It’s been less than one week since we opened our site for beta testing. Our July promotion was a teaser to introduce everyone to Play and Go tournaments. By that measure, it has been a great success!

In August, we want to give more people opportunity to win more prizes in addition to building our poker player base. All month long we will have two tournaments a day with added prizes.

There’s one catch… the amount of coins we add to the tournaments is completely in your hands!

The Attendance Bounty!

Every day in August at 9 pm ET, we will run a Region 1 scheduled tournament with 5,000 coins added to the prize pool on top of the coins generated during the tournament. If the number of entrants in this preliminary tournament sets a new participation record, then we will add 25,000 coins to the Region 1 tournament that immediately follows at 10pm ET. If we fail to reach a new high, then we’ll still add another 5,000 coins to the follow-up tournament.

In total 30,000 coins are potentially up for grabs every day of the month -- nearly 1 million in total. As you might imagine, the tournaments early in the month might have fewer entrants, meaning your chances of winning a large chunk of the prize pool will be quite good. However, to keep that prize money growing, we’ll need more and more players throughout the month.

As soon as the preliminary tournament kicks off, we will announce the follow-up tournament and open it for registration. Be sure and hang around for that tournament, since that’s when you’ll get the bigger payouts – assuming we set those attendance records.

Changes to existing contest and a new contest announcement.

We’ve had our first tournament, it went brilliantly, and we gave out a bunch of coins! But, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, was in the tournament leaving the Play and Go empty, which was no good. We love Play and Go tournaments, we want to keep those jump’n. So we’re going to modify our August promotion. Here’s how.

CHANGING - The August Attendance Bounty Tournaments

We’re still going to do this, but just once a day instead of twice. This will make things easier to manage, maximize participation, and be generally less confusing.

NEW - The August Play and Go Cash Out Contest

Unlike last month, this month we’re going to encourage you to cash out! We’re starting a race to 25,000 coins cashed out. The first ten players to cross that threshold will be rewarded thusly:

A bit of fine print and some tips…

To qualify for this promotion, you must have entered the Play and Go Tournament after Aug 1, 12:00am (midnight) ET. Coins accumulated on entries before this time will not count towards your August total. Put another way: if you were already entered into the Play and Go prior to August, you must cash out and re-enter. (If you don’t have enough chips to cash out, you can get up to 1,000 and cash out or just bust out. Then re-enter.) We have to do this so that last month’s winners don’t just auto-magically win again.

It may be wisest to get to the higher levels and play for bigger stakes, but it might also be a good idea to cash out frequently to stay in the lower levels where there’s more people playing. Your strategy is up to you!

So sorry, we just noticed lots of confusion and misprints in our schedule concerning the time zone. They have been corrected.

All times are Eastern Time, so the tournaments are at 2pm/3pm & 9pm/10pm ET (or 11am/12pm & 6pm/7pm PT).

So for the new snp promo you could also look at it as the first person to accumulate 100k chips?

There's not an exact correlation like that. If you cash out at different levels you can earn various bonuses. Expand the Play and Go for the cash-out values in the right most column.

Bonuses are listed under Payout

This always works for the PnG tourney, but there is an issue for the SNGs and the Scheduled tourneys if your browser window is too narrow. With the browser narrow, those payouts aren't displayed (you can see the headers for payouts further down that page). This has already been reported to support.

HighTech, 202 chips at 1/2. Raises to 200, Garster covers and calls. HighTech folds flop.

When I tell HighTech and Garster to get off the site (first pleasantly, then not so much), the only response was from HighTech:

Not neighborly at all, no. We're working internally on ways to police this and we have plans to add a player reporting system eventually. For now we'll keep an eye out ourselves and wield that ban-hammer as we witness things.

So why when i registed for August 13th promtion, there was 30 people registerd, then when i return i notice only 15 people are registered???

I noticed what mike did as well, from 28 when I registered to 15 at the start of it.

A user who created 21 bogus accounts was registering those accounts in the tournament to inflate the entry count. That is in violation of our terms of service and clearly not within the spirit of fair play. That user's accounts were suspended and those users unregistered from the tournament.
