Where can people in Colombia play? Where can people in Colombia play?

I'm currently living in Colombia, South America and I'm looking for the best/cheapest processor. Just wondering if there are some people out there that have dealt with any of the providers and why you chose it.

Did the provider allow to deposit directly into your account?
How much did they charge to make withdrawals from the ATMs?
Once you cashed out the money from Poker Stars, how long did it take for it to be available for withdrawal?

If there is any other info you think could be useful, please add it.

Thanks!

so whenever i look up how americans go about playing poker in other countries it seems like they are using their old accounts from the states. i have never made a pokerstars account i am only 20 years old. im currently livinging in colombia taking care of my grandmother and doing some volunteer work, and i will be here for at least four more months. so is it possible for me to just get a colombian bank account and debt card and make an account on pokerstars without mentioning im american or at some point will my being an american citizen come up during my registration.

You need(eventually) to prove you live in Columbia. Other than that I don't see a problem. They didn't ask(at least not me) if I was an American Citizen or if I was from outer space.

Is the eventually during the registration or whenever I want to cash out? Also can I prove residency with a utility bill that is not in my name? I'm not sure what I could get to prove I'm living here. If I make a bank account would paperwork from the bank like a statement work?

Sounds like some great questions to ask Poker Stars, as they will be more familiar with the situation than most posters here.

From everything I have seen, PokerStars doesn't care if you're American (or what country you're from) as long as you're not accessing PokerStars from within the USA.

As long as you're accessing the site from outside the US, you can be a citizen (from) anywhere, really.

Several months ago, pretty much everything was available, including Bodog, but google searches now lead me to believe that a lot has changed recently. No more Stars, no more Bodog, and probably no more several other choices.

So what are the current options from within Colombia? (For a Colombian citizen, if that matters.)

I just moved to Colombia and to my surprise, the sites I've tried checking (PartyPoker, Skypoker, 888) have all said that new accounts are not allowed in my area. Where can I play?

I know Colombians users can't play real money games on PS right now, but if I'm staying in Colombia a couple of months, will I be able to play on my (Norwegian) account?

A lady from support said it would be OK, but she also misspelled it "Columbia" and went on to say if I permanently relocate there I have to let them know. I didn't think that to be possible, so I'm not too sure if the answer is valid. Maybe the rule is just for Colombian bank accounts? If someone has visited the country after the change of laws last year could tell me I'd super appreciate it!

I am a foreigner living here, pretty sure you cannot play still. I changed my account to Colombian location before they stopped here, but I think I would have heard in the poker expat poker community here if you can play just having a foreign account. Its been a while I just tried opening the client and it wont even connect to the login screen. Most of the expats who were here to grind have left, so that should give you an indication. I am 99% sure you cannot play from here. Its just like USA, if you have foreign account and go to USA, you are not allowed to play while in USA as well. But other than all that Colombia is a great place, I've been living in Medellin 4 years. pm me if you want any info or tips

Appreciate the answer! I did have Medellin in mind, yes! Seems like my kind of place. Hopefully PokerStars can figure out a deal that works, eventually. I assume all other major poker sites are blocked there too?
