Hey everyone - what’s the simplest way to get set up with a stars or party account while out of the country. I’m looking to get a second home out of the states so I can play. What do these sites require? Hopefully not citizenship as I’m not quite ready to leave America. Thanks for any advice on the matter.

ID amd residence, stamped passport showing you are in the country and a local bill/lease, at least for me. YMMV


Save lots of potential grief, as the sites themselves and get it in writing. They could tell different versions.

Just email them and be totally honest, save their response. This way, if someone new is involved, you have proof that you were authorized.

Naturally, you will need to be in a location where it is legal to play. Most definitely, do not act on what I said. I've done it, but who knows what one site will say from one day to the next.

Be as clear as you can with them and they will let you know the rules.

I started playing in homegames on pokerstars. I was playing on my kid's mac but won enough to buy myself a laptap. I'm trying to download the app but the links always take me to WSOP. Does anyone have a direct link to download pokerstars?

A while back i asked for my pokerstars account to be permanently closed. They informed me my account was close and cant be reopened but also i cant have access to a new account.

I would have rather they told me this before closing as i wouldnt have done so. Im just curious is there anyway round this ?

I can't imagine what the point would be to allowing you to close your account permanently, only to let you open a new one. All that accomplishes for them is circumventing their own rule of one account and no name changes. And of course it opens up issues if someone has closed their account for responsible gambling reasons.

Yeah i can agree with what your saying, they only told me that it cant be reopened or make new account until after they closed it which i wouldnt have done if they had informed me sooner, just thought id ask incase there was away

Other people have reported an exchange with PokerStars along these lines:

Player: "Hi, I would like to close my account permanently?"

PokerStars: "Are you sure you want to close your account permanently?"

Player: "Yes, I'm sure."


If this is what happened, then it is difficult to imagine either PokerStars or other players having much sympathy for the idea of your account being reopened. However, you could always just post the emails to and from PokerStars and other people might be able to help.

This thread was removed and i have no idea why with no explanation. Jonathan little stated on twitch that since acr has no gaming license that his attorney said they are illegally running a online poker site that you have to have poker gaming license and he said its why he doesn't have poker site to play on. He even pulled a big book that says its in a law book he was holding. I want to know if that is true or not so I know not to play on it if hes correct. I thought that is what a poker forum especially the legalities of poker site. Now i am going to screen shot this post and see if its removed again. When it comes to legal issues for online poker there is no reason to remove a post on a forum. I want to know what the legalities of this are. I do not know if jonathan is right or wrong on this issue. So its why i am asking on here cause it was a debate in his chat over it.

I heard they use agent to make deposit or withdrawal but they want to take 20% fees for foreign players??. I was wondering if there are better method out there as I see a lot of foreign players on the site and i am sure they are not paying ridiculous 20% transaction fee.

My friend has a pending withdrawal on Pokerstars (UK) and has been asked to provide ID, but his passport has recently expired. Passport renewals are restricted at the moment here because of the bad virus and he has no other ID he can use.

Does anyone know if there's a time limit for verification? I assume the withdrawal will just stay pending for however long it takes but he's worried they'll take his money if he doesn't get it sorted out soon.

Send them a copy of the expired passport and explain renewals are restricted. It may be enough if you include a recent utility bill.

If I open an account with a poker site in a country where they are regulated and licensed and then travel lets say on holiday in a country where they have no licence can I still login and play?? I want to join Party but they have no licence in my country.

Definitely will not work with PartyPoker. You must be a resident, not just physically be in a legal country.

Grey market/unregulated sites offer lots more freedom. PP is very strict on this stuff

They are pretty strict. If the country is not legal or your home nation of residence isn't, it is a no go.
