Where can US players play? - First post updated Jan '23 Where can US players play? - First post updated Jan '23

I have been away from the whole online scene ever since being kicked out of pokerstars and fulltilt. This whole time I was made to believe that all online poker was illegal but after much research have come to realize this not to be true. I want to make a return to online poker since my nearest casino is too far to drive to on a regular basis. According to posts I have read many suggest wpn. Is this truly the best out there for US players? If not then which is? Also if suggesting wpn or any other network, which skin is best to play on and what is depositing and withdrawing like? Withdrawal timeframes would help in my selection as well. Hope to get helpful information and when answering about withdrawals I'd prefer to hear from players who have actually cashed out. Thanks.

Supposedly they are going to have new software pretty soon. Maybe it will be Mac friendly.

I would say Revolution...Lock has been good to me, their support is responsive - they used to be Merge but now Revolution and it has gotten better

I'm from the US and have deposited/cashed out a lot - never had a debit card work, and in many cases have had credit cards not work.

Just moved to Canada and have a couple bank accts here - those debit cards don't work either so I wouldn't bank on it

I live in NJ and just deposited on Bovada yesterday. I called and asked them and they said there are only 2 states they currently aren't accepting deposits from, and NJ isn't one of them. Figured I'd through that out there.

The cashout is terrible, no doubt! I didn't say it's the best site - it's the best site for the limited US options out there.

The best thing you can do for cashouts is have your limits increased, and continually cashout every week via both cheque and western union, and if you really need the $$ you just pay someone a percentage and do a trade/wire.

you're kidding us right? Western Union only went back up yesterday and flagged one depositor (so he states atleast) as sending in fraud. Checks apparently, although i'm a fish and obviously have no need to request, are apparently taking months. Check out PokerScout, there's lots of options actually still for the recreational player & also for the nits. 3rd post a plug? wow!

That is not what the original post is saying. Those are sites that are allowed in New Jersey. Bovada, Revolution, WPN, PPN, and Merge are allowed in New Jersey. The only site not allowed is Intertops I believe and that is because they are not taking no new U.S. signups.

On Lock Poker, every time I have deposited with my debit card it has worked with no problems. I will be moving to Black Chip poker next week and am hoping it will be the same. Anybody that plays on the Winning Poker Network have an idea on whether or not debit/credit cards work for depositing?

From what I've heard they work fine but they have a $200 limit (I think) for first time CC deposits. You might want to check into that.

If worse comes to worse you can also use your CC to make a WU deposit online. I made one on Lock recently and it was easy and they reimbursed the fee. WPN probably will reimburse the fee too.

Anyone know how long it takes for deposits to clear on Lock? I just joined and am having issues, they took the funds from my account but never posted them to the site, is this common?

Another thing you can do with Lock is deposit using the Casino - then transfer over to poker. Sometimes it allows you to deposit more or through other forms not accepted through poker. However be advised, there are limits on to how much you can xfer over from casino to poker per day/week/month.

I'm not praising Lock in anyway, just saying it's the best given the extremely limited options. There's no point in just complaining about a site without providing an alternative or answering the guys question - then what is the best site for US players and how do their cash outs work/differ?

WPN (Winning Poker Network) and Merge have faster cashouts. Lock shines for their rewards program imo. You can get a ridiculous rakeback % on Lock.

Actually, I usually praise Lock. Criticize when I think its due also. Wasn't doing either in this case and referenced a site that would provide all the resources for him to do his own research as my opinion isn't the most informed, so I didn't want to plug any site let alone on my 3d post is all.

You gave an inappropriate way of withdrawing as an option. If you read various threads you'll find that people are having difficulties with the speed of withdrawals & that subsequant withdrawals while waiting have been unsuccessful due to a previous one being pending...that was what I was referencing with the "are you kidding" comment.

By enlarge, I actually have no complaints with the site; but I also stand by what I said in the earlier post.

Gotcha. I'm new to the site so I'm not giving advice based on other threads and want people have been saying - just on my own personal experiences which have been plenty (MrGoomba on Lock, and IceVenom on Stars).

That said, yes there is a lag on the cash outs via cheques, it's a couple of months. I've done western union a couple times and that worked for me. Other than that, just as someone just mentioned they have a really good rewards program so I just use what I make in rewards to pay someone a %vig and just trade/cash out.
