Re: MPN Online Tournament Feedback Thread

As per a recent post of mine, after a suggestion from here, we have now increased 2 Sunday tournaments:

€22R Sunday Mosh Pit is now €15,000
€110 Mount Olympus is now €10,000

To aid the increase in the Mount Olympus, there are 2 new/modified direct feeder satellites daily from Monday-Saturday:

1) A “half price” Turbo 2R1A 1 Seat Guaranteed, €5.50 Buy-in with €3.30 Rebuys and Addon. “Half price” as the usual set up for this would be €11/€5.50/€5.50. This only needs 3 entries to run, and will hopefully pick up steam. 17:05 GMT (18:05 UK time)
2) A 2 Seat Guaranteed €22 Mega. This replaces the 1 Seat Guaranteed at the same time (18:05 GMT, 19:05 UK time). This also only needs 3 to run. Do not risk late regging this if it starts with the minimum, as registration closes once it’s ITM.

Hopefully both will start each night and maybe get a couple of extra seats!

If you are interested in playing either/both of these, then it would be great if you registered well before they start, so that others follow.

Also increased is the Saturday Mosh Pit to €6,000 and the Saturday Lost Vegas to €1,777. There will be a few more increases over the coming days, but those are the major ones

I think the fact that the MPN schedule is very 're-buy heavy' and that those re-buys are also raked, is a big contributing factor in low player numbers.

I play on other poker sites that offer re-buys, that aren't raked and if I was looking at which site to play on at any given time, I would choose other sites over MPN because of the above.

IMO, you guys are way behind other poker sites in regards to your MTT offerings and the sooner you update your software to be able to offer re-entry MTT's (along with KO/PKO) and reduce your re-buy offerings, the better (especially if you want to increase player numbers).

While I do not see the fee from rebuys being removed, you can always suggest it here:

As per my post just now in the MTTc thread, such tournaments are coming and are being developed currently. I do not have an ETA on when they will be ready

Sunday Break da Bank is now €1,500
Sunday Early Bird Scrooge 1R1A is now €2,500

Would love to get the Daily EB Scrooge up to €2,000. It will be soon if the current numbers continue/grow

You can check out the changes, as well as additions and removals here:

12:00 - I have removed the Carnaval from the Daily Schedule. Its back on on Sundays at the original time with a €1K guarantee

15:00 - Now called the €750 Early Bird Stranger (2R1A) - €22/€11/€11 with 4K start stack - 1K extra for early reg. 5 Min. Mon-Sat

The tournament remains as was for Sundays, but the guarantee has gone from €1,000 up to €1,500 (€1,500 Early Bird Sunday Break Da Bank)

15:30 - 5 min

16:00 - done, now 5 min

16:15 - done

17:30 - I really liked this and was going to put it in until I saw that the TMI starts 30 mins after this. Thoughts on a small change? There is also the €5.50 Revitalising Rebuy at 17:40, so factor that in (also wont be changing the TMI into an R, before its asked)

18:10 - Any reason to change to 8 mins? It has only not run once in the last 26 nights, had an increase from €500 to €600 recently and has just overlayed once (for €15).

18:30 - 5 min

22:00 - 5 min

22:30 - 5 min

23:00 - 4 min

I will revise the minimum numbers over the next few days

As discussed previously, it is painful to run such events, as I am unable to edit anything once I set them (as IT has to configure them each time I make a change)

There is a change coming up, to help deal with this and make it easier. I don’t have any sort of ETA, but I do know that it’s near the top of the priority list. Once this is complete, there will be more bounty tournaments on a regular basis.

However, this has been requested several times in the MTTc thread also. So lets try some, and hope that the guarantees are not too far off

Potential:

€11 Mid afternoon UK time (14:00-16:00) €400 GTD?

€33 Around primetime (17:00-20:00) €1,000 GTD?
€5.50 mini of the above, same structure, times etc €250 GTD?

€22 Nightly (20:00-23:00) €500 GTD?

