I don't think that would be acceptable to prospective advertisers.

I think you may be right that the top players won't win that much each, on average. It might be 80% of that? Thank you - I'll check my figures later today.

I've changed my figures for ease of calculations, (and I am not saying this will be what will happen - but I think it's a reasonable general indicator).

I've used the common "80/20 rule" as "20% of players will win 80% of the money", and changed down from 1000 players to 625 players playing for 1000 hours each.

Therefore, "250,000 chips per hour means the advertisers are adding $75 per hour into the players' kitty, $75,000 per year" changes to "156,250 chips per hour means the advertisers are adding $46.875 per hour into the players' kitty, $46,875 per year".

That might mean those 625 players win an average of $75 per year each for their 1000 hours each, or an average 7.5 cents per hour each.

Using the 80/20 rule, as above, that might mean the 125 top winners will win an average of 30 cents per hour each, or $300 per year each, and the other 500 players will win an average of $18.75 per year each.

That might mean the top 25 of those 125 winners will win an average of $1200 per year each, and the other 100 will win an average of $75 each.

That might mean the top 5 of those 25 winners will win an average of $4800 per year each, and the other 20 will win an average of $300 each.

That might mean the top winner of those 5 winners will win an average of $19,200 per year, and the other 4 will win an average of $1200 each.

*

Check of 625 players playing for 1000 hours each:

1 player might win $19,200 ave per year. (Top 0.16%)
4 players might win $1,200 ave per year. (Top 0.80%)
20 players might win $300 ave per year. (Top 4.00%)
100 players might win $75 ave per year. (Top 20.00%)
500 players might win $18.75 ave per year.
$19,200 + $4,800 + $6000 + $7,500 + $9,375 = $46,875

e&oe

Ie if you bust and want to rebuy, you have to watch 1 ad.. if you have busted twice in the last 5mins, then 2 ads etc etc.
I shouldn't have to wait until level 2 to feel like I can lose something (potential coins because i have 1000+ chips in stack).. You need to have some sense of lose at level 1..
Wait till the next big blind before you can rebuy.. i don't know..

The overall look and Feel of the site could do with some TLC as it was a bit of a put-off in some areas.

Anyway, good luck

A suggestion for BUP:

To be fairer and more appealing to your existing and potential advertisers, and to give them a better chance of selling to a market that probably isn't too interested in watching ads at the time of their transmission, rather than the ads closing after a few seconds, once the "X" is clicked, why not instead just minimise the ads upon clicking the X, (say, in the centre area of the table; perhaps even draggable to suit each seated player's own preference of placement), but have them play out?

Other advertisers with longer ads might even see this as worthwhile for them, too, whereas, at this time, probably only those who can give out their messages within about 20 seconds at most see much value in paying for them time and again.

The ability to click the [X] and close the ad is particular to our current ad provider, who we're not too fond of. In the long run (or even the short run) they won't be able to sustain our business. However we can't engage with the big advertisers until our traffic increases.

To wit, our current ad provider's SSL cert expired this morning, so we had to disable ads in the interim.

Once we find a correct ad solution, ads will play for their full duration (<25 sec) with no option to close the ad early.

Re: Big Ugly WTF? - Let us know what's broken.

Also, when you get your security right, could you please have a page with a list of all the MAers and third party (or other) program runners please? Especially TwoPlusTwo forum members regardless their post count

Could you also list all programs that were/are being used please? Like for instance, if you were capable enough to identify a program like win.32/odlanor or whatever it is... I think it would serve the community well to release that information as quickly as it is obtained.

Thanks..be back when you get your **** straight..maybe

Also also, who lets employees compete for points against their own client base in a progressive promo??

Thank you for your opinion. Being around the poker world for many years it easy to understand some skepticism when you first try a new site. But since you can't send us anything and we are eager to give players something, its kind of like calling Santa Claus shady because the neighbor kid lied about have a brother and wrote two letters.

As far as employees playing, we played at first to meet and greet new players. Now we have some great ambassador's that do it for us and we are playing much less. All the progressive promo's have leader boards and for the August PnG promo the top employee is Dean with c279 which he did to test the leader board.

Hopefully you do check back with us, I remember seeing you in games and you were a good player.
