I have just come out of a tournament on Party Poker in a very peculiar way.

So I had to leave the computer, took longer than expected so I missed a couple of hands, I don't make a habit of that but my wife is pregnant so a call through to the living room in the middle of the night must be answered or I risk serious repercussions! No big deal though, hit "I am back", fold/post blind box unchecked, ready to go. Except, it seems I'm apparently not ready to go, I get folded out of the next hand, and the next, and the next and so on. Nothing I can do, I'm getting blinded out and I just have to sit and watch.

I googled the problem and got nothing back, has anyone had this happen to them before? What the hell was going on? And what exactly am I meant to do? I had a good stack, blinds were high and I'm almost in the cash. In the end I eventually scraped the lowest payout but so many good hands were auto-folded right before my eyes with me sat there helpless!

Aside to this, something else occurred as a result of the problem. I began speaking to the table to see if anyone there had come across this or was having any connection issues or problems with the software. I got absolutely nothing back from anyone, for about the last 20 minutes of my tournament life I was attempting to speak to them and not a single response. I looked at where they were all from, there was one Argentinian and the rest were all from different parts of Eastern Europe, Belarus, Ukraine, Latvia and Russia. Bear in mind it was 6am their time also. It did make me a little edgy when a table full of "people" did not respond in any form at all even when being directly spoken to (I was using there table names individually by the end). I wasn't angry, despite being very frustrated, or anything like that with them but got nothing from a single person. Is that not strange?? Or is it just me? I don't know because I'm not a table talker, live or online, so never really engaged in conversation with people when I'm playing.

Just a quick addition. The tournament is now at the final table, There's one guy from New Zealand, Peru and the others are from the countries mentioned in the original post.

Whats the username?
Sounds like you dropped connection when leaving the table
A quick log out and back on resolves

If you can provide the username I will look into the issue in full and confirm

Regarding chat, many of the players on pp do not use the chat option
Agreed its not an optimal function however many players simply opt to remove or ignore the chat in full to concentrate in the game
I can assure you a silent table in no way reflects something sinister going on

I await your response re username - in the post or via PM, please

Thanks

Colette

Did you try closing down the poker client and restarting it? Probably would have been good to do so after it became apparent you weren't able to play your hands.

Yes, it's just you. Not sure where your thought process is on this - you say you don't chat, but when others don't, it's strange. You mention where they're from...I'm not sure why. Perhaps the glitch meant they couldn't see your chat, perhaps you were at a table of people that don't enable chat or didn't want to respond. Either way, this seems to be something of a red herring.

Maybe they weren't table talkers? Maybe most of them couldn't read or write English? Maybe they couldn't have cared less that you were disconnected and letting them take your blinds late in a long tourney?

First response, no wasting any time with you oddballs is there?

Did I say that? No, I didn't. Did I say it was rigged at any point? No I didn't. Are their bot rings in existence? Yes there are. Do they tend to originate from Eastern Europe? Yes they do. So crawl down off your high horse mate, I'm no rigtard, just rightly felt it was a bit odd that out of a table of 8 other people not a single person responded in 20/30 minutes to someone asking for a bit of help.

Idiot.

Just the combination of a whole group of people not responding, the requests for help not table banter, English being the universal language with a good number of Europeans speaking at least a small amount of English and the Eastern European thing, with all that I didn't think it was that out there to raise eyebrows a tad but apparently it is.

I have sent an e-mail in already. I have absolutely no idea why I didn't go out and back in again. I'm not sure I've ever been so bloody stupid in all my life, I just kept pressing the I'm back button at the start of each hand making sure the away/post blinds box was unchecked and then it would fold. Why I didn't try the oldest trick in the book with the turn it off and on approach again I'll never know. That's actually frustrated me more than the problem itself did now!
