the set up used for the 5k exclusive freeroll incentivizes those playing a little lower to grind more than they would have normally. Those mtt grinders playing high enough to qualify will not care much about these. They're more of an afterthought as their schedules are full with higher guarantees. Cash players do not seem to care for mtt freerolls, would rather just have a cash rake race, for the most part.

Again, appreciate BOL offering these, just wish they were geared to their respective player pools differently.

Search engine results can vary from country to country. Especially news oriented searches. No clue what country I had it set on.

As I said, they were to have me back up within the hour, and they did.

No problems or complaints with BOL. Was just giving VPN users a heads up. It's important if you play trnys.

Sorry for any misunderstanding.

My account also got temporarily banned. This is second time this has happened in about a 6 week period. Spoke to customer service who just told me to reset my password, but even after I did that I was still locked out. He said someone would be in contact with me in the next 24 hours to deal with this situation. Not sure what this could be about. I don't play on a VPN and only play on one computer.

Does it actually say you are temp banned?
After the DOS attack, I was shut out of my account.
Solution: I had to start the client by right clicking the icon and running as admin.

Ok as I was just about to send a screenshot, I was now able to get in after updating the client. So strange.

Just kidding. As I just tried sitting in a cash game, I got a message saying "you are forbidden to play"

Do you have any RTA software on your computer, or software outside of PT4/HM3 that you run while playing? My account got flagged for having forbidden software, I deleted it, and haven't had any issues since.

My account has been locked since the ddos attack at tiger gaming.

Have had several discussions with support to get it open but nothing yet so far. Last time they said it has been escalated to the management and made priority to get open, this was about 2 weeks ago and heard nothing.

Any advice what to do with this issue guys? Much appreciated
