Sporadic again today. Why does iPoker software take so long for new tables to open? Poker Stars takes like 3 seconds, iPoker takes about 25.. I swear it used to be way faster a few years ago

I'm staying off for a few hours today, had a game disconnect for about 10 minutes. Luckily my fish opponent gave me a nice gimmie double up and I took it down, but I can't tolerate disconnects that are their fault.

So I contacted support last week when they were having server issues. I lost a game because I couldn't connect to their network, yet my Poker Stars worked fine throughout. They said they'd reimburse me, and 3 times later talking to support they still haven't. Is this typical customer service on the iPoker network? It was only like $50 but still, I clearly got blinded out in 10 hands when I was a little bit up late in the game. Such bs...

Welcome to iPoker

Disconnections happen to everyone on an even and fair basis, are rather another part of the variance, so why should they care about reimbursing? Would you give them the money you win from a disconnected opponent?

That's different. If someone is disconnected because they cheaped out on internet, that's their problem. If my internet is working fine, I'm playing poker on other sites, and their network is not connecting, it's not anything on my end. The fact that they also admit this, and when I said I recorded it (which I did), they said it'd be reimbursed soon. Of course, they care not about their word it seems..

There are far more reasons for an iPoker disconnection than cheaping out on an ISP or computer setup... most reported DCs happened with other poker clients successfully running parallelly too and so were server-side or bugs in the iPoker client... and I meant mainly server problems that indeed affect players randomly.

Care to explain how my internet connection can work fine with Chrome, Poker Stars, and Full Tilt, yet iPoker is struggling to connect and it be my own fault? It also happens when other people on here are also complaining about not being able to connect. Most d/c's are from players with cheap internet in my experience.

It's not your fault, but it's better for iPoker to not bear responsibility for it because they'd get overloaded by complaints from everyone and lose tons of money. It's like 100% casino cashback - if you lose to a global server problem, you want them to pay, but if you win from a global server issue, you don't want to pay them (so that they have money to reimburse to the people who've lost to you because of this).

It's much like tilt: you remember mostly the moments when you've lost to what you think is unfair / rigged, but don't remember the moments when you got lucky.

I agree that iPoker should make eliminating disconnections a top priority because recreationals get frustrated by them even more, but they don't owe you anything apart from standard refunds when a tourney gets cancelled at all because of a server-side issue.

Technically if you think longer you get disconnected more.

Withdrew my cash and moved to 888 (pacific) after being offline for 2 days. Top marks to bet365 who did their best and rang me up to sort stuff out and troubleshoot the issue but there is clearly something badly wrong with ipoker that needs sorting.

Some of your logic here is incorrect:

-When I lose from my own internet connection, I never say anythiing and it almost never happens. When I lose because I can't connect to their server, yet I'm clearly able to access the internet, I believe they're at fault. If they want to make money from hosting our games, they are responsible for keeping things fair.

-Disconnections don't happen on an even and fair basis. I pay about $100 a month for a good internet connection. I probably win a dozen(probably more) d/c games a year, and lose maybe 1 or 2. HOWEVER, in this instance I'm referring to one where my own internet connection isn't at fault.

The main issue I see with this is that I've dealt with some skins who will flat out admit their internet was at fault, and give refunds. The current one I'm on is welshing and I think I'm actually switching because of it.

It reminds me of the Everest Poker days. I'd lost 4 games on the screen because of their internet, be online playing elsewhere while I'm waiting for them to come back, and their techical support tells me their servers haven't had any issues. Of course, this is why they had to merge with iPoker; they no longer had very many players.

Anyone else unable to log in? The login window comes up, but it never goes away and the client goes to 'Not Responding' after a while. Betfred Poker, in case it is skin specific.

Well didn't get my buyin refunded for the server issues last week... I got 2 buyins back! After my affiliate contacted them, they refunded a second game due to server issues (I was way ahead, came back and jammed like KQ for 1200 chips and lost to AK for 5bb effective. I didn't think to ask for it). So needless to say I'm quite pleased.

Anyone play at William Hill? How is the client and activity? Is depositing/withdrawing easy? They're first deposit bonus is enticing. I'm looking for 0.05/0.10 NL.

Theyre a good skin. But much better to get yourself a good affiliate deal than the first deposit bonus. Much much better.

These things aren't mutually exclusive, which is proven by advertisers in the 2+2 Affiliate/Rakeback subforum. It's true that VIP programs make me grind more than I'd want, but that's not a bad thing as I'm optimally rewarded doing so, plus so lazy that I wouldn't play at all otherwise.

William Hill is indeed not the most generous to high volume players among iPoker sites, but is a good start for microstake players raking $1200-2800 a month. I had a good time there.
