This would be the biggest reason not to play there, this came from a bot thread a while back for the WPN forum. This is just at one stake if I remember correctly. 15 players with the same stats...

Try sending smaller files. If you are trying to send attachments that are 50mb in size or something similar, they will be rejected from the email servers. Compress your files down to high quality JPGs, PNGs, or even insert them into PDFs. But try to keep file sizes 2mb or less.

The above advice applies to all online gambling sites when you have to send in your KYC documents.

Why not try them both? They each have strengths and weaknesses.

Hey team! It's been 12 years since I logged into the site, 14 since I joined. Crazy stuff but I have come back to poker. So a couple questions I hope you guys can help me out with.

1.) Anyone still say brown trout? Man that was the thing back in the day.
2.) I have been hitting the .50/1 NL on Sportsgaming.ag and doing pretty well. But they don't allow me to track players. Also traffic lacks sometimes. So I am looking for a new site. I mistakenly went to ignition until I realized the players are not labeled and depositing is a pain in the ass. Additionally, I play on my cell phone a bit and the site plain sucks for that it seems. CPU is kind of clunky too. Any suggestions?
3.) Pokerstars is UK only?
4.) I used to grind on Partypoker. That still a good site?
5.) What is the best tracking app? I had several hundred thousand logged in when I used to play and it was always very helpful.

Appreciate all the help in advance!

1) http://pokerterms.com/brown-trout.html As Two Plus Two has become more and more popular and thus less of a secret, the brown trout passphrase has little use anymore.

2a) I assume you mean Sportsbetting.ag and you can track your play on a CPU. You can find tracking software in the Commercial Software forum.

2b) Depositing on Ignition should not be a pain. Most people can deposit and play within minutes.

3) PokerStars is not UK only, but they don't take players from the US.

4) Some people still enjoy PartyPoker. None of those people are in the US.

5) There are several options these days and some people prefer one over the other for different reasons. Check the Commercial Software forum to see your options.

There are 4 big options for players from the US not located in a state with regulated poker. Those are BetOnline/Sportsbetting.ag, Ignition/Bovada, Global Poker and finally WPN(ACR,True,BCP). These sites are the only ones players located in the US can find good traffic at regularly.

A 5th option, one that many use to supplement their play at the other 4, is Carbon- Merge network- with the best software of the 5 options.

I literally envisioned you posting exactly what you did as I wrote that part. I think I might be psychic.

They do have good software and it would be cool if they had more traffic. They have nobody to blame but themselves for making dumb decisions that drove players away. They might not even be my 5th choice. I'd probably choose SWC.

Or as a frequent poster in this forum, recognizing I am a Carbon booster, you made an intuitive guess. Guess that's pretty close to being psychic. From a player's standpoint, their past decisions have driven many away. But the fact remains, many are choosing to supplement their play on other sites at Merge, Carbon in most cases. Bitcoin cash outs/deposits, softer mtt fields, and clean software are positives.

Plus no more VIP program for them to steal equity from players. That’s a positive.

*Decisions*

**** merge.

Oh my! Well as one who never got caught up in rewards, rakeback, and all that other good stuff, Merge is OK with me. Play a little poker, win a little money, and cash out. Rinse and repeat. Ain't a whole lot to it. Mercy!

I personally lost no equity, but when a site shows it is dishonorable, whether or not that instance directly affects you, it should be accounted for in weighing the potential risk vs reward of playing there.

Hence my advice is... **** merge.

Or the fact that they periodically purge huge swaths of winning players. Allowing the next best players to become the top winners... Who then get purged in the next go round. Banning winning players sucks

**** Merge.

Banning winning players does suck. However, to be fair, there are quite a few who weren't banned, just table restricted. Hence, they're still supplementing their play at other sites on Merge. Mercy!

I had the same thing happen to me (at WPN). I had to go to live chat and send my information while in the chat and get verified in real-time, even then they couldn't figure out why my withdrawal page was hanging. They tried to get me to install the latest version of java and flash, no dice, and then they were like, n/m I fixed something over here, and then I was able to withdraw. Took about 20 minutes or so to get it sorted out.

But your Honor, please consider all the people I didn’t rob.

Convicted burglar asking not to be judged only on the people he robbed, but on the people he didn’t rob.

Sort of like judging Merge on the winning players they didn’t ban.

Does anyone know if Bovada, Ignition, or Bodog accept players from NY state? I know ignition was not letting me last year but I thought I heard it changed. I did just try to sign up for Bovada and it seems like I’m blocked because of my location, but maybe Ignition is different now.

I'm good with that. Rec oriented site now. Their choice. Plenty of bells and whistles at other sites. Still best U.S. facing site software and soft fields.

Hey guys,

is there any development in the US in terms of something similar like zoom games? Ignition is the only one but is anonymous right?

Are the zoom games on Ignition beatable or overwhelmed with regs?

Whats the best platform for NL100 cash games at the moment?

Thanks
Benjo

Hey Benjo,

Ignition/Bovada is the only network available to players from the US where they have decent traffic in their Fast Fold variant(Zone). BetOnline/Sportsbetting.ag does offer non-anonymous Fast Fold(Boost), but it only runs at 10nl currently.

I haven't played Zone lately, but unless the player pool changed drastically I do believe the games should still be beatable. Because it's the middle of Summer the games may have slightly less recs than most times during the year. I'm not sure how you could accurately gauge that in anonymous games.

The 4 main networks for online US cash games would be:
Ignition/Bovada

BetOnline/Sportsbetting.ag

Global Poker

Winning Poker Network(ACR, Black Chip, True)

I think Ignition/Bovada has the most traffic. I hate their software so you'll find me at BetOnline which has good software and a nice mix of recs and regs. Global Poker has a good amount of recs, but high rake, no tracking and recently lost PayPal as a deposit and withdrawal method. WPN has the most regs, but they offer rakeback and some of the best rewards for high volume players.

Different people prefer different things so I can't say definitively what's the best platform for you. Plenty of players out there play at multiple sites. Try them out and see what you like.

Ain't no way in hell I'm a disappoint you, except for what I'm about to say. Merge cash games suck from the point of low volume, the repeated reports of bots, and, of course the past banning/table restriction of winning players. Outside of that, all is well. Have a good day.
