UMW looks interesting, but their website is extremely short on details.

Cake support emailed me and told me that they would "soon" be expecting the ability to create UMW accounts for their customers.

The great thing about epassporte was for the lower stakes players, having direct ATM access.

UseMyWallet, QuickTender and EcoCard are all the same company. I used EcoCard at Prima and it worked very well and it IS used for many other things, mostly in Europe, besides gambling (unlike ePassporte and Neteller) theres a very good chance it could be here to stay long term.

If you are not already a UseMyWallet / Quicktender member then you need to be invited by a merchant to get an account which is why there is no place on their website to register a new account.

Cake will be able to set up accounts for their players "shortly"...who knows when "shortly" is though.

I already had a EcoCard / Quicktender account so I was able to withdraw via UseMyWallet already. It works much much better than ePassporte for players making larger withdrawals. For smaller withdrawal, youre kind of screwed though.

Thanks for summarizing everything that was already known. Can somebody think of some new ways to say the same stuff over and over?

There you go. I said it over again and wasted some more bandwidth just like you did.

This may be the dickiest post I have ever seen on here.

I found Icemans post to be insightful and relevant.

I too found icemans post helpful. Its always more comforting to hear good reviews about an online wallet I had never heard of.

Iceman, do you know if you have to make a deposit first using quicktender, or can you begin withdrawing immediately?

To add to this I just got a quicktender account. I signed up at an online casino, then emailed them asking for and invite to quicktender. In 24 hours I had my invite and my quicktender account set up. I just tried cashing out of cake so I'll report back with how it goes.

To make this valid as a means of moving funds between sites it would have to also be accepted at other sites. Does anyone know who else accepts this form of payment?

Was that of any assistance, or would a giant GOOGLE banner be better for ya?

I don't believe any other of the current big U.S. sites use it. Thus, it is really only useful if you need to withdraw a huge amount. Cake is really going to lose business if they don't realize that the small and middle stakes players aren't going to continue to play there when it's $35 to withdraw via check.

Players will simply start to cash out their entire balances and not return. Leaning towards doing just that myself.

Very true, will probably see a decline in games soon.. I have stopped playing there till they come up with another withdrawal method.

As have I. Not only that, but it's still possible to transfer funds between FTP/Stars/Epassporte and that likely will continue. But as every day goes by the it gets harder and harder to get any money out of Cake besides a check. which sucks.

If Cake was smart, they would automatically credit our accounts a $30-40 bonus each time you make a check withdrawal. That way players wouldn't feel like they are getting ripped off and Cake would continue to get their action. I know that would work for me.

That's actually not a bad idea, although I don't think it would be enough to get me back because the 33% rakeback is nearly equal to clearing a bonus

I emailed them and asked them if I could withdraw $13K to my checking account (hypothetical, my balance there is really close to zero), all at once and their answer was...

Dear Paul,

Thank you for contacting the QuickTender Help Desk.

Please be informed that there are no limits for withdrawals. Please contact merchant for further information regarding their limits.

There is only one way how to make a withdrawal - wire transfer.

...and then some more stuff. So it appears that the answer is yes.

Most of the prima sites, as well as some casino sites. With the demise of ePassporte, I'm hoping at least one of the biggies will start using it. Bodog could use a company like UMW.

Cake needs to do something, thats for sure. I don't see any easy ways for players to deposit on cake unless they have quicktender. The money will dry up there pretty fast.

And people won't want to deposit anyway if it is going to be a big hassle to withdraw.

I don't understand why all these online casinos have tons of ways for people to deposit and withdraw yet Cake can't come up with 1-2 decent methods? I don't know how everything works so maybe I'm missing something but it seems like it would be easy for cake to make other options available. I mean if the places are dealing with online casinos surely they won't mind adding a poker room to the mix?

I love cake, no pokertracker, good tourney structures, great rakeback and promotions, etc and I really want to see them not fall apart.

And I just thought of something...sportsbook is a skin of cake...do they have better deposit and withdrawal methods? And if so it seems really weird cake hasn't adopted these.

This was just dumped on Cake so give them time to react. I agree the games will dry up if they don't act, but we need to be patient. It's really only been a few days. It takes time to make agreements and launch new processors. I am really hoping they go with Echecks like stars. They are accepting feedback on what we want so be sure to send them an email.

Cake better come up with something good by the end of the first week in May. Because when I get my rakeback for April, I"m out of there. Like I'm sure many others.

That is going to be the magical day for many. It makes no sense to withdraw now and then make another withdrawal after getting my rakeback. I will be taking it all out then though unless there is a way to get cash without paying a $35 fee.

Quite frankly, it's simply been incompetence by Cake management that they have not work on alternatives to epassporte before they left the poker industry. Look at Stars and FTP, they had decent alternatives in place prior to the epass departure and are probably reaping the benefits.

Even UB/AP are in decent shape as they have a reasonable check withdrawal charge. Although if they were wise, they would start giving no deposit reloads to players who don't need to redeposit but need the bonus dollars to play.

UseMyWallet will have an extremely limited appeal once players are able even able to get accounts there. Very high fees and probably only appeals to high stakes players. Even then I'm sure high stakes players would prefer a bank wire than having to use UMW. Where is old Grummin on this matter?

I just got an email from cake saying to email them about opening a quicktender account. I already have one but it appears they are starting to open up this option to all.

The part where cake messed up is that even when epassporte was working fine they should have had other methods. They had that message at the cashier for like 3 months that said we will be have other methods available shortly, but never did.

At least it appears we are seeing some progress, and although I am happy with this quicktender option since I need to move higher figures, they need to figure out something for low stakes players who don't need to move much money. Paying $40 to move a few hundred is crazy.

My cake withdrawal to quicktender has went through according to cake cashier, but my quicktender balance remains at 0. Is there normally a delay between when it clears cake but before it shows up at quicktender, because with epassporte as soon as it cleared cake it showed up in your epassporte account.
