As others have echoed: Ignition has the most traffic and has automatic seating. That said, it's anonymous poker which may or may not be for you. I've personally found myself to be *much* more profitable at traditional tables but tons of people find the Ignition games to be extremely soft and to their liking so I would definitely check it out if I were you. After Ignition, look at WPN and BetOnline.

"Best site" is too subjective, you'll have to be more specific. With regard to the site with the most traffic, available in NY, that is Ignition. They only take crypto currency from NY'ers for deposits and offer the same for withdrawals (bitcoin and bitcoin cash).

Winning Poker Network, up until recently, had more tournaments but less cash games on average. However, due to a lot of recent server issues, they have curtailed their MTT schedule for the time being. They still have a large selection of cash games and I suspect that sooner or later they will attempt to take back the crown for running the most MTTs.

Solid 3rd place is Chico Poker Network.

No, there are no PA players. PA users are banned from 2+2. Didn't you know?

I'm a US player returning to online poker after years away. I'm looking for a site with good MTTSNG traffic. I used to grind pokerstars 27-, 45-, 90-, and 180- man sngs. What site did US players who liked these formats gravitate towards?

Well, those types of SNGs do not exist on offshore poker sites. The liquidity simply isn't there. In fact, no one but PS really has the liquidity for such things world-wide.

Silver lining is that the tournaments at many offshore poker sites are kinda like 180 mans, at least in terms of participants :P

Winning Poker Network has some games that would mimic smaller player SNGs called "On Demand" tournaments. A preset number of people join, it starts as a SNG, and there is a registration period where people jump in and turn it into a small MTT/multi table SNG. It's one of those things people love or hate with regard to the game type.

WPN was up until recently the largest tournament site but DDOS/server issues caused them to shut down their MTTs for a while. They have a reduced schedule now.

Currently I would say that Pai Wang Luo Network has the most tournaments to offer. WPN is 2nd. Chico Poker Network in 3rd place. Everyone else has noticeably less action than the top 3 I just mentioned.

Thanks Kahn, WPN sounds like what I should check out. Also, it hadn't occurred to me that regular MTTs might just be smaller and thus comparable.

What I'm really looking for is to practice online in a format similar to the tournaments the local card club where I play offers. My recollection of MTTs online was they were so huge that it took a long time to play and that it was hard to get in the volume.

With WPN's 3-5 hour late reg it'll feel the same length wise.

Carbon, mainstay of the Merge network, is a popular choice of many to supplement their tournament play on other networks.

Snowden is right bwtaylor. WPN has long late-registration periods. They aren't all 3-5 hours, but on the larger tournaments they definitely are. They do this so that the guarantees swell. Without such a long late-reg, GTDs would be significantly lower unfortunately.

Although only limited to specific states, how do the domestic sites rank amongst eachother? 888, pokerstars, etc. How would you compare them to the off shore sites?

They aren't SNGs, but Juicy Stakes Poker has a very small player pool, which means that most of the MTTs are the size you're talking about. The size of the largest MTTs are usually about 80 players.

It's Thursday 6:25pm EST and one of the main poker sites only has 156 people playing cash games? What site has more traffic?

No idea what site you were looking at but if it only had 156 playing cash, it's not one of the main poker sites available to US players.

It seems he's talking about one of the U.S. based sites in N.J., Del., or Nev. Those numbers could very well be accurate.

Well, yeah - If he's talking about the regulated sites, that's probably accurate. I guess that's what he meant by "main" sites. I thought he meant most populated. The fact that the regulated sites have low traffic is by no means new and most definitely not in June.

The sites with the most traffic are on the following networks:

Pai Wang Luo Network
Winning Poker Network
Chico Poker Network

After that, everything is the size you remarked about or smaller.