If you think the above won't work, then come up with some different times/ buy-ins/etc

Anyone who wants to input on this, please give me:

Structures (presuming all freezeouts, but can do whatever)
Levels (6 min / 10 min / other)
Late Reg time
Starting Stacks
Bounty % (presuming 50%)

And to clarify, a €1,000 GTD Bounty would have the bounty % removed from the prizepool (eg if its 50%, then the prizepool would have €500 in it, etc)

These would not be PKO, we do not yet have the functionality

Would look to start these next week after feedback from here

A lot (most) of UCOP sats are not firing in the week days as they were on the weekend. Maybe lower the GTD tokens in the week days to make sure they start at least. Every other site I play, sats are really popular and I want it to be the same on MPN. Formats were working fine last weekend though IIRC.

I would play them all if they actually started.

I can certainly look to lowering the amount of seats given on weekdays (2/3 instead of 5/10). Obviously cannot make other ones lower than 1 seat/ticket.

Serious Q, can you register for them all (or some) before they start, rather than after they start? It really helps!

Nice work Peter once again

14:00 Good job, hopefully this might start to work

15:00 500 11 Turbo Booster 5k + 5k

17:30 Would remove the 5.40pm 300 RR - think this has now died and would go with the mini Bullseye see how it goes

18:10 Just think u will get more players perhaps in this and boost the kitty - but i can see why some want a 12m blind 5 game so maybe leave and see how it goes

20:00 300 PLO Freeze change it to 20:15 so sundays will be the same time as all week - Its Never taking off - could change it to same format as sunday PLO 1R1A only with 6 min blinds - Change the sunday game to 6 min blinds - will get it going - 12 is to long 11 Mon-Fri then 500 1R1A on Sunday

23:30 500 11 Daily Crapper Deepstack 5K 1R 3 mins

I do reg from the start as it goes. I was the only 1 in the lobbies around 7-8pm (what I would consider primetime) and some needed 7 to start. I expect it will get better closer to/during the series and it was really good on the weekend too - some of the 5 token sats were getting top 8 or 9 paid.

20:00 - I made it a turbo, with 6 min blinds and 90 mins late reg. Will see if that helps. If not, will update later next week

23:30 - Alright lets try it. €500 Crazy Booster. 3 min levels, 15 levels late reg, 5K stack, €11/€5.50

Thanks for the additional feedback (and ty for registering). I will leave the tournaments as is for today and also for tomorrow - want to see what happens on Saturday for these. I will replace the 5/10 seaters with 2/3 seaters from Monday (and do until Friday or Saturday depending on the above)

€5.50 satellites should be running frequently today, due the this:

https://mpn.poker/promotions/prima-poker-missions/

26/08/2018: "Play 1 Satellite of at least €5.50"

Hopefully this will result in a lot of seats & tickets for UCOP and the big Sunday tournaments being awarded

Fixed both. Thanks! Unsure why the RRR came back.

Setting up multi blind times can be done, but its messy & confusing and leads to complaints. The tournament would be 4 minute blinds the whole time, but when it goes to 8 minute levels, it would just have 2x 4 minute levels with the same blinds each time. Search for "burst" on the client to see an example

Re: MPN Online Tournament Feedback Thread

Quick note:

Starting today (29th August) we are lowering the minimum amount of players needed for the twice daily Turbo Rebuy Feeder to 3 Seat Mega Feeder to 1, with 1 seat guaranteed. So if just 1 player registers, they get into the €55 3 Seat Mega Feeder to the High Society on Sunday for only €5.50! Win that, and you get automatically registered into our €7,500 High Society (€215 Buy-in).

There is generally €3K up top in the €7.5K High Society!

Tournament Details:

€5.50R
Mon-Sat: Turbo Rebuy Feeder to 3 Seat Mega Feeder @ 17:20 & 20:10 GMT
Sunday: Turbo Rebuy Feeder to 3 Seat Mega Feeder @ 13:12 & 14:20 GMT

The €55 3 Seat Mega Feeder to High Society takes place on Sundays at 16:00 GMT

The €215 High Society is also on Sundays at 19:30 GMT

Good luck all!

