Re: WSOP.com Nevada Unofficial thread

WSOP.com stud games are down again and have been for maybe a month. I got an email saying I deserved a refund of $.20. I guess they found something they cannot fix. These games were offline for months last year or maybe earlier this one.

WSOP.COM Nevada

I was just in Las Vegas. I made a $200 deposit to play real money poker. I tried playing and every time I kept getting an error message saying I had some software on my computer that needed to be removed before I could play. I never was able to figure it out and ended up heading back home without playing a hand of poker. Then a week or so later I received a message saying my account is being investigated for fraud. They then sent me a message concluding that my account needed to closed to to suspicious location verifications and that my money would be credited to my PayPal Account. I called and spoke with someone at WSOP.com. They said that my account is clsoed. I said can I redeposit when I am in Vegas again. She said no and further more I will never be able to deposit and play on WSOP.com. This makes no sense to me at all? As anyone had anything like
this happen to them? any suggestions? Thanks, Todd

Sorry, it was only a nickel. This email came without any contact from me. I suspect it came from the bug that would have you ante when you first sat down but not deal you in. This happened more than once to me and I'm not sure what limit I could have been playing where the ante was $.05.

Here is the email from Aug 2:

Quote:
Please be advised Stud games are currently unavailable due to a technical issue which requires maintenance.

During our investigation, we discovered antes you should not have paid in the amount of $0.05. This amount has now been credited to your bankroll and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Once the maintenance is completed and these games are available again we'll update you.

Thank you for your patience.

Re: WSOP.com Nevada Unofficial thread

you can not use a HUD in DE because of the merged player pool with NV and huds being deemed illegal in NV. also there are no stud8 games above .50/1 in DE and no plo and plo8 SnGs as well.

Re: WSOP.com Nevada Unofficial thread

Thanks for the response. Interesting though.. I see no law or information on the use of a HUD being deemed illegal in DE. Only in NV and I can't seem to find anything stating the same for player in DE. Never had an issue using one in NJ. And a 100% sure I can get it to function properly on the 888 software of DE. Any info on this applying to DE players?

To my knowledge, it is not illegal in DE.

WSOP has told me that they do not support HEM or PT in Delaware... That being said, I would be very interested if you can get them to work in DE.

In NV, the hand histories are not saved on your hard drive, you have to email support for them. And the file they give you is not importable into one of the databases.

Re: No 9 handed games higher than .25/.50

Anyone know why there are no 9 handed games now at no limit above .25/.50. ?There are $1/$2 games at 6 handed, but none available at all at 9 handed.

Yeah I called them and they said it was a management decision. Obv. they did this because they think they will get more rake, but I think it's really bad and expressed my displeasure. Personally, I prefer 6 max. but alot of players, especially fish, would never play 6 max. and this is going to give them even more problems with not having enough players.

The nine handed games were very popular. All you will have playing 6 handed are more experienced players. The player pool is small to begin with. This is a disastrous decision and I for one am very upset about it if this is their future plan. There is no reason to discontinue them. I dont think they know what they are doing. It's like the people who run the suncoast. They had a popular coffee shop for many years and then some "brilliant" person comes along and decides to allow some crappy high priced place take its place even though it clearly should have been seen as the wrong decision when so many really like the coffee shop. The same with 9 handed games at the higher stakes. Its like they spoke to some high level players who decided that they could fleece more money from the inexperienced that way. Well, here's the secret - you will lose all those players. I no longer go to the suncoast. And I may be forced to leave WSOP also.

Yeah maybe if enough of us call them it will make some difference. I don't think they were convinced to do this to help more experienced players since I don't think they could care less about helping strong players. I think they did it because some pencil pusher looked at the rake per hour from 9 6 handed tables and the rake per hour from 6 9 handed tables and they concluded the rake per hour would be alot higher from the 6 handed tables.

What they have failed to take into account is that a viable poker site needs a mix between fish and experienced players and this move is going to either get many fish to stop playing, or their bankrolls will quickly be cannibalized which will make the site just a bunch of tough regs. playing each other shorthanded.

I'm assuming that decision is based on the match promo they are currently running. Word around the campfire is that a ton of people signed up for it. So 6 max helps wsop churn through all those new deposits.

Re: WSOP.com Nevada Unofficial thread

I hate this decision. I think it will decimate the player pool. I emailed support telling them why I thought it was bad. Everyone that disagrees with it should email or call support and express your opinion. If enough people vocalize displeasure it might have a positive affect.

Re: WSOP.com Nevada Unofficial thread

It doesn't make sense that they don't have hu tables and now they took out fr. The shorter the game the faster the fish get fried. poker 101.....

UNLESS they're trying to have the fish play lower since they offer fr at lower stakes which makes sense I suppose IF that's what will happen. Although rake is higher at higher stakes so I dont know. Fish DO last longer at lower stakes. (thinking out loud here)

really doubt this... not sure the exact promo you're referring but they have reload bonuses/promos every month, I'm assuming your assuming wrong.

I called, voiced my displeasure. Hopefully its short lived or its back to live cash games for me. Ill still play tournaments online, but the action was much better at the FR games.

Re: WSOP.com Nevada Unofficial thread

also about the lack of FR NL games--
you can email manager@wsop.com and ask for an explanation/ register your displeasure

so far, the only answer i've gotten is that management refuses to explain their decision.

Re: WSOP.com Nevada Unofficial thread

yea I played these games too. Now they are gone.......uh great.

And no surprise, there aren't many if any extra 6max games running because of the change.

I like how nobody mentioned how unethical it would be to play against Nevada players who cannot have a HUD. Anyone using a HUD in Delaware is cheating the Nevada players because they cannot use one, the account should be closed and funds confiscated immediately if DE is unable to take legal action.

Holdem Indicator makes a HUD for Unibet and it is outright cheating because HUDs are banned on the site, you are stealing directly from the players that follow the rules when you use a HUD on the site. Unibet breaks the HUD often thankfully and hopefully DE checks into this as well.
