Hey all. Sorry for this being my first post, I have been lurking for about a month but now have a reason to actually post.

I have been playing on Global Poker for a little over a month, have about 9500 hands accumulated (currently playing at NL20), and my win rate is around 9.8. I have been tracking my results in a spreadsheet.

I am just now starting to take Poker a little more serious than in the past as this is the first time I have played online poker. My goal in the end is to use this as supplemental income when I am ready to retire (im 39 now so I have a long way to go), so I have been doing a ton of learning.

I have recently been looking into ACR because of the fact they have Rakeback rewards, you can use a HUD and Tracker which would make it easier for me when I want to review hands and such (I use Poker Snowie and Flopzilla).

One of the things I love about Global Poker though is the ease of Paypal. I have done one withdrawl and it was painless, had my money in less than 24 hours and that includes the time it took for the verification. With ACR, I think I would prob use the debit card feature because im a little nervous and confused about getting into the world of bitcoin.

So would love the advice of those of you who have played on both sites. What do you think I should do from your experience? Keep grinding on Global or move to ACR?

Thanks in advance for the replies.

ACR will be tougher than Global because it allows all the tracking software and has high rakeback/VIP rewards. Your winrate will go down. You will make some (perhaps all) of that up in rewards, but be aware that the way you make your money will change.

I recommend you learn about bitcoin setup. It's not that hard. There are many guides online if need be. Just remember to use an intermediary wallet between the exchange that you buy/sell bitcoin at and the poker site you deposit too.

Exchange > intermediary wallet > poker site to deposit
Poker site > intermediary wallet > exchange to withdraw

Hello All, **skip below for the question**

It's been a while since I've been on. Nice to see some of the regs still contributing and the site still going strong. Took a break to attempt to start a business w/ someone I wasn't really compatible with. Just turned 30 and I'm going to settle on the fact that I'll most likely be working my current job until retirement. Not a bad gig, pays well in the Dallas Metro.

I love the game of Poker. I'm pretty good at it and get tons of compliments. Math and psychology are my strong points. I'm a student of the game. Willing to read books, play sharks, discuss hands. Whatever it takes! My goal is to supplement my income playing Poker. Hopefully move up limits and be a force to be reckoned with on the tables.

****************Question:*********************

I've been away from online grinding for a while. I used to play on Bovada before the crash of January 2016. I've since seen it's spun off to Ignition. But now Bovada is back and Ignition is still a thing. Which has more traffic and is Bovada still the one that attracts more whales because of it's sportsbook? I'm also considering ACR because I want online Poker to make me a better Live Player. I'm not too excited about the use of Huds and Poker Trackers. It just makes it a completely different game. I feel the anonymous tables makes a better live player because that's how it's going to be live. I'm willing to buy Huds/Trackers and grind it out on ACR if it helps me improve my game. My goal is to get to a point where I'm playing online maybe 1/2 or 2/5 (whatever limit I'm confident isn't full of bots and collusion) and eventually I want to exclusively be playing 2/5 or 5/10 live. I can drive to Winstar and luckily I fly for free so getting to a casino is no problem. I know there's a lot of work ahead of me and I'm willing to grind hard. I'll most likely start 25NL online with a $500 bankroll and 200NL live with a $4k bankroll.

I normally just used a credit card in the past and cashed out by getting a check from Bovada. I see that Bitcoin is a major thing now. My only worry is the way the Bitcoin exchange Rate fluctuates. Have you guys experienced any problems with that? Example: I buy $300usd worth of Bitcoin. Then I transfer it to the poker site who only gives me $294usd for it. I grind it up to $700usd but cash out and can only sell it for $680usd. Are the exchange rates so drastic that I should worry about it?

I know it's a lot in this post, lots of questions and a backdrop of what I've been up to. Sorry for writing a book. I miss you guys though and it feels great to be back!!

Both Bovada and Ignition are on Pai Wang Luo Network. As such, they share their players and offer the exact same games. It matters not which you choose in that regard.

The exchange rate can also fluctuate in your favor. And if you look at a chart of bitcoin since it's inception, it goes up and to the right...

Thanks for your response. So that answers my question on Bovada v Ignition. I'm going to assume that grinding on ACR would make you a better poker player than Bovada.

But:

How would ACR with it's use of huds/trackers make someone a better poker player overall. At a live table, there are no trackers. Or is it, the trackers allow you to plug holes in your own game and that's why it makes you better. I'm curious on what people think about that. It seems that the person would just become dependent on tracker software.

Another question on Bitcoin:

What's the pros and cons of using Bitcoin vs a Credit Card and vice versa.

You nailed it. Plugging your own leaks. But also you can learn a lot about other people's common leaks and if you figure out how to exploit them, you can take that with you anywhere you play.

Bitcoin works 100% of the time. Credit cards are accepted but do not process 100% of the time... more like 55-60% these days. Plus, bitcoin and cyrpto currencies are the hot new thing that may help alter financial and monetary systems for the better.

At any of the offshore poker sites that accept US players, yes. Not on JokerStars, 888, Party, etc.

Hey! I used to play on the Merge Network (Carbon Gaming) but have found that their traffic in 10NL seems super slow.. two tables every time I come on.

What sites have the best traffic for the micros in the US?

Care to elaborate? I'm okay with grinder-ey types & "tough" games. I'm just looking for a place where I don't have to worry about the availability to multi-table micros

ACR Igmition and Global all have plenty of traffic at the 10nl level. ACR offers rakeback if thats something that matters to you.
Hope this helps
Good luck at the tables!

ACR has very good traffic in micros. At least 6 tables at any time (10NL) and you will find more than 25 at peak hours.
If you're OK with harder competition and can make it up by rake and rewards, ACR (WPN) is a good option for you imo.

My first ever post on here. sorry if this has been answered but I can't seemed to find the info I'm looking for

Any recs as to which site I should use to play low stakes NLHE tournaments ? Local card room has a min buy in of $75, and while I have cashed 2/4 of the tourneys I've played I'd like to be able to play some lower stakes online here in NY.

And recs are appreciated

Thanks, - Any2

This is my first post!

I've played a lot of brick and motor limit hold’em. I want to start playing online again. Are there any USA facing sites that have consistent limit hold’em games? I would like to play anywhere from 50c/1$ to 5$/10$ online. I live in the USA, but not in a state with online poker.

Unfortunately no, LHE is a dead game online. A few sites offer it but it never runs. The only way you can get any limit action is in a mixed game really

Thanks

i know bovada traffic is way down lately with all the changes and weird updates so it may have diminished there even more since i last looked. i have definitely been four- and six-tabling these games on ACR in the last few days though

Sounds good. I'll check it out. Any issue getting money on there via credit card?

I tried ignition for months. I only screw around occasionally playing $0.10-0.25 or $0.25-0.50. The reason I no longer want to play there is because I'm CONSTANTLY getting sat at a table where it's just me. I could spend 10 minutes continuously opening and closing 4 tables of PLO or NL where I'm the only player at the table.

I don't mind the random seating, however I can't stand having to spend 10 or 15 minutes just hoping I'll be sat at a full game (I.e. 6 max PLO8 or 9 handed NL).

What is the next site that I should try?