€1,000 Terminator (Super Bounty) - €33 BI, 10 min blinds, 12 levels late reg @ 18:30 UK time
€250 Mini Terminator (Super Bounty) - €5.50 BI, 10 min blinds, 12 levels late reg @ 18:30 UK time

€75 Mini Nightly Turbo Super Bounty - €2.20 BI, 6 min blinds, 15 levels late reg @ 21:15 UK time

You will be able to register for the UCOP Bounty tournaments from Sunday. Satellites are currently running for UCOP, starting every few minutes, with a range of buy-ins and formats

I definitely agree with removing the rake for the Rebuys

However I disagree with removing the Rebuy games and/or adding/replacing them with Re-entry. MPN is differentiating itself from most of the other sites but not letting their schedule be overrun with re-enry crap. (No offense intended but if you love re-entry games then play on 888, Party)

Rebuys are good for everyone. For MPN they don't have to risk too much in offering juicy guarantees because Rebuys seldom overlay.

For recreational players it’s a fun and different format especially compared to all the re-entry BS that is on every other site these days

For Regs they offer a significantly better ROI/Hourly especially when compared to re-entry with drawn out late registration times

I don't recall saying that 'Re-buy games should be removed or replaced with re-entry'...

What I said was..."update your software to be able to offer re-entry MTT's (along with KO/PKO) and reduce your re-buy offerings"

Big difference between asking for a game format to be removed/replaced and asking for a game format to be 'reduced' in order to expand what's currently being offered and for the purpose of attracting more players to a struggling network.

The more variety a network offers in the schedule, the more players have to choose from and that results in more players actually seeing something on MPN that entices them to want to play. The more that happens, the more the players already playing on MPN benefit - by way of increased traffic, players crossing over into other games, bigger fields and ultimately bigger GTD's.

I strongly agree with what you said about adding more variety with different formats like PKO just not with re-entry. Rebuys are good for Regs, Recs and the site because they are a fun format, with good ROI/hourly potentially which would seldom overall. Re-entry games have inflated running times because of the absurd late registrations, the games are tougher because Regs will generally be more able to fire multiple bullets which is bad for recreational players and even re-entry games don't offer the security of reaching the gaurentees, especially when compared to other, more successful and IMO better formats like Rebuy, PKO. Mix-Max etc

I strongly agree with what you said about use the variety to attract more players to the site but again not with re-entry games; many players will be attracted to special formats like PKO, Rebuy, Turbo , Mix-Max etc but IMO I don't think many people would either join a site or continue to play on a site just because they have the re-entry format, if anything i believe that it would detract players

I hear what your saying...

As stated in my original post, I just feel that the MPN schedule is very 're-buy heavy' and to me, it feels a bit like re-buys are the main offering. IMO, re-buys should be a part of the schedule for sure but, just not make up the bulk of the games.

I'm certainly not saying that I want to see all re-buys replaced - far from it. I just want to see other options offered to match the large number of games being offered by way of re-buy format. I don't think MPN has the player numbers to be able to add a heap more (different format) games to the schedule currently so, I was just trying to find another way of adjusting things so, players had more variety.

I simply suggested the re-entry format because, I thought it would be a good 'middle ground' between a straight freezeout and a re-buy when it comes to MPN offering that variety and yet, still offering a half decent GTD on an event.

All it comes down to for me is having more variety and not logging into see re-buy, after re-buy, with only the occasional F/O thrown in between.

The way I see it is...Even out the numbers a bit in terms of the spread of game formats being offered, add some KO/PKO, mix-max or whatever else in there (without attaching re-buys to them) and then the MPN schedule will be more attractive to a larger number of players.

Re: MPN Online Tournament Feedback Thread

I think there's a good reason for MPN to be rebuy-heavy now that all other sites have abandoned rebuys (maybe except ipoker) and instead are PKO / re-entry-heavy. Re-entries especially has been criticized largely over the years, but it seems that good old fashioned freezeouts can't keep up old guaranteeds.

And that's the reason why I think there's room for even more rebuys long-term. Of course there can and should be some variety, few PKOs, freezeouts, re-entries, PLOs etc. won't hurt anyone.

It's hard to compete with re-entries and PKOs when Stars ja Party have far larger player base and far larger guaranteeds. No-one gets interested when you have 109 freezeout with 3k guaranteed or 109 re-entry with 5k guaranteed as flagship tournament if other site has like daily 109 50k guaranteed.

Currently MPN dominates her own segment with rebuys and has larger guaranteeds than other sites which has equal player base. Check Unibet for instance, their MTT offering is just pathetic while they have larger player base.

