What is the stars rakeback these days? What is the stars rakeback these days?

I'm just curious because it feels like 1% or less..

It feels like opening the chest is actually not worth it.

What is next? Negative rakeback? It seems unsustaineable.

I'm taking this from jdawg's thread where he calculates his rakeback %, pretty sure that guy is not depositing more than he is withdrawing.

Not exactly depends deposits and withdraws but if we use terms regs and fishes:
I would think that boosts is timed several hours apart is lot better for fish.
Fish get more boosted boxes as regs can't stop playing after getting boosted box and wait hours until getting new boost, regs will just get several unboosted boxes before next boost come in as they need put consistent long hours every day.
Fish can collect mostly boosted boxes if they want and i would think good % fishes do it (wait to play bigger volume when next boost timer have finished).

Basically nothing.

I had to clear 4200 points for a chest, and upon doing so, got a whopping 35 stars coins and a $1.

Saw someone post about clearing a 35,00 point chest and get $4

Apparently 1 point = 1 cent of rake, and 1 stars coin = 1 cent of value.
So do the math and we're looking at 3% for me and 1.1% for the other guy plus whatever he got in stars coins.

Super........

It's variable, and is based on a secret algorithm that would probably be illegal in other industries if they used it for their loyalty schemes.
I mean, imagine if your supermarket loyalty card gave you "random" points, but your neighbour got more, and there was no way to find out if you're being discriminated against. Stars doesn't do transparency.

I'm thinking that since Pokerstars never uses the term "rakeback" but insist on calling it "Stars Rewards", that this may help them legally justify the opacity of the current system

Don't forget to count in the rake too when comparing to other sites. Would be interesting to see players moving to where one gets significantly the better deal.

A site should just halve their rake and offer no rakeback whatsoever, and see which idiots still choose not to play there as they have no rakeback

Regulars get less rakeback than recs. So if you are playing your limit regulary you will get like 5% fix rakeback, but the recreationals at your limit will dump it back to you sooner or later. Isn´t this way the better way for keeping recs happy?

Management believes that less rakeback means less fish money gets withdrawn by regs. They most likely have stats to back that belief. I am doubtful it's so simple but that's been there policy the last couple of years. [Of most poker rooms]

If regs get 5% and recs 40% that does make sense from management perspective

Recs should get like 1000% rakeback, the poker economy would be booming.

I usually spend my star coins on cash rebates, but recently I noticed that Casino bonuses are 10% cheaper than cash rebates (you have to earn 1.5 redemption points per dollar though). Does anyone know if casino bonuses are a better deal than cash rebates?

Spend them to The Deal. I heard many people became rich from this skilled game.

I asked 3 lawyers and all agreed with you. That's the word/trap.

The problem with this thread is the underlying question - because PokerStars has been pretty open that the rewards program is not correlated with the amount of rake that you pay. Thus, describing the PokerStars rewards system in the context of the amount of rake that "you" pay doesn't make sense.

Instead, they appear to pay rewards in some proportion based on the amount of money that you (net) deposit.

Thus, some players will get a trivially small rakeback percentage, and some people will get a wonderfully huge (maybe even over 100%) rakeback percentage.

I heard that some chests contain wonderfully huge cans of spray paint.

Why do you imply such a bull****?! Stars tops out at 15-20% in case you are net-depositor and i'm pretty sure you know that. So why tell fairy tales?
