What software? If you're referring to WPN, see Kahn's post above yours. You also might want to check out the big WPN thread in this forum.

The WPN thread is the place to post your questions and concerns specific to that site.

Ask around. I told my banker that I needed an account for my business. When she found out that I was a poker player she didn't want anything to do with it. A few months later she was gone and the person that took her place though it was cool that I was a poker player.

It's weird what happens when people fine out that poker is your job. Some people like it or at least think it looks like fun. Others think any poker player is a degenerate gambler. Then there are those in the middle who don't know anything about poker or don't care one way or the other.

You just have to ask around until you find the right person.

This is good general advice for a lot of spots when your gambling/poker income is relevant info for strangers who hold some decision-making power over your specific situation.

wrt to this thread, every bank/payment processor, credit card provider might have different risk tolerance and stance on gaming. Crypto solves a lot of these issues. But it's still worth looking for your own version of HSBc circa 5 years ago

The lag is not typical of the site? Are you serious? I posted, suggesting that they take the site down for a week and devote all of their resources to fixing those problems. I put up that post in 2010, and 8 years later not much has changed.

Very serious. What you posted in 2010 is of no consequence. The lag is not typical of the site. If you intend to portray this as "normal" and lasting for 8 years that is absurd. The site would not have grown 30 fold and lasted 8 years if what you intone were true.

The lag was way worse 2 years ago when I started, they were having DDOS attacks like 2+ times a month. Now it's rare. This last week was way out of the norm.

I can confirm this. The "lag" and connectivity issues have improved drastically over the last few years. Someone having constant issues with this should definitely begin investigating the real cause of their problem because "the site" certainly isn't it.

While the above may be true, this sure isn't:

As can be seen in the hundreds and hundreds of posts about the issue in the WPN thread over the last week or two.

I was admittedly a bit out of the loop with WPN's recent ddos attack, etc when I wrote that. All I meant was that there were some recurring connection/sound issues that WPN suffered for years that players experienced pretty much across the board. Those specific issues had been almost entirely addressed and resolved within the past year or so. Outside of the recent attacks and resulting connection issues, I can't say that WPN has had any chronic issues with connectivity over the past 6-12 months any more so than any other network and in all reality - WPN is far more reliable than BetOnline or Ignition.

Just played on ignition for the first time this week. So surprised at how fishy it was. Not too fond of the anonymous condition however.

What are your guys thoughts on Ignition?

Also, do they have an android app? Having trouble finding it, their website seems a bit shotty.

Ignition is currently the most popular (read largest) online poker site available to Americans.

With regard to an Android app, just go to Ignition's website and click on Poker on the left sidebar.

Are there any risks in trying to deposit with a debit card or credit card? I don't want my account flagged/closed for trying to deposit a small amount of fun money. I was gonna try for Ignition, I used to play on Bovada years ago.

I've deposited here with credit card. They won't accept a few credit cards I know from trying-or maybe it was a debit card-, but another one I deposited $100 twice (a month apart) with no problems. The billing cycles have come and gone and my card is still active. Worst case they won't accept the transaction. Or they'll accept the first transaction, but not future ones so be sure to win 😂.

I have never once heard of someone's account being closed for depositing. However, if it is something you are truly concerned with, purchase crypto-currency and deposit with that.

Bovada accepts Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Core.

Thanks, did not know that. How's the traffic compared to Ignition?

Exactly the same. Players from Ignition and Bovada and Bodog all play together on the same network. You can have an account on Ignition as well as Bovada if you'd like.

I re-deposited onto Bovada for the first time in several years and have been pleased with the traffic so far

Hey everyone. I am from the U.S. and I am deciding as to which site would be better to play on between Global Poker and Ignition.

I am planning primarily playing 6 max and start at 4/5NL and work my way up to 20/25NL.

Here are the main things I am looking for

1. Player softness: Which of these sites would you say has the softer field of players overall?

2. Traffic: Which has the higher amount of traffic for cash games at the micros?

Really, the more recreational players the better.

Any help would be appreciated.

Both sites have many recreational players as both sites utilize the "recreational player model" developed by Jonas Odman. He originally worked for Bodog/Bovada/Ignition where he developed it and then later he helped found Global Poker.

Ignition is the larger of the two sites. It also has lower rake.

After ACR (when it's working), is Ignition the best MTT site in the USA? Trying to figure out where else to play with ACR's issues.