Re: MPN Online Tournament Feedback Thread

Regarding the daily Super Bounty tournaments, we have made the following changes:

All starting stacks are now 5K, instead of 10K - several players said that they were taking too long
The Mini Terminator has a €300 guarantee instead of €250
The nightly turbos have been removed as they did not gain much traction

These new changes start from today, with the €11 Afternoon Super Bounty kicking off now

Im going to say the booster events have been a good success and to really incoporate those into the schedule as means of say 1 rebuy to attract people to the freezes

I think the 8pm should now be a 50 booster same set up with with a 2K early bird and a 4K Guarantee - Be ambitious - lets get it working! As a flagship on the network with the Mosh

Id also like a 20 booster at 5pm 1K booster alongside Lost Vegas witha a 1K guarantee and 8 min blinds. Early Evening Deep 10K - 10K

Re: MPN Online Tournament Feedback Thread

Apologies about the lack of updates regarding our regular schedule. It was a very busy 5 weeks with UCOP, but that is now over and we will go back to regular schedule updates along with requesting more feedback to it!

A couple of tournaments have been removed due to low numbers, including the €22 Warmup Booster. The format was continually overlaying and it would have been pointless to lower the guarantee again

I mentioned previously that I now have the ability to make bounty tournaments with guarantees without having to get the IT/Dev team involved. While it is still somewhat painful, at least I can make adjustments at all hours of the day, and can easily update tournaments more frequently. Our Super Bounty schedule can be found here:

https://mpn.poker/super-bounty-tournaments/

Some new tournaments have been added or updated:

Our €110 Mount Olympus on Sundays returns and will have a €22 15 Seat Mega Feeder to it this time around. These larger field megas proved popular during UCOP and if they continue then we can start to raise the guarantees of the target tournaments. You can satty into the 15 Seat Mega 6 times per day from as little as €2.20 (or €0.50 if you win a flip to the satty) – type in “Mount Olympus” into search to find all related tournaments

We have modified the Terminator (50% Super Bounty) for Sundays. It is now a €55 buy-in with a €4,000 guarantee, still at 17:30 GMT. This is a large increase over the daily €1,000 guarantee with a €33 buy-in. Lets see how the numbers are for this weekend and it will determine how we go forward. There will be satellites running to this and there is currently an €11 5 Seat Mega 140 minutes before the target event begins

Both of the above tournaments are a great way to use up the €110 and €55 tickets won during UCOP that people still have!

A €2.20 Nightly Turbo Super Bounty, with a €75 guarantee, was previously removed from the schedule. I have added this back in but as a rebuy super bounty (50% bounties) with a €200 guarantee. Numbers are much better now for the 2 instances it has been on and if they continue for the next few days the guarantee could go up. The only issue with any rebuy (or booster / 1R1A) bounty tournament is that you do not know how much of a bounty is on the player until you knock them out. It will of course be at least the minimum amount (€1 for this tournament), but the player could essentially have an unlimited amount on them as for each rebuy (and addon) the player gets would add another €1 to the bounty. This will change in future – no ETA on it though

The €600 1R1A @17:10 GMT has gone under a bit of a transformation. It is now 12x 8 minute levels (rather than the previous 8x 12 minute levels). As the blinds will be higher at the end of late registration now, the starting/rebuy chips have been raised to 5K and the addon to 10K (from 3K/3K/6K). It remains a €5.50. Lets see if this stimulates it

Hoping to be able to raise the guarantees in Lost Vegas, Bullseye, Scrooge, Mosh Pit, Jungle Jim & River of Riches over the next couple of weeks
Finally, unsure if they are a user on here, but congrats to “happytowin” who is the first multiple winner of the €250 Deep Bankroll Builder, which is a €3.30 daily freezeout at 18:15 GMT. They have the tournament renamed after them for the next 7 days (or whenever the next person does the same, whichever is shorter). All you need to do to get the tournament renamed after you, is to win it twice in a 30 day period

Please let me know what you would like to see, and we determine what can be implemented

Which is the 8pm tournament? The Deep Fifty-Five?

Potential for the €22 Booster at 5PM, will have a think about it
