First, we're looking to see who can build the biggest stack. End the period with the most chips to win. You can only win once, if you get two entries into the top 10 your lower entry will be ignored, and everyone will scoot up. To participate you have to start from scratch after each contest period begins.

Second, we're continuing the successful 5,000 coin bonus program. Simply play for the specified number of minutes in a given period to win. You can even play two tables at a time (a PNG and a Tournament) to earn the minutes twice as fast! Your play will count provided you're seated at a table and active in the hand when it starts.

A bit of fine print and some tips:

As usual, if a contest ends at midnight on a date, that means that it runs through the entirety of the prior day. For example, a contest ending on midnight December 7 includes all of December 6 but none of December 7.

Does this mean your largest chip stack that you can play with in your account or your largest cashout?

curious about this as well. the rules don't state a need to cash out, yet there is nothing yet listed on the leaderboard.

This is a good promo however it would have been perfect if you would have kept the contests and payouts for who can play the most minutes. Obviously you guys have to shell out more money so raise the 5000 bonus coin threshold to 1500 or 1800 minutes for all 3 periods. Or even remove 5000 bonus from 9pm or 10pm tourney.

Last month I realized there was no way I could compete for the leaderboard so I played the min minutes required for 5000 coin bonus and stopped playing. This month I've already put in a bunch of time because I have a better chance of competing for biggest stack than I do for most time. However, this month, sometime in the middle of the week their are going to be players who realize they can't compete for the top leaderboard prizes so they're going to stop playing once they reach bonus threshold. You need these players to keep playing. idk

Largest chip stack on a single Play And Go entry.

I've defended this site before but I can't do it anymore. I've put a lot of time in for this promo and it's pretty obvious that it's basically become a contest of who can chip dump the best and most efficiently without getting caught.

Two players who I know are chip dumping are BLJ21 and SkinnyB. They don't even try to hide it. I also suspect Joshua Herrick. I know we've been through this before with Joshua and I didn't believe the accusations then but I do now.

But I guess whatever, it's a free poker site so I haven't lost any money, just time. I'm gonna finish up this promo period and then wait and see if you guys can fix this problem before I put any more time into your site. It sucks because I really like your site and when you get all slider and sound bugs fixed its going to be even better.

i'd be surprised and disappointed if joshua was doing it. i enjoy playing with him, as he is one of the more solid players on this site. not saying you're wrong (i haven't seen what you've seen), just hoping you are.

haven't seen blj21 or skinnyb in action enough to have any opinions one way or the other.

I've not once chip dumped BUP chips. I love you guys lets get this server populated. Again cheating a poker table is going to be the last thing I would ever do on this earth I believe. I certainly hope no one is getting cheated. The admins here seem to be actively involved and responsive to checking the log in order in ensure no one is chip dumping. (Reference the august posts).

Has anyone recieved the 5k time bonus for the first December Promo running from Dec 1st to December 10th yet?

How do we get the bonus chips for completing the required amount of play time? Does it automatically get credited to our accounts or do we have to apply or claim somehow or what?

You'll be getting those coins today. We've gotten behind, what with the holidays and some behind the scenes work on secret projects. Look for those coins in your account any time now.

As the "powers that be" are considering future monthly promotions, I just wanted to mention a few things that have come to mind while playing this month.

It appears that it is increasingly difficult to have any sort of "fair" contest which awards prizes for winning the most PNG chips with chip dumping happening, and as long as players who have enough chips to play at higher levels are able to pick and choose which opponents they will or won't play with. Also, the players at the top of the leaderboard hardly if ever seem to play any more, once they've nailed down their spots.

Once you've built your stack to 2k+, it's hard to find opponents. When you do find someone willing to play at a level you can play on with your stack size, often it's only one person, because there aren't that many players with stacks of 2k+. Just this past week though, I have seen a few players with shorter stacks moving up in levels.

However, too often Level 3+ games have to be played heads up. Not only is heads up totally different play-wise and strategy-wise than a ring game, but it's more costly to participate in than multi-player games since you pay a blind every hand. Also, I find that some players refuse to play (or maybe they just refuse to play me ) heads up.

Part of the blame for all these things must be put on the "level" structure, which I know has been discussed previously in another thread, so I won't say anything more about it here. And, yes, as also mentioned before, BUP management is right that these things should get better as more people join the site. In the meantime though, all this stuff I just mentioned pretty much sucks.

Maybe a race to 100k in chips? With certain awards for 5k, 10k, 25k?
