Re: BetOnline.ag Poker: Tournament Improvements Thread

Your tournaments are very costly, almost everyone one of them are with rebuys and add-ons! I understand re-enters but rebuys in almost all I really canīt! Itīs harder to make a profit in the longrun, you should have more freezouts than rebuys at least! If you want players to keep coming you should think about it.

I dont mind the rebuys. If you're going to play a $2 rebuy you need to consider it as a $6 MTT. 1 entry, 1 rebuy & 1 addon. If you choose to rebuy multiple times thats your choice but you can also choose to play them as if they were freezeouts with an addon. The re-entry MTT are basically freezeouts. If you bust its usually not worth re-entry because the starting stack is too small in comparison to the blind level.

I care about the longrun and in the longrun I am going to lose more and I can't put volume cause there's no volume in this site unless you play them all and that is not possible to my bankroll.

Need more turbo tournaments. Almost no options when a session is winding down and you dont want to play for 6+ more hours.

Re: BetOnline.ag Poker: Tournament Improvements Thread

Some kind of MTT series would obviously be great, but I think working their way up to bigger and bigger ones is probably a good idea. We saw what happened recently when one promotional MTT led to a massive spike in traffic which caused their servers to overload and made everything running on the network unplayable. I'd be cautious if I was them and make sure that their servers could handle any decent increase in traffic that a big MTT series might cause. It wouldn't be a good look for a bunch of new prospective players to come to the site and experience a bunch of technical/connection issues when the network rarely ever has any. That could leave them with a bad impression of the site.

Re: BetOnline.ag Poker: Tournament Improvements Thread

Hi Guys,

To be honest we obviously have a big series planned for you guys, probably around November.
I was a big advocate for more turbo tournaments and this has already been improved, but we still have work to do.

MCACHitown, AS far as I am aware the dollar insanity fiasco was because of the multi entries and this should not happen again, fingers crossed.

The best news I have for everybody, is that we are currently working on a brand new tournament schedule.

We have been listening and using the micro series as great feedback, and now we want to make our tournament schedule one of the best around.

This way people will play our daily schedule as well as the MTT series.

We are hoping this will be up before the next series.

Also please feel free to flood the forum with suggestions and ideas to help us.

Thanks

Mike

I usually don't play the rebuys, but I just did an noticed the payouts are quite different than the reentry tournaments. Reentries are much flatter. Is there a reason for this?

Re: BetOnline.ag Poker: Tournament Improvements Thread

Mike,

Just some advice for the next tourney series you guys do. If you happen to do a HU event please make it shootout format and no late reg so stacks can be even. When I played the $2.20 HU event during the micro series I got paired with someone who had already knocked out several players so I began the match with a massive chip deficit.

Having a shootout format and no late reg would make things more fair. Cheers

Regarding the Sunday Second Chance, the maximum # of rebuys being 2 is complete nonsense. You are punishing the people who get that tournament going (since it has a minimum player threshold of 30).

Make it unlimited rebuys, like every other rebuy tournament on the site, so the players who get this tournament running aren't at risk of not making the add-on.

This should be a no brainer

^^^ Agree with this post. You want to incentivize people to start the game and build the prizepool.

Told ya the rebuy stuff was -EV in the long run. I think they should re-think that! It is a lot better to add turbos and freezeouts and multyple different formats like shootouts, bounties, progressive KO's, etc, etc... Rebuys are expensive and fish bust quickly.

There's no reason why a tourney should start players 50bb deep. This is the case with the mini dozen at 9:30 PST. Would prefer giving a deeper structure.

