I believe my main focus will be the high hand leader board because that transfers into direct cash. Getting into a tournament requires quite a bit of time investment.

The SNG weekly thing I was going to do, but there just is too much requirement to make it into the freeroll. Id be afraid so few will qualify that they will end up cancelling the tournament and all that grinding will have been for nothing.

I won the bad beat jackpot the other day at the boost tables. $66.07 Woot! Good thing my opponent didn't bomb the river, because I would have folded. I wasn't really thinking about the bad beat jackpot either so it was a nice surprise.

Good morning all, I just received this statement.

We understand that there has been some speculation and frustration as to why we chose to modify how Player Points were traded back in August, 2019. Allowing players to buy-in with points to most tournaments seemed to serve its purpose in the past, but as we have grown, we found ourselves in the position where it began to limit our growth potential in terms of tournament offerings.

BetOnline is always looking for ways to offer a better experience to our users, and when it comes to poker, we look to offer our players some of the biggest tournaments online. To continue to grow our prize pools, we chose to reduce the options that accepted Player Points down to one, our Sunday Main Event satellites. Our main goal is that the community as a whole will benefit from the increase in new tournaments and prize pools.

Since then we released a new tournament schedule in September, 2019 that included new structures, more guaranteed tournaments and hundreds of thousands in additional guaranteed prizes every week. Our Sunday $60,000 Main Event has now been increased to $75,000 and we also offer a monthly $100,000 guaranteed tournament on the last Sunday of the month. We’ve also upped our promotional budget to ensure that the liquidity of our poker room is at an all-time high.

To this day, players still have access to points, and while they might feel they have been limited as to how they can use them, we assure you that we will continue to offer additional options in the future.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

Hard to imagine a more disappointing update. 6+ months later they acknowledge our frustration and say they will offer additional options "in the future". They've even abandoned the word soon at this point. Just more proof that VIP points are and will be worthless. The last paragraph is something else.

Mike's just trolling us at this point.

lol what a ******* joke
02-04-2020 , 08:27 PM
It took 6 months to say, "Sorry we took away your way to cash in on VIP points, but our Main Event guarantee has increased by 25%"

Coooooooooooooooooooool
02-05-2020 , 05:21 AM
Ah, so the points are worthless and the rake is bad. But the tourney guarantees are nice. Alright that makes it easy then; play no cash games and only the Sunday Main on BOL, easy enough.
02-05-2020 , 07:01 AM
If the goal is to increase prize pools seems like allowing people to buy directly to the Sunday tournament instead of the satellite would accomplish that. By forcing them to play just the satellite you’re just robbing all the cg regs who can’t be bothered.

The highest raking players with the most points want an option besides being able to enter mtts. Making this change is fine, making this change without notice and not allowing people to cash in points using the previous options is outright theft.

Oh. So BOL took from the cash games to fund the MTTs. That's....wow.

edit: Taking my roll to global or some other site. Great software but man, I can't support this. I'm sorry. Have fun playing KEESHA and SuDDen until the end of time guys.

Its really amazing how systemic bad marketing people/ideas are in the online poker sector.

They all seem to subscribe to the mantra of 'how do we grow our revenue and player base? Let's alienate the existing long term player base, that should do it'.
02-05-2020 , 11:31 AM
I pulled my bankroll off of BOL last month due to the VIP pts debacle. I have over 500,000 vip pts and just checked and the only satellite to the main event your allowed to buy in with vip pts is the $16.50 satty on Saturday and the $1 feeder satty.
Are you going to extend the buy in to the $5 sattys and $11 sattys? If not kind of ridiculous your only use is a satty on Saturday mid day.

+1000 , so agree

That explanation is...wow. But actually i'm surprised we even received an attempt at one.

Am I the only one who experiences random tables disconnecting from the server? Some will still be connected while others won't be. I just lost a huge pot on the boost tables and turned a winning session into a losing one. I'm so ****ing mad right now because it is very -EV getting disconnected like that for no reason. My wifi is doing fine, so I know it isn't on my end.

I've played on BOL since 2012, but I may have to stop just because of this ridiculous problem happening over and over again.

02-06-2020 , 07:27 AM
Yes I get random disconnections at BOL but they usually fix themselves within a minute.

Yes I do as well. And sometimes the client is oddly laggy, like a 2 second delay on actions. And other times as smooth and fast as can be. It is definitely aggravating.

I can imagine it turns a lot of the recreational players off the site.
02-06-2020 , 04:47 PM
I find it really odd to hear multiple people say that since I very rarely have any site related disconnections. I sometimes have an issue where my client just closes, but I'm 99% certain it is related to 3rd party software. I am wire connected and have never used wifi to play here so I can't speak to if that increases disconnect issues.

Totally agree.

You want to end the previous rewards system? Fine. Communicate it to us that everybody needs to use up what they have on those previous uses within a few weeks.

Several cash game regs have several millions of unusable points right now. How will they ever be able to use them up? It seems pretty obvious at this point that the previous value of the points will never be realized again.

It's OK to change your rewards system. It's not OK to change your rewards system without communicating it and then not offering similar value as the previous offerings, especially when it's been communicated that new uses would be coming soon. That's stealing and lying.

So true. It's a huge f*** you to the players who have paid tons in rake to play there.

I agree with everything people are saying but this. Shouldn't matter how many points/rake...everyone should be able to use them for something useful...increase the rate for higher rake players if you want but ANYONE should have a use for them.

Even the crappy WPN rewards you can cash $10 for each milestone...and exchange points for cash...even bottom tier.

I dunno how having no rakeback/rewards is going to increase traffic.
I'm baffled how the site growing = Less perks....should be more.
They already cut out the PKO's/PLO8 tourney's under $22.

I didn’t recommend they increase the rate for certain players. I thought it goes without saying that all players would like options besides what’s being currently offered. Highest raking players with the most points are just being ****ed the hardest.
