Re: BetOnline.ag Poker: Tournament Improvements Thread

I really can't find a logic why you keep removing the $55 and $109 tours when everytime their prizepool is covered..i really can't undestand it..with only one $109 in the schedule you will lose many players and u will lose also most streamers, which means less advertising..
try putting three 109s and five 55s and then tell me if the players play them or not..
Instead of evolving your schedule, you deteriorate it in my humble opinion..
and if u want any suggestion from a player that has played thousands of tours in betonline,u could establish daily tour series(Monster,Mega,Deep Grind,Bounty etc) with all kind of buy-ins,from low buy-ins to $55 and $109..

Re: BetOnline.ag Poker: Tournament Improvements Thread

Hey guys, just wanted to post and say I really miss the old tournaments and structures – and maybe lobby for them to come back? The multiple 55rs, the 109r 6 max daily and the 109r on sunday were all incredible tournaments that I played regularly. Additionally it seems like a lot of tournament structures have been changed to a much shallower structure with extremely long late reg, which I find super frustrating. I still enjoy the site and software but definitely feel like you guys fixed something that wasnt broken with those changes.

Re: BetOnline.ag Poker: Tournament Improvements Thread

just going to be blunt here and say that poker stars PA already has a better PKO schedule than Bet Online. Players have been lobbying for a better pko schedule for quite sometime and clearly the executives at Bet Online could care less. Please poker stars spread to other states ASAP so we can actually play some solid bounty tournaments!!! Bet Online is missing out on such a huge opportunity.. seriously blows my mind.

I agree, came back after 2 months and almost all the
PLO/PLO8 are gone on weekdays. Most of the PKO's are gone. Sad these US sites can't make common sense changes.
Are BOL and WPN competing for the worst sched?

I have vastly reduced my schedule on BOL because of this.

$75k gtd says 12min blind levels in the lobby, but then you pull the tournament lobby itself up and it only has 10 min levels? wtf

I'm seeing 10 minutes in both places in the BetOnline client.

I know that's the point. It says it's a "grind" and has 12 min levels. Then in the lobby itself, you see 10 min.l

damn imgur

if you hover over the tags or whatever in the MAIN TOURNAMENT LOBBY it says 12 min. why would this tournament have 10 min levels when all the other 3pm monster grinds have 12 min?

OK now I understand what you're talking about. I'm not an MTT reg these days. I rarely play them at all. I've never hovered over the MTT tags before. It does in fact say 12 minutes there. So 2 out of 3 places say 10 minutes and 1 place says 12 minutes.

I agree that a Main Event MTT should probably have the longer levels designation.

Re: BetOnline.ag Poker: Tournament Improvements Thread

I only noticed it because the 3 of the 4 deep grinds that start at 4pm est all had lower blinds than the $109 75k. I was so confused.

Yeah, that was definitely disappointing for a main event. I sattied my way in with our "vip points". To play basically a turbo Sunday main event...

Re: BetOnline.ag Poker: Tournament Improvements Thread

you can add either Bounty or Rebuy tours(33,55,109) between the $215 and the $109,as this specific hour is looks empty of tours and your schedule will be continuous and decent

I'd love to have some more action in the earlier schedule. I think you can add even more MTT, maybe some more rebuys or PKOs and they will fill up. Glad to see the site grow!

Re: BetOnline.ag Poker: Tournament Improvements Thread

We want to know how you guys would feel about experimenting with early bird starting stacks:

∑ Tournament early birds get a 10% starting stack boost for buy-in in before tournament start time.
∑ Players that buy-in during late reg will receive standard starting stack.
∑ Which tournament formats do you guys consider this to be feasible?

Let us know any thoughts and ideas please.

Kind Regards

Mike

I like this idea and see it in the lobby but I donít think itís big enough. 3150 compared to 3000 really isnít a difference at the beginning of a tourney with small blinds. Again great idea, just need to tweek the numbers. Iím sure there are some regs here that can help

I think this is a poor idea. It's good that you want to create an envoirment that encourages people to register early to make sure games run, but it should not give an actual advantage over people who register later. What's going to happen is that a lot of people will shy away from registering later if they were on the fence. The amount of people who register earlier will not make up for the people who will decide against re-entering later and will create smaller fields. I say this as well as someone who would benefit and help makes game run quite a bit that are close to cancelling.

Two examples of organizers doing it the right way (rewarding early sign-ups, but not punishing people who register later):

- GGPoker gives Bubble Protection meaning anyone who registers early will get their buy-in back in case they bubble.
- Some live HRs makes it rake free or reduced to people who help start the games.

Re: BetOnline.ag Poker: Tournament Improvements Thread

What about if we reward a bigger starting stack to players who re-enter in a tournament? So you start the tourney with 3k chips… if you bust and re-enter you get 3.2… if you bust again and re-enter you get 3.5 and so on.....

What do you feel about this?

Hey Mike

TBH I dont like those ideas. I think if you change starting stacks some players will always believe they will be threated unfairly. I'd simply prefer to see some more tournaments in general, preferably pko & rebuys. I will play em all

Not a fan of this either. Before you wanted to reward people for registering on time, and now you want to reward people for re-entering. It's a bit hard to figure out what exactly you want to accomplish. If the point is to get bigger fields then revamping the schedule and structures are far more important than any gimmicks imo.

I play on eight sites and I would say Betonline has the worst structure once the money hits. I don't even mind tournaments being fast, but when a "deep" tournament has everyone at the final table sitting with 15bbs I think it's time to reevaluate if it can't be a bit deeper when people are playing for all the money.

Other things I would like to see:

- Add more PKOs to the schedule. There is a huge gap and I bet a demand for this. You already have the software in place for this so there is no excuse not to run them. They are consistently the biggest tournaments on every site that offers them, no reason it wouldn't be the same on Betonline.

- Early schedule could really use some higher stakes tournaments. Everything is just 22/33s early on when there is no reason that a 55fo/109fo/33r or something else couldn't be added. There is even an hour where a 22 and 33 starts at the exact same time which should never happen. They are way too close in price point and you just end up with two diluted tournaments instead of one big one. Instead run a 22 and 109 the same hour so you actually offer something for different customers.

- Also I played a 33 6max today and it did not have antes from the beginning. I assume this is an oversight but please make sure they all have antes from the start. It's both more fun and leads to bigger prizepools.