Re: BetOnline.ag Poker: Tournament Improvements Thread

I'd like to see some rebuys between 11 dollars and 100 dollars on the schedule outside of the weekend. Nightly I only see the 11 rebuy, the 55 rebuy, and the 100 rebuy. Some 22 and 33 dollar rebuys would be nice. I also would love to see a more expensive 6 max rebuy in the 11 to 22 dollar range. Your 11 buck rebuy tournament is great however it runs till 3 AM eastern time. Unfortunately im located on the east coast, getting tournaments similar to that one to start at an earlier time would be the dream.
Your 16 dollar rebuy sattelite to the 109 doesnt always run, because it doesn't make any sense to players. If you double rebuy and add on you are already in for 45 bucks. If you bust only once you are now in for 75ish. Its too expensive of a tournament for only 109 dollar buy in. A 16 freezeout or maybe 5 dollar rebuy would make more sense for a 109 tourney.
Overall you guys are a great site and I look forward to bigger prize pools and a tournament series.

I agree...they need more freezeout or re entry sattys to the $55s and $109s. The rebuys dont make much sense unless you just decide to single bullet.

Re: BetOnline.ag Poker: Tournament Improvements Thread

I was playing in the $5K bankroll tourment, finished in the top ten, went to look at how much I win and it's zero.

Only the players still playing at level 40 get a share.

With 4 players at level 35, it looks like this is a winner take all "bankroll booster"

Whoop dee doo!

The tourment has ended with just the top 4 players getting cash.

This still needs to get done. Punishing the players who get the tournament running makes no sense.

Re: BetOnline.ag Poker: Tournament Improvements Thread

Just got around to checking this site out, mainly because I'm hungry for some progressive KO mtts. A lot of things look good, but there are a couple of small changes I'd suggest:

- Why does every single MTT have a different structure? Some start with 3k chips, some 5k, some 10k, some start at 15/30 blinds, some 25/50, some 50/100. Some are way too slow early and some are way too fast. Doesn't really make sense. There should be some uniformity and then small adjustments for "deep" games, or "shallow" games.

- 6 max payouts are odd. You shouldn't use a 9 max payout schedule for a 6 max game, they should have their own structure. For example, 9th/8th/7th shouldn't have incremental increases, there should be payjumps @ 36, 30, 24, 18, 12, not the 9 max numbers.

- If it's possible, can you flesh out the mid stakes? It seems like there are $5-20 games and then 50-100 rebuys. That's a big jump. How about $50 freezeouts or reentries? $100 freezeout/reentries? $10-30 rebuys? And obviously some midstakes progressive knockouts would be super popular.
Seems like you are ignoring a ton of prospective players with bankrolls over $200 but under 10k. Also what about some non-nl mtts? PLO8 mtts would probably be very popular, as would PLO ones. PLO/PLO8 prog knockouts would be amazing.

Re: BetOnline.ag Poker: Tournament Improvements Thread

Mike - will players be reimbursed for the server going down tonight? I got disconnected and rebooted my computer, only to be unable to login for 10 straight minutes of trying to log back in. After verifying others were effected, I would've figured the tournaments would be paused or cancelled and players reimbursed. However, I was finally able to log in ~25min later and found my stack dwindled at each of my tables (clearly others players were taking advantage of being able to log in sooner than others).

I've never been impacted by BetOnline server issues before and am not sure if all players were impacted but would love an explanation...

Mike - Any update on when we'll be able to use the VIP points again? It's been almost a month with little to no communication with the player pool as to what the plan is. These comp money free rolls are kind of worthless comparatively.

Yes, whats up with VIP points?

last sunday main 60k Gtd event had ~8000$ overlay, due to players are not not able to buy-in via points anymore!

Mike,

A lot of unanswered questions here, also, the network is down AGAIN, what is causing this and can we expect to be refunded for tournaments that we were in?

Re: BetOnline.ag Poker: Tournament Improvements Thread

I think most people enjoy these 5k stacks on the 6max rebuy tourneys much better than the recently reduced 2k stack per rebuy structures. The new structures have been overlaying and when its 5k stacks they go over the guarantees every time. I dont understand why you guys would change something that wasnt broken?

Also, give us real satellites to the $55 saturday main and the $109 Sunday main. No one wants to play a hyper satellite clearly. They literally never even fill and you guys keep pushing it on us. An $11 or $15 re entry normal blind structure tournament with 20-25 seats garunteed would kill it. You could run one during the day on satuday and in the morning sunday.
