I sent him a list of 13 bots I'd noticed from PLO 50 to 200 over the last month. There were a couple more that I forgot to include.
Just played a short session and didn't see any of the old bots apart from 4 who I've noticed today. Hopefully they did actually ban most of them, which would be an incredible step for the players.
I know that overall traffic will probably be way down if the bots are banned, but I encourage BOL to look at the long run. The bots were absolutely crushing the games as well as new players that were sitting down. It was getting to the point where there were 3, 4, and even 5 bots at a single 6-max table. Eventually, once the bots had carved up the games, they would have realized it was pointless playing each other and just stopped playing altogether, leaving PLO dead on the site. At least this way, BOL can start to rebuild a healthy PLO ecosystem that will be able to sustain games for many years to come.
So I hope that BOL will not be too discouraged over the short term outlook, and I congratulate them for being proactive in protecting the integrity of their games. I hope they will remain proactive and vigilant b/c I suspect over the next week or 2 there will be new accounts popping up from the old bot owners.
