Haha I played pretty badly in that, I was already kind of drunk when I started playing it but whatever, I won.

Before they started raking the hypers, the chances of me making SNE this year were probably like 1% at best. Now 'll give it like 10% chance if there's no double vpp week, and like 80-90% if there is one. I'm pretty far behind pace as it is right now.

I mean pretty much anyone who plays them regularly is going to be pretty tough, otherwise they won't have the bankroll to play them for very long. Honestly I haven't even played them enough this year to even say much about who the best players are anymore, but if you see the same name in all of them you can usually assume they're a good player.

Who am I, Donald Trump? Actually that sounds kind of fun, I could have like 20 low stakes grinders on a reality show and then randomly fire some of them each week when they make a terrible play.

Forgive my noob question since I haven't ever played at Poker Stars, but if someone were to achieve SNE status (1 million VPPS?) how much $ is that equal to? How much "Rakeback" do you get paid out if you hit that milestone?

Thank you for your time =)

The exact amount varies based on what package you choose and other stuff but I think it's around 55-60% rakeback. If you want to know the exact amount you should go to the supernova elite thread and look through the archives there; it's been answered numerous times.

what kind of notes do you take on players? i kind of have a bunch of made up abbreviations like oltb means open limp on the bubble, and such. do you mainly take notes on calling ranges including stack, position, amt of players left or do you stick to when players make big mistakes to take notes?

nice well, thx!

I mostly make note of when a player plays hands differently than what is 'normal', like if someone open limps AA while 5bb deep I'd probably note that. There are some players who would open limp KK or AA in that kind of spot, and others that might limp weaker hands in that spot, but there are very very few who would limp both monsters and weak hands in that spot, and it's good to know which is which.

Hahahahahahahahaha I played 37 events at wsop this year and cashed in exactly 0 of them. Luckily I had 3 different horses have 6 figure scores though so I actually came out ahead.

S'ok George,I'm lobbying the WSOP for a shortstack hyper-turbo just for us to play in next year, we'll clean up..

Jorj,
not to be repetitive but thanks for doing this well, great read. as for my questions:

1) Are you still not playing the high stakes sngs, or have you got back into them?

2) How much of the fact that sngs at the highest stakes drying up would you blame on the recent growth of sng specific training sites like snggrinders.com, ect as oppose to say a few years ago when there was nearly no sng coaching content at all?

hope those makes sense

1) I've played high stakes sngs maybe 3 days total since January unless you count the hypers.

2) I think this is the primary factor in why the games suck now. I mean realistically sng strategy isn't all that hard once you know it, but when everyone knows the basic strategy it's really hard to get much of an edge in them. I think the training sites have made all poker games a lot harder than they used to be, not just sngs...it's just so easy to get reasonably good pretty quickly with all the information available now.

say i have about 60 Buy ins at the $5.50 level that i'm starting up, how many tables do you recommend i should start multi-tabling with? i'm pretty decent with ICM and bubble play. Is 4 tabling good for the bankroll i'm at?

I mean really, you can probably figure that out better than I can. Ultimately you want to play as many tables as you can where it doesn't hurt your overall performance. It's better to make $1 per table on 12 tables than $2 per table on 4 tables. But to start, 4 tables seems like a good number, then when you get comfortable you can add more in later and see how it works. Good luck.

I'm not sure yet, I'm a little behind pace right now (about 450k) but I'll probably get it if they have a double vpp week. If they don't I'd say the chances are probably like 50/50. Realistically if I'm at like 800k vpp going into December it would be kind of silly for me not to get it, but if I'm at like 600k I'm not going to kill myself over it either.

I really wasn't planning on getting it again until the 100k WSOP bonus showed up in my account and then I realized I'm really not that far behind pace. Damn you Scotty.
