Poker is not rigged. That doesn't change the fact USA poker players have to expose themselves to lawless environment in order bet.

"People like you..." Cut the insults.
"People like you" are what we call "rigtards".

You shouldn't play online poker. You won't enjoy yourself. We won't enjoy listening to your conspiracy theories.

It really is a win/win if you just go away and find another hobby. Or, as I suggested, confine your rigtard rants to the appropriate thread as I and Bobo Fett have suggested to you.

I get it, i'm just an angry loser who says the company selects who wins their games.

The fact is the current legal state of things allows just such a thing to occur without any possibility of recourse for their American guests.

According to WPN if Mr. average American would like to play cards online he can report to the flogging station in the foreign land.

I tell you what there is the chance WPN is %100 trustworthy. It just feels like a no-win situation for me after hundreds of hours of play and nothing won. I don't like making unfounded claims however I have no other conclusion to make other than what I said in my previous post. Each online poker player in the USA is forced to bet on websites where they do not have legal rights (i.e. they cannot bring the company to accountability in any way). This exposes each USA user to the potential of being defrauded without any method of recourse.

I like playing online cards. It's the only video game to play IMO. It's been that way for a while and I'm someone who makes the effort to put as much into gaming as I can.

I'll keep ACR/BCP installed and play the freerolls and anything further I might qualify for. That's only because it's the video game to play. If I had to estimate my chances of cashing i'd have to look at my previous experience and say, over the next four months, I have close to a %0 chance of cashing. This makes playing cards on ACR/BCP a horrible decision for myself since i'm looking to win at the money games.

Again there is nothing stopping people from treating USA residents like a prisoner in the stocks when they decide to play cards online. Two plus two administration has not stated, five months later, that there has been any "solutions to the issues" discussed.

At this point I cannot, in the interests of a money game player looking to cash, give WPN any more regard than being just the next video game that awards you nothing after it's completed.
You know what? I just spent a good week + picking out a gaming laptop, mouse, headset, keyboard, cooling station, etc on Amazon.com. Total bill was near $1,300. In the end, I received nothing and was only spared of losing my money upfront because I caught that they didn't have the item in stock before they billed me. Basically - the morning of the shipment date had come and it still wasn't shipped. When I called, they told me that certain items weren't currently available (you know it was the laptop) and they couldn't give me a date as to when any of it would arrive. Obviously, I cancelled the order. There are some legitimately great games out there right now but you're simply not going to be able to make as much money at them for anywhere near as little of an investment as you would in online poker. Further, and this is true - The average company's customer service in that industry is right on par with what you get in online poker as a US player. In all reality, online poker's a little more reliable. I know that sounds absolutely insane but we're living in interesting times.

Play live and only make small deposits onto sites until you feel comfortable with them. I will say that WPN is by no means anywhere near as bad as it used to be. You do need to realize that this is probably the toughest site to play on, period. There are reasons for that. To not be able to win at a game 90% don't win at, on the toughest site you can play on, is totally standard. Most people get raped on WPN. You need to really, really work on your game daily if you want to make money in cash games there.

I think the word "rigged" has become too broad a brush. A site not doing anything about bots isn't a site being rigged. A site that allows collusion by players without doing anything about it isn't rigged. A site that has "house players" who work for them and play the game at the same time? That's a rigged site, IMO. Rigging, at it's rawest measure, would be an RNG that isn't random at all. That would be blatant rigging. We're never going to be able to definitively prove anything against any of these sites so basically, we have to play within our means, protect ourselves, and see how things unfold over time. You know live is legit so mixing live/online seems the most productive path to me.

I'ts not rig***ded conspiracy theory to point out that USA poker players have to step outside of any legal protection to place a bet.

I'm thinking it's just you Kahn who wont enjoy such discussion. Speak for yourself. I think it's quite relevant to discuss this in the thread 'Where can USA players can play'.

Again USA players are not able to hold WPN legally accountable because their elected officials deem poker legislation beneath their notice.

If I could please request Mike Haven to delete all of my posts in this thread I would be grateful. Nothing productive will come from this. I will enjoy playing online poker mr. kahn. Sorry for bothering you all, I hope you all enjoy that next game of cards. Please be aware of your legal status.

please delete my posts i'm embarrassed and sorry i'm embarrassed and sorry i'm embarrassed and sorry i'm embarrassed and sorry please delete my posts. Time to go away from life.

Actually, that is called "propping". It is standard practice in live card rooms world wide. Has been for decades. It's actually more prominent in live poker than online these days.

