Of course, you're absolutely correct, that behavior is wrong. We discovered this bug earlier today while we were playing. A team member reported it to me over the phone and I would have bet my life that such a thing is not possible within our system. Suffice it to say I was not correct.

This is an egregious bug of the highest order. It has been in our system for a long, long, long while, sitting undiscovered. It has to do with a very peculiar data structure that was configured in an unlikely matter specific to this PnG. The errant line of code, which referenced the wrong value in the data structure, just happened be a mismatch on level 6 only.

The bug has been fixed, however it requires a server update, which we will do around midnight tonight. Until then Level 6 blinds will remain 8/15.

On a side note, we discovered antes weren't being posted due to another table configuration that was created incorrectly. That will get fixed in the ensuing update as well. After that, you'll see antes on level 6 and up.

So I entered a PNG and are given 25 chips. Blinds are 1 and 2. There are 7 players currently. The next lowest player has around 200 with the average around 350. How am I supposed to compete? Am I missing something?

Build your stack. If you lose it then reenter and try again. Everybody starts with the same stack size.

Here's a pro tip for you... when you first start a PnG, your clock starts at 0, but your initial ad gets you your first 25 chips and also sets your clock to the ad cycle, which is currently 6 minutes. You can watch your next ad anywhere within the 6 minute period (you don't have to wait for it to go below 0). So if you were to immediately watch another ad, you'll get another 25 chips (for a total of 50) and an additional 6 min on your ad timer, giving you a hefty buffer until your next ad is required.

Not sure you'll be comfortable with giving this level of detail, but is the beta period duration dependent on how many users play on the site? What I'm getting at here is... are you using ad revenue from the initial batch of players gather enough capital to open the store? Note, I don't think there'd be anything wrong with that - I'd love to see your business model succeed, it would be be brilliant. Kudos and best of luck!

It is dependent on feature set only. We need to get payment processing working plus one or two other features and bug fixes that have cropped up during beta. We're still shooting for end of August.

By the way, the best way to help us ensure success is to refer your friends to play at BUP. We'll give you more coins to spend in our store when they do!

That depends on how you opt to spend them. Have a look at our store to get an idea.

If 100 people entered a tournament (in region 1) the prize pool would be about $20 (20,000 coins). If 10,000 people entered a tournament, we'd expect the prize pool to be around $2,000 (2,000,000 coins). So at the point when we grow to that size, we'll be offering roughly $2,000 freerolls every hour of every day. Imagine what would happen if we hit 100K players!
So the prize pool increases as the tournament progresses because people are watching ads?

The example you give of 100 people = $20 prize pool, are you estimating how long a 100 person tourney would last and using that number to estimate how many ads would be watched in a 100 person tourney?

That's the gist of it, yes. More people, more ads, more ads, more prizes. As we grow, the prizes will as well, automatically and guaranteed. You can actually watch the prize pool grow in real time as you play in SnGs and tournaments. It's a lot of fun to do.

What is your marketing strategy going forward?

It looks like you are relying on word of mouth for the most part. I like this, people trust people who they know. Most poker players have home games of 8-12 people who they can share with, then those people share and the growth becomes exponential.

One thing I didn't see on your website was any social media platforms listed and I think that is definitely a weakness moving forward. People always think that PokerStars is the largest site, but it's not. Zynga Poker is way bigger than Stars, and you cant even actually win money there, only buy play chips. They obviously are tied to Facebook, and the scale they have via that platform is incredible (I believe they get 5-10k downloads per day). Another site is Global Poker. They did a lot of their marketing via social media during their early days and have become a huge player in the US market. They are in the top 3 for sure, and have only been around for 1.5 years.

Even if you don't market via those, it is a great way to stay engaged with your customer. A lot of people you should be trying to reach don't even know what 2+2 is.

You seem like pretty chill dudes just trying to play some poker, so if you old guys need any help getting these setup, lmk

1- Please fix that damn slider! I'm on a Galaxy S9+ and that thing is so small. Try to raise all I can do is tap on the slider until I get close to the amount that I'm trying to wager then hit the + or - buttons which seems hit or miss. Very annoying. 2- I registered for a scheduled tournament. Time to start was <2 minutes. Start time came and instead of automatically joining the game, I had to tap around until I by chance joined the game. 3- Just like on other sites, if a player exits right before his turn to be the button, the button will still be assigned to his empty seat. 4- The ads should be played at the same time for everyone.

I hear ya, I hate that slider too and we are looking at better ways to get people into scheduled tournaments. For #3 I will check into that. #4 We went back on forth on this one, for now remember you can pre watch ad's when there is less then 6 minutes on your timer, like after you fold a hand.

That's odd. In our testing they resize in everything! Which OS are you using?

Surface Pro
Windows 10

When I resize the window the table size is static. So if I make window smaller I can't see parts of the table. If I full screen window the table doesn't max out with it.

Looks a great idea but need more traffic, I've been sat at a level one table for two hours, one guy came in for about 30 seconds then left.

We agree, we'd love to see more traffic too! We're working hard in that regard and we're starting to see some results. Stay tuned!
