Was just on there two days ago reading Betonline and Carbon reviews. Arrived there by doing browser search for BOL and pokerscout review was one of the results. Just substituted Merge after that. Just did browser search again and once on pokerscout, used their search feature for Chico and Merge. For what it's worth, they have 0 cash players listed now on Merge, same as 2 nights ago when I was logged in, and 100+ were at all tables.

When I interact with a poker server, they send me my hand cards. However, this should imply that the server knows *all* the people their cards, which means that anyone which has access to this server can cheat by knowing what cards everyone has.

Is this true, or am I missing something here?

That's why they call it gambling son.

I would just stay clear of non reputable sites if you're really worried about it.

Welcome to the forum.

Hi.

I would like a clear answer though. Servers can technically see the cards they deal, so it is theoretically possible - even for reputable sites - to see these cards and therefore cheat?

The software would have to be written, foolishly, in a similar fashion to the way it was for both Cereus sites (Ultimate Bet & Absolute Poker) - with "super user" access available. Presumably, a site might have this back door in place for testing, but there's really no need for it. They don't need to see everyone's cards in real time; they can just as easily detect any issues by examining the hands after they're played out.

So yes, in theory, since their software is dealing out everyone's cards and thus "knows" them, of course that information could be seen by the site operators - IF they code in the ability for them to do so. But they shouldn't be.

Can you be certain that any site isn't doing this? No. If you're concerned, you need to research sites you're considering playing on, and decide whether you trust them and their software. You can also ask them if they have the ability to see hole cards in real time - but of course, you also need to trust their answers for them to have any value to you.

I'm in the US just trying to download PS to observe some highstakes games, but when I try installing I get this:

Maybe this belongs in the computer tech help forum but does anyone know how to make this work?

Won a $215 seat in the Sunday Million this upcoming week on a Spin n Go. Something came up and I can't play. I asked Stars if I could trade for tournament $ or even another tournament not on that day but they won't budge.

I don't have anyone in mind to play on my account that day. Am I out of luck or have any options?

Pokerstars question: I like to play mtt satellites on the side when I grind, and am wondering why SO MANY of them are cancelled right at the moment where they are supposed to start?

It's already hard enough to find satties for MTTs that haven't already started, so why are you doing this, Stars?

Likely because they don't have a minimum number of runners

So I've been playing on a tiny in-browser site this past week, won't mention the name for now. Its a super small start-up site with little reputation and average traffic of about 20-30 people. Don't want to mention too much details.

I've only been playing here a week but I'm currently one of the 'house players' so to speak and I open sit most games that end up running. I've started to get a bit suspicious about the intentions of the people behind the site and I may be paranoid but I'm suspecting that they're using me to take money off fish and may be planning to take my bankroll when I eventually decide to cash it out. Once again this may just all be paranoia but this site has no safeguards and it pays to be safe.

If my suspicions turn out to be true I'm guessing the way they'd do it is change my password or go into my account and transfer/dump my funds in which case the only explanation they really could give me is that I must've gotten hacked. The only people other than me who are able to change my password/transfer my funds is the site owner and the administrator (of which there is only one afaik).

Reason for this post is I need a public forum where my post has a 'date stamp' so in the case that this does happen it doesn't just come off as me being suspicious post-'hack' and supports my accusation that they were planning on scamming me from the get-go and that they don't want winning players taking money off their site.

So I've scanned my computer for viruses (malware/adware) and as of may 1st (today) I have no trojans/keyloggers or anything that could potentially be used as an excuse as to why my funds were lost. I will request to cash-out and follow up here with whether or not it was successful.

It one of these new crypto sites? Or a "normal" online site that takes deposit in USD, etc?

don't want to reveal anything about the site yet no need to tarnish their reputation unless they give me reason to

That's what happens when you have a huge proportion of the player base being crybabies who can't adapt to people not buying in for 100bb in regular games, so they demand those games get changed, but also can't adapt to the deep stack poker that is available (and/or don't think there's as many fish to bumhunt) so don't play that either, and thus the end game is that you have just one variant of boring poker which has been analysed to death and the whole game dies, gjge everyone

What software/script can handle the annoying 'Ok' pop ups when registering for SNGs on Stars? Not satisfied with TN.

I used Neteller and Skrill like ages ago and had no problems. Now I want to use them again for my pokering. Problem is on trustpilot people completely bashing skrill:

Has something changed? Should I be worried using Skril again?

Hey,

I wonder what the time constraint is for 888poker and BetOnline if you double up in a cashgame and want to rejoin with the minimum again. Thanks for your help!

I know at BetOnline it takes a while. It's probably at least an hour.