Totally standard. Totally above board because while they may earn an hourly wage and thus "work for them (the card room)", they use their own bankrolls and keep all of their own winnings/absorb all of their own losses.

I’ve had poor eyesight since I was a kid, and usually when I get a yearly check up my vision gets a little worse. However, this year since I’ve started grinding, my vision has gotten much worse than it has normally done in the past over the course of a year. Anyone experience anything similar, or have a fix?

Given the choice between seeing an optometrist or asking strangers on a poker forum, I'd go with the former.

how long should one wait for an answer from support, assuming the case is urgent? (worst case scenario account being compromised)
what would be the reasonable time frame for waiting?

An answer to the question or an acknowledgment of receipt of the query? Can the consequences owing to a delay be rolled back? A Mickey Mouse site or a major? Is there another method of contacting Support?

Hi,

I don't know if this is the right place to ask (mods, feel free to move to appropriate place if needed) but I wondered if anyone knows if you can delete your pocket5s account? I tried contacting pocket5s multiple times but unfortunately they don't respond. I think it's impossible but not entirely sure.

Also, it doesn't have to deleted. Being able to change my alias would also suffice. I just don't want my Pokerstars alias and pocket5s alias being linked to eachother.

I removed my Pokerstars alias from my pocket5s account but somehow when you google my PS alias you still get my pocket5s account as one of the hits. Maybe someone knows how to prevent this?

Thanks

I registered for Pokerstars.es back in the start or middle of July. Upon registering, I uploaded a piece of photo ID and a utility bill. I was contacted shortly afterwards by the Pokerstars.es team informing me my account was locked until my self exclusion on Pokerstars.COM was over in the middle of August. I had self excluded myself to focus on grinding PartyPoker and BetOnline as they were consistantly easy to crush at the cash games and I didn't want to split my roll in a weak moment.

I was completely cool with waiting until my Pokerstars.COM account was resumed as I considered that a fair policy.

When the day rolled around and my Pokerstars.COM account was finished with the self exclusion, I logged in that night to Pokerstars.es to find my account still locked.

I emailed Pokerstars.es support and got a reply 3 days later that my account had been unsuspended. I logged in to find another lock on my account. Again I emailed Pokerstars.es and again I waited 2 days for a reply.

When I got the reply, their support team said I needed to verify my account. I was speechless. I had done this on the very first day I had registered. I was getting frustrated at this runaround.

I resent the exact same pictures of my ID and my utility bill. After another 2 days I finally got a reply that it had been accepted and everything was good to go.

I logged in and again my account is locked.

I email them again, I wait two days, I get a reply that my utility bill picture is over 3 months old and I need to send an updated utility bill.

See, I had sent them the exact documentation I had sent when I first registered to the site back at the start of July because the pictures were on my phone and it was handy to reselect them and send them.

My issue right now is this. I sent them everything they needed on the first day both through email and through the actual client, and if they had simply verified them then we wouldn't be playing email tag like this.

Three seperate times I was told my account was good to go and three seperate times I was lied to.

My deposit I made back in July has been locked for over a month. I am appalled at the customer service I've received. It's truly awful the runaround I've been given on something I took care of on day 1.

After depositing thousands of dollars on Pokerstars.COM and getting nothing but quick customer service and good treatment there, I cannot believe the night and day difference it is going to Pokerstars.es.

At this point I just emailed them to either refund my deposit and close my account or show that they have it in them to treat their players with a little dignity.

At this point I'm content with either option.

If screenshots are needed from you guys to prove how awful this runaround has been, let me know and I'll be glad to upload them.

Just wanted to warn the community before anyone decides to take advantage of the soft playerbase there.

*

Quick correction, checking my emails they got back to me between 24-36 hours each time.

Sorry for the delay in response.

Ideally the former, but at the least the latter if it is taking too much time.
I was talking about Pokerstars and I find it ridiculous that besides the contact form, they only have a twitter account which you can address your concern.
(the live chat is only available if you can login to your account)
Many smaller rooms have far more channels of communication.

I've been falsely accused of vpning and have not heard a response from them for a few days now after submitting photos for verification.
How does one try to escalate the issue to demand a prompt response?
Is there no "consumer protection" type of thing for players?

Literally the 4th time Pokerstars.ES has told me my account was good to go. Are their customer service staffed by a bunch of children?

Stay away from this site guys. Stay far, far away from this site.

