I play on Lock and the double or nothing sngs are the main game that is always filling up from the loswest buy in almost to the highest. You can always find a game but the multi table sngs are dead here as well

I am from the united states and i would like to try and give an online poker site a chance. I realize that you cannot deposit with your debit card. So i was wondering, has anyone from the United States had any luck depositing through western union? if so, which site? And were you able to get a successfull cashout?

I've been playing internet poker for quite some time now - started early in 2004. As everyone is aware of - at this time - the sites left for American players has dropped off drastically since 2006.

This is the type of poker I'm looking to play now. R&A tournies that have an inital buy-in of around $5 to $15 which usually wind up costing you around $15 to $90. And having these tournies be full table MTTS with anywhere from 75 to 200 players to start.

Although a site that had regular MTT's that aren't R&A's that have a buy-in from $10 to $40 would be O.K. too.

I had been playing these types of tournies at "Cake"......but a while ago now...."Cake" shipped all it's American players elsewhere. I ended up at a site called "Juicy Stakes" which I do not like at all for a multitude of reasons & am done with.

I believe that "Juicy Stakes" is/was a skin of the old "Cake network". When I look at Sharkscope it looks like "Cake" is now a skin of "Revolution", but I'm not sure of it....it is sort of confusing.

Anyway - I would like to switch to a different site. I also belong to "Carbon" poker....but hadn't played there in a couple of years (I believe that it was on the "Merge" network & it still might be).

When I looked at that.....it looked like most of their tournies were too small to fit what I'm looking for. I've been seeing a lot of ads for "America's Cardroom", but know nothing about it.

Anyway - I'd appreicate any comments or advice or opinions on where I should go (as an American player) to find the type of tournies I described above......If there are any left.

Cake was sold and renamed to the Revolution network. Carbon is a skin on the Merge network. The Merge network and the Revolution network are the two largest networks for US players at the moment.

America's Cardroom is a skin on the Winning Poker Network, I'm not familiar with their MTT traffic so hopefully someone else can give you a definite answer although I would guess that they have less traffic than Merge or Revolution. WPN does have some of the fastest cashouts available for US players so perhaps download their software and browse the lobby to see if they meet your needs.

Bovada (they used to be Bodog if you remember them) might be another site you want to check out.

aside from Bovada, what sites also have sports betting?

Intertops, 5dimes, ACR (I think any WPN site?)

I have not cashed out, but I signed up to Bovada and deposited via RapidTransfer, which is moneygram. It was min 100 bucks, and it cost about 10 dollars to send the money, it showed up in my account within minutes.

All you do it go to a moneygram location and send it. Takes maybe 5 minutes tops.

Other people in the bovada payout thread said cashing out with moneygram is super easy and fast. You gotta deposite through moneygram to withdraw through moneygram, which is why i used it.

Site with most action but more importantly a site that pays fast and is reliable.

I am a player considering moving from the Merge Network. I have read a good amount of stories about slow payouts, bad customer service, etc.

I mostly prefer playing mid-stakes MTT's. Anything from $20 to $300. Also, in that same range, an occasional sit-and-go would be nice too. What are the best skins?

Also, would I be better off at a different network, or is Merge still the best for what I'm looking for?

Hello, my name is Taylor (screen name: Howdypal), I have been a member of Bodog for 7-8 years and have deposited between 5k-10k over the years that have been played on sportsbook, casino, and poker. I used to be an advocate for the former Bodog stating that despite the slow payouts, they were a good company with decent customer service. I can no longer advocate for this company and am letting everyone know my experience.

About 4 months ago I invested a mere $4.40 to win a $33 ticket to any future tournament of my choice. After spending the last couple months in the hospital with my newborn daughter, I finally had time to sit down for several hours in a row and play some poker. When I went to search for a good $33 tourney and discovered my ticket had vanished. After some further research I discovered that my ticket (not a promotion, won with my own deposit), had "expired". Apparently my winnings are only good for 90 days and then they become property of Bovada...but of course, because of my long term, deep deposit relationship they would be considerate of the circumstances and give me some more time to play...

I called and spoke with a Ron. Ron informed me that he couldn't promise that he could get me my ticket but he would try. After a couple minutes on hold he came back on the line and informed me that he couldn't offer me a $33 ticket, he would typically be able to get me a $5.50 ticket but that he pulled some strings and could give me a $11 ticket.

I spent the next 30-40 minutes discussing policies with Ron.
I asked Ron to show me where in the policies/terms of service I could see that the ticket would eventually expire, he directed me to the TOS. I asked him where in the TOS it discussed tickets. Ron placed me on hold for about 10 minutes to research. When he came back on the line, he apologized but he had directed me to the wrong location...I actually had to look under the "Poker FAQs." and it was my responsibility to know how the ticket worked. When I asked him if he thought it was ridiculous that I was expected to know all these policies so well when he, as an employee, would take 15 minutes to find them, he said that his answer didn't matter.
When I asked Ron for explanation as to why tickets expired, considering most (if not all) other online poker sites offer these tickets/tokens that don't expire, he told me that he didn't know why the rule was what it was. He said (and I quote), "We don't know why rules are rules. Look at Singapore. It's illegal to chew gum in Singapore. Why is it illegal? Why would you get arrested. No one knows...it's just the rules." Really???? Bovada- THAT is your defense for this policy. Because people in Singapore can't chew gum?
I asked to speak with his supervisor who was apparently in a meeting for the next two hours. Ron then informed me that I was no longer eligible for the $11 ticket since I didn't accept it initially. I told him that while I was upset about them robbing me of the $33, the retraction of the $11 may be their biggest infraction. I told him they were losing a customer who had invested a fair amount of money into the company over a $33 ticket which was mine in the first place. He told me, "We are a business, not a charity." I don't know where they get there talking points but it's unbelievable.

After hanging up with Ron, I e-mailed and called again. Any attempt to reach a supervisor is in vain as they just say they're unavailable. I can't make Bovada give me my $33 but I can spread the word across the internet that there are much better places to invest your money be in casino, poker, or sportsbook than in the terrible customer service site of Bovada....please, I urge you - spend your money elsewhere!

I was denied participation to the $10 instant bonus for no reason.

I was thinking about depositing and trying out the software/player pool. I saw this bonus and thought I'd probably play a couple sng and make a deposit if I liked it.

I get no bonus, send an email, and get a reply saying sorry.

Confirmed will never deposit on this site. Especially with what I hear about all their checks bouncing.

Maybe try the Merge network if you aren't satisfied with Revolution.

ACR/True is a better option than Merge, But is on the same level as Lock but just doesn't have as good of promotions

so I downloaded lock poker because I was referred to it. I read up on it on some of these forums and it seems players have trouble cashing out ?? Is this still true ?? I'm in the US btw.

Merge has a bigger MTT/SNG player pool than both revolution and acr/true.

ACR/True/BCP may have faster cashouts but everything else about them is an absolute mess right now. Just stick to Merge imo.

Everything is a mess anywhere you choose if you are in the US. Its just which is the least of all the evils and that is personal preference

Hello. Most of what I read is people asking if a site 'accepts' U.S. players. As these sites are stationed outside the U.S., I would think the question should be: "Am I at a legal risk?".

When depositing online via debit card, sites will often put a disclaimer advising the depositor to reference the laws of the country in which they reside. I can't seem to understand what the heck these are?!! Does a successful deposit via your bank's debit card mean that you're o.k. to 'legally' play?
