Help us craft an October promo! Help us craft an October promo!

09-21-2018 , 02:37 PM
We're starting to put together our October promotions and we'd like your help.

An ideal promotion would be fun, accessible, and encourage participation. We're thinking of doing weekly promos instead of month long. Hit us with your best ideas!

If you want to encourage participation then open the store.

Nah, if there is no store its not worth playing. People want to be able to cashout. why cant you manually cash out players at this point? ARE you not getting paid by your advertisement companies? you should then be able to give what people have earned back to them...

Cash outs start October first. If we fail to open the store by that date we'll be handling cash outs manually (as you suggest) until we do. So... any ideas for the October promo. :-)

Weekly promos is a good idea. Just do most chips, most coins, leap frog, and maybe 1 week you can run a scheduled tourney leader board promo.

Id create a new thread about this

Some type of bounty system in the play and go. Could just try it for one week to see how it goes. Have a graduated "bonus coin" system based on how many coins you win from someone when you felt them. For example, if you are at level 1 and take out someone who has 50 coins, you get a 1 coin bonus. If you knock out a person with 500, then 10 coin bonus. Or something like that.

I like threebangers idea. Also you could run a cash-out promotion where anyone who cashes out 5k or more accumulates coins on the leaderboard instead of 1k or more as we did in august. Mokujin said he liked that idea.
Of course a promotion every 2 weeks or even every week would promote participation.

We could also run a points race where the top 3 daily chip earners in the PnG acquire points on the leaderboard. (say 3 to the days leader, 2 to the runner up, and 1 to the days third place). This would encourage participation because even someone who acquires a chip lead would need to continue to get dealt in to acquire leaderboard points. This months promotion seems to involve avoidance of getting dealt in as a viable strategy at times. Whereas a daily prize allotted to the days biggest winners would attract players rather than discourage them.

haven't played there in weeks, is it completely dead now?

Pretty much.

for your scheduled tournaments, perhaps some sort of progressive prize.

each day some bonus (maybe 5 or 10 thousand coins) goes to whoever has MORE first place finishes than anyone else has that day. if nobody has more first place finishes than anyone else has for the day, then today's prize gets added to tomorrow's prize. and so on.

i wouldn't think you would need to set any kind of minimum field requirements (well, two), or time-of-day restrictions. these sort of things should be self-correcting over a short time.

Except then people would just create 2 accounts and battle themselves heads up all day.

Do we get our weekly contest prizes at the end of the month? I did not get credited (Crookid) for being on the leaderboard for the first week.

As far as contest promos, you should incentivize people who watch X amount of ads. If some1 watches 50 ads. Give them 50c in their account, etc... It helps to reward regs and recs who bust and rebuy in.

I am wondering about this myself, since I am also on the first week October board with 2 cashes (MKUltron). Also the second part is a good idea. I also think the bounty idea would be a good idea with this months prize structure for next months contest. I think bounties should apply to people who enter a play and go with at least 1,000 chips and knock out another player who starts that session with also at least a 1,000 chips. The next week it would be 1,500, after that 2,000, after that 2,500. Of course it would have to be structured dividing up the month but roughly about a week each.

Sorry folks, I was out of town through yesterday night and just got back online this am. I will make the payouts for the first contest this evening.

Just curious how the payouts worked with 11 players in the top 10.

Were the multiple players listed in 4th get 4th place prizes? Did all of the ninth place players get 9th place prizes?

If two players tie for 1st place, do they both get 1st place prizes, or split first place money?

If it's split, then 2nd place would pay higher than 1st. Just wondering what your method is for dividing the prize pool with the high likelihood of multiple ties.

fine. min field 3 then. (or 4. or 5.)

doesn't matter.

1) self correcting: when people see that the field is small for easy money, likely they'll jump in.

2) this sort of problem has always existed, no matter the promotion. any promotion (or contest of any sort) can be abused by people capable and willing to do so.

3) for these stakes... (well, no offense... i like the site and all)