I am an optometrist and will try and give you some advice that might be helpful but no guarantee. Get a pair of glasses made specifically for the working distance at your computer monitor so such that it relieves your eyes of having to focus more than they have to. By the way what is your age and how nearsighted are you. Another simple method for myopia control is to have some progressive lenses made which is of no line bifocals and simultaneously use some diluted dilation drops which also has the effect ofKeeping the eyes from accommodating too much. This was all dictated on Siri so I apologize for any errors

So more than a week ago i log onto stars to make a player transfer and I had a message there that said “Your Stars Account has been temporarily restricted pending a routine security investigation. We apologize for this delay...”

So I email support and to my suprise they tell me there was no restriction, nor is there now. The restriction message is still there. I've tried on 3 computers on the Stars client, each time the same message is there. Ive tried to log in to the Webpage version of Cashier on a computer and mobile. Each time the message is there. So at this point im positive its not my hardware unless its all 3 of my computers and mobile phone which the odds of that are astronomical. There have been about 15-20 correspondences with support (every time the reply is from a DIFFERENT person btw) so there is 0 continuity in the conversation. Ive sent log files twice (didnt work). Then i was told that if we cant figure this out manual transfers were a possibility. This was yesterday. So i inquired as to the process of doing that, and today's reply was that they don't do manual transfers for players citing security concerns, which is reasonable of course. But why was I told to begin with that manual transfers were a possibilty? Keep in mind I didn't even ask about that, it was just offered up to me as an option. At this point, its impossible not to laugh at this level of customer service. Calling all Pokerstars reps....

For starters, I would like my case to get assigned to ONE person...when everyone i talk to is only is familiar with the last message I sent.... It's like I'm going in circles. I fully understand why Pokerstars has set up their support like this as I'm sure the overwhelmingly majority of inquires take 1-2 correspondences before theyre settled, but there has to be a better way of dealing with difficult issues like mine considering I've sent 15+ emails and have gotten nowhere.

https://gyazo.com/1050ada43bdf01cb58ae1c6def167e67

here is an image of the restriction message i keep receiving. Again, I've been told no such restriction was on my account, nor is there (supposedly) now. Anyone else have this problem? It only started to happen with the “updated” cashier.

*

Solved. I figured out that the new cashier asked for address confirmation in deposit/withdrawal. Once that was done the “temporary restriction” message in player transfer disappeared.

Hello there,
I have a friend living in brazil and I would take the opportunity to play on ps.com when going there in his house (i plan to stay there months).
Questions are:
1) Is it legal to play online poker for brazilians?
2) Does he have to pay taxes in case of winnings?

Thanks

You should ask PS Support if you can play at his house, and under what terms.

Get it wrong and you could get both you and your friend banned, possibly for good, and your funds confiscated.

He lives in Brazil and doesn't know the answers? Should be quite easy for him to find out. What am I missing? Brazilian players are free to play on any international poker site. Eleven minutes to find that info.

Trying those questions in Google finds, for example:

As per Brazil gambling law Poker is considered as a game of skill, skill-based games are legal world-wide. ... There are no online Poker sites based in Brazil, and operating such a website would likely require a license. Brazilian players are free to play on any international Poker site.
There have been some very aggressive attempts by the government to stop residents from internet gambling but all have been largely unsuccessful. As it stands, gambling in Brazil is widely popular and flourishing despite condemnation from the government. ... The Brazilian government does tax lottery winnings. Both local and foreign winners must pay 30%. With foreign winners, the taxes are deducted at the source while residents must claim winnings on their income tax. Those that win at bingo or at the race track do not need to pay taxes. With internet gambling being illegal, there are obviously no taxes on internet winnings.

*

As one of the booming countries for poker, Brazil is a serious destination for poker players looking for a new life. But you have to know that it is an ultra-conservative country for gambling. Although there are many moves afoot to try to regulate and legalize online gambling (as in the US, it’s the budgetary arguments which might sway things in poker’s direction) it is still a long way off. So, like in Thailand and other places, your online poker career will be ‘unofficial’ and your tax-paying will therefore follow the usual routes of a) not declaring it or b) declaring it as something else. ...
For cash game players (and online players wishing to pay tax of some sort, although obviously from a non-gambling profession) ... You’ll basically be paying a monthly tax bill calculated over a year’s earnings, and the rate varies – with three tax brackets from 0% up to 27.5%.

*

If your friend's style of play suddenly changes, his account may be closed while PS investigates it.
