End of the month house cleaning, January 2019? End of the month house cleaning, January 2019?

02-01-2019 , 02:52 PM
BUP management seems to have done some player house cleaning over the last week or so.

Besides the players that were purged in December, those suspected of chip dumping, multi-accounting, or collusion in January and now missing in action include:
mompirri28
mukujin2
paudidesg2
mompirri27
mompisan35
santhiago

There are also a number of players that AFAIK were not involved in any shady dealings, but have also not been seen much if at all, lately. I 'assume' at least some of them just got tired of trying to fight the cheaters.

There are 965 entries on the PNG leaderboard, although many are duplicates because it shows individually each of the four legitimate stacks every player is entitled to. Sadly though, there are many names that I've never seen playing, who may have joined and left quickly. I wasn't on BUP in October, November and part of December though, so I may have missed quite a few. Sad also are players like threebanger and BuddaJones, who were early, enthusiastic supporters of BUP, and are now gone.

I guess some of this is just the typical of any new poker site, especially one that has a radically different play model. However, now with the latest purge, the site is virtually dead once again, and will have to start rebuilding and retaining a new player base. Thankfully, there are still a few regulars like me left, and hopefully we can be encouraged to stick around.

Assurance that a site is secure and having trust in the integrity of management are absolutely essential to the growth and retention of the player base of any poker site. Just because we don't deposit real money, doesn't mean security can be lax, because there is real money to be won here. Management must be vigilant to quickly identify and suspend accounts that are cheating, in order not to lose any more of the few "regulars" left, as well as to attract and keep new players. There have been some new names showing up lately, so management should do everything possible to encourage them to hang around.

Spending some time reading through the 2+2 archives will show how the exposure of player cheating in the forum, along with management's failure to deal with it, and/or corrupt management practices, have brought many poker sites down in the past, including some that no longer even exist. Just check out the Full Tilt downfall, Ultimate Bet scandal, Lock Poker mismanagement, and the recent ACR bot siege, as examples.

mompisan35 just showed up on BUP. So, I guess I was wrong about some of the suspected problem players being gone, and things are not yet resolved.

Sry.

i agree with Anne, i have also played with and witnessed ALL of the players on her list chip dumping and colluding. im not sure, but this new group seems to also be from south america like the SSCDC from last month as i see them chatting in Spanish in the chat box. maybe they're the same people with new screen names, who knows. hey fellow regs, if u see something shady going on please say something. a united voice is hard to ignore.

Are you still resentful by December?
surpass him man, there is no one left of the famous SSCDC that you love so much

I just hope that this page someday will retaliate for those players like you who throw insults to others

keep playing your game, little crybaby

Not trying to answer for mokujin, but I and many others will probably stay resentful until all chip dumping is eliminated on BUP. The cheating players who are on the site now may not be part of the original SSCDC or may be some of same ones using other names, but they still fit the classification. They speak Spanish and they chip dump.

Caldera, you're not doing yourself any favors if you're trying to earn our trust, by continuing to defend known cheaters.

Bottom line: you are a cheater. End of story.

Hi Annie. I completely agree with you. Sad management has to deal with all this while trying to build their site. I have come to believe in BUP now that I see they are actually doing something about all the cheats that have tried to infiltrate BUP! Best of luck at the tables.

It's just a fact of life in the world of online poker. Players have continually been figuring out new ways to cheat ever since online play began. Where there's money to be won, there's gonna be cheaters.

Management should have been aware that cheating was a certainty before they put the site online, and been prepared to deal with all forms of it swiftly. It seems that they weren't though. What's worse is that every time they finally figure out it's happening again, they continue to be way too slow to take action.

IMO this has been a major factor in BUP's inability to grow, causing severe erosion of the legitimate player base, and discouraging prospective members who otherwise might have joined. In online poker's history, it's well known that too many have been burned by dishonest players as well as dishonest management, so most people tend to steer clear of sites with known security issues.

Well, I don't don't know that I completely believe in them just yet...they've got a ways to go to prove themselves at this point. We've seen this player purging from them before, then either new cheaters or the old ones with new names are right back at it again, and are allowed to hang around long enough to cause severe morale damage to those who are playing honestly. Color me cynical, but I agree with that old saying about, "Fool me once......".

At least, I haven't seen mompisan35 or santhiago on the site in a few days, and mompisan35 wasn't on the leaderboard for Jan Promo Period 3. They appear to be gone for now, so that's a step in the right direction.

Always nice to have someone thinking about you. I've been busy for the last couple months, focusing on an important work project! Should have more time to play again starting in March. Hold it down til I get back!

You and I were at a table with mompisan35 yesterday, but I didn't notice any unusual activity then. Maybe she(?) is going to play fair.

Previously, their only unusual activity was that she/he (?) and santhiago would build their stacks up, individually and/or together, then go to a table together and santhiago would dump his chips to her/him (?). They may still be doing that, although I've not seen it since the last promotion ended. Also, they mostly don't play at the same time as one another these days.

Probably doing the dumping less often, if at all, since there's not as much incentive with no promotion. Or maybe they have gone straight, since her/his/their coins didn't get included in the last promo. I still don't like having them around though, knowing that they clearly cheated during the promotion. Cheaters should be banned once they're caught cheating.....end of story, IMO.

I agree.

What i resorted to in the past was avoid sitting or immediately leaving when i saw either.

Currently, i havent been playing cash anyway though... waiting on management to emerge from the darkness.

I was going to sign up for last nights tourney, but decided not to when i saw their names in the registered players list..haha.

Food for thought - my love of the game will exceed my hate for a player.

Happy Valentines Day to poker, the 2nd great love of my life after my wife.
