I don't think that people from Oregon have had any problems signing on to the sites still operating in the US. If you check out pokerscout.com you can see which sites are open to US players. The 3 major sites operating are Merge, Winning Poker Network (WPN) and Bodog. Also the Equity network is a new, albeit small, site also worth considering. Cashouts on the major US networks have all been pretty reasonable.

Players don't face any criminal penalties unless a state specifically legislates it. So far I think that only Washington state has legislated such a thing (although California is considering such legislation). I've never heard of anyone actually being prosecuted even in Washington.

I play in Oregon, though I've been in different states/countries over the past few years, I'm back here again and still playing online. Withdraws are simple, checks are easy to cash and I've always received my payment within 5 days, (this is from Bovada). Nothing a player does with regard to online poker (deposits/withdraws) is illegal for the player.

I wouldn't play at Carbon. They're taking away bonus's, etc. Only time before they go belly up and your $$ dissapears.

These forums work a lot better with facts. Opinions are also great if you can make it clear.

Bonus and going belly up do not correlate in the slightest. Want an example? Look at Bovada, the most successful US-facing poker site. In fact, margins go up when bonuses go away (which isn't even what is happening), and as such, so would profitability. Your logic and conclusion are completely invalid.

Having some difficulty with current US sites and timely withdrawals. Any new suggestions for US poker websites?

I've been out of online action for about 3 years already.
You said there is no risk of any prosecution for playing online but there is a risk to loose money.

3 years have passed and I wonder - are there any type of guarantees that these US-friendly rooms provide or it is all about reputation? I've lost about $5K at UB.

I see that Bovada has a non-US sister-room Bodog which could potentially return the funds if something will go wrong with Bovada. What about Merge, Winning?

Hey guys, I apologize in advance if this is mentioned, but I didn't find it in the search. But the title says it all. I want to diversify myself in all facets of poker, and I was wondering where you might suggest doing this online for US facing sites.

I've dabbled into some live HORSE home games, but I would love to build a roll diversifying myself online.

I'd even consider building a roll live. I reside in southern california between San Diego and LA, and would be interested into some low stakes mixed games too.

Anyway, suggestions would be great

if you're looking for new games Ace-5 Triple Draw and 2-7 Triple Draw have been running every day on Carbon and they're really fun games to learn. A-5 runs $10, $25, and $50, and there's a group who play $400 and $600. 2-7 runs at $50 and one player has been successfully starting $100 games. both are pot limit only.

i see HORSE games running sometimes when i check, but i dont play in them often so i cant say how consistent they are.

Bobada has several tables of all of the HORSE games (-Razz) running fairly regularly.

Merge runs a couple of HORSE tournaments every day.

I'm not up on USD sites, but for Bitcoin sites:

Betcoin Poker has very limited Stud, Stud/8 and Telesina tables with no action.

Grid Poker spreads almost everything but has limited action. If you want to play tiny freerolls in mixed games for practice this is the place right now, but they mess with their freeroll schedule constantly so that may not be true next week. Microstakes OFC/Pineapple runs fairly regularly.

Pocket Rockets Casino has Open Face Chinese and OFC/Pineapple. (Also for Dogecoin.) There used to be games running all the time but it's slowed down a bit lately.

All of these are small sites and you pretty much have to be prepared to start tables.

Bodog is nearly 20 years old and backed by a successful sportsbook/casino few worries.

Merge is 9 years old and backed by a successful sportsbook/casino, few worries.

Winning is younger, but backed by A+ rated BetCris, few worries.

Your main two spots for action will be Bovada and Merge (Carbon).

Do poker sites generally enforce state age laws? I'm turning 18 soon and I live in MO. I know that Bovada and ACR will let me register, but I don't want to deposit just to get my account locked as soon as I try to process a withdraw. Thanks.

So basically I deposited 100 bucks on Merge and through grinding mainly MTTs and a very small amount of sit and gos and up to around 2400. I'm basically here looking for advice as to what I should do next. I'm considering withdrawing some of it and moving it onto possibly WPN(does anyone here set up MTT grinders with good rb there?) or another site? What are the tournaments like on there? Good guarantees/structure? The rake for merge is so high in cash I don't even consider playing it, but possibly would elsewhere. It's something I would like to try.Really sucks they don't do rakeback anymore and have shut a s*** VIP program.

Also are there any like place here where other merge regs talk, or maybe a skype group or something? It would be nice to have other solid people to bounce ideas off of.

Basically open to anyone who has suggestions as to what course of action I should be taking or if I should post this in a different section. Thanks!

Oh I also have one more question, I am considering moving to jersey. I know people who lived in jersey got merge accounts closed when they legalized online poker (or sometime after) But was it because there accounts were listed with jersey addresses? Or because IP detecters picked them up as being in jersey? If I move there I'd like to still be able to play on carbon If I am doing so when that happens. But who knows. Thanks again guys.

All of the unregulated online sites that accept US players are 18+, so you're good once you turn 18.

Ultimate can not offer its services in any states other than NJ and NV. There are a number of fail safes in place to insure that players from other states can not log in and play from anywhere but being physically located in those states.

Ohio is fine for Carbon and Bovada.

I just started playing on Intertops myself and I love the tournament layout they have over there. Tons of stuff for micro, small, and mid stakes (and high, as well but most sites have very little for micros stakes players on the tournament front) and there are a lot of satellites, GTD's, and freerolls.

I'm a cash game player but I'm going to dabble in tournaments now and then and I like what I see as far as that goes on Tops. It's hard for me to turn down $1 to $5 buy ins to get my beak wet with tournaments.

In addition to this - I noticed that there were a ton of people playing high stakes heads up on Intertops last night. The fact that the site offers something for everyone is really cool for a US player like myself who is limited to WPN otherwise. For now. I live in NY but am moving across to NJ in the fall and plan on starting a roll on as many sites as possible
