Just wanted to open the lines on here, as I'm leading a former PS team in launching a start-up known as 4Poker.

We're backed by a very large group of high stakes professionals, with combined Live and Online earnings literally in the hundreds of millions. Add to that a team of almost 100 staff with circa. 300 years in Stars experience, building and running the place.

The premise of the project is relatively simple. Give the players back a site that's arguably been missing since early SNE PokerStars and Full Tilt. That is, low rake, generous rakeback. We're starting on desktop to cater to the more serious player who have otherwise been neglected and abandoned if anything over the last few years, and have already run two $5k buy-in and one $1k buy-in events, and we're under a week old.

We're hoping to add more really attractive Guarantees (Overlays) and will have another big day this Sunday, but the tournaments product is days, not weeks old... so we are also treading carefully and putting out a very low stake (predominantly Freeroll) schedule during the weekdays, while we keep improving the product. Check it out.

The product itself... simple, robust. Focusing on the essentials, before adding the features we know players want. It's not bug free, but we didn't want to wait for perfection. We've opened our own forum for players to contribute to the project in real time, and always.

Would love to see the hardcore and vocal community such as you guys are, to give it a spin and test and let us know what you think. Plenty of freerolls live now, and either way, go and get your favourite UserID!

Been a long time since I've been anywhere near 2+2 since maybe before Black Friday, when I was the PokerStars olden days Director of Customer Service. That was back in the days when emails were fast, and occasionally amusing! Good luck at the tables.

He was founder, yep. Have over 30 other pros too though and with Ole Schemion, Art Martirosian and Fran Benitez as ambassadors, we’d hope to vote with our feet and show what selling points actually matter.

Whatever you think of Bryn, the team he’s assembled, particularly the developers and engineers are as serious as it gets so I’ve got nothing but respect for the guy, but I guess would say that!

Thankfully the high stakes community do too, so we needn't engage in, or get caught up with Polk or Zamani utter nonsense… but happy to hear anything else!

What countries is it available in?
edit - never mind, saw the list of banned countries. Australia not on the list but cannot download the software, what's up with that?

As an Australian, can't wait for the day we open up there, but remains a closed and pretty hostile market, especially as we have the 2 strongest Rest of World licenses and regulators, from Malta and Isle of Man.

New Zealand though?! :-)

We've opened everywhere we can, but some markets will need to stay closed (e.g. Australia, US), while others will need to wait for license (e.g. UK, Germany, Spain).

Do you have any plans to launch in India any soon?

Appreciate you pointing out this unclear Ts&Cs.

As we operate "global" licenses we are not obliged to include absolutely every/any country we choose not to operate in, and list as "prohibited". For example countries like Italy and Spain and many others offer in-country clear licensing for poker, so we won't go live on our current license.

That said, as for honest and keen players from around the world potentially getting burnt without knowing they were in breach of terms; we have blocking mechanisms that really won't allow that.

So while there may be in Ts & Cs an issue of clarity and transparency in all jurisdictions, it doesn't materialise into actual risk to the player thankfully, as the extended list beyond those listed in Terms as closed/prohibited are blocked in such a way that it would only be dishonesty and non-mistaken activity that gets a player around such blocks and resolution in such a case would be sensible and reasonable.


If we could get a Mod to create more of an Operator thread in the Online Sites section, like the many others - e.g. [4Poker Official Discussion] I will make my first post the current list of countries where play in unavailable.

Yes - India will be an open market imminently, and was only not open with the first wave of players, as we needed to understand some specific state blocks.

We are starting the cash low at 5c/10c in April because we actually give away a bunch of $25 cash credits daily to our early adopters through our Happy Hour at 4pm ET

We will take a look at games to as low as 1c/2c as liquidity picks up and we are not spreaded too thin, as we get further along in our rolling beta rollout and commence marketing (May/June)

We didn’t spend too much time on compatibility with the older versions where Microsoft themselves have ceased doing security updates, so for now you’ll probably see we only support operating systems that are still in support.

With an estimated 1-2% of users on version 8 and 8.1 we will keep an eye and ear out to ensure within the poker community the usage is not disproportionate. This sort of feedback/request really helps us.

Can you say if you have plans to operate in the other Asian markets? If so, I would say you have every chance of being able to compete with GG as players just want a fair and transparent platform.

Yes India we will open end of this week but will want to do some more work to make the product attractive.

Asia we will operate almost without exception. China/HK however are not live today.

Planning on allowing HUDs? If not will a simple one be included in the client?

HUD = No. We will be doing our best in terms of skill and integrity to have it represent pure poker as best we can, in replicating real-time and live decision making and it being a mind game.

Hand Histories = Yes. And we have quite a tidy Integrated replayer and visualizer and ability to self-serve.

In terms of the intent here, I think if we consider anything in this space in future (subject to request and demand), it would be some form of self-improvement tooling where we do a good job of providing what you want to see about your own play, but have little interest in that if your opponents.

Likely to be more next year, but we will eventually roll out Masterclasses with Professional players as a loyalty feature and so a stance on HUDs is not one of not wanting to arm players with information

Agree our current design finished second to making sure server-side things were robust. Wanted it to be clean and able to enhance easily enough, no more. Literally has just brought on a new head of Design so optimistic of some near term changes.

In fact over the next couple of months, I think you'll see a step change; Hot Keys, Filters, Player Notes, Themes, Show Cards, Deal Tool - to name a few.

Quite a lot of known essentials to make the tournaments product more attractive and compelling/competitive. Keep the asks and ideas coming through to keep us honest.

Who is the middle man in this context?

we're making sure there is no game where rake is cheaper elsewhere, and adding to that launch promotional 50% rakeback and 25% cash back after that ... redeemable daily - not through random chests or spinning wheels.

In April at 4PM ET in the spirit of "4" we are giving additional cash back to our Cash Back system and offering rake free SNG and in cash we are at all times rake-free in any heads-up play, so if you ever get stuck starting a game with just one other for a while, while we have low liquidity... will be at no benefit to us or cost to you.

This would be for probably quite a way down the road if at all. But I personally really like GG staking system for MTT's...personally in my opinion probably one of their better features. Of course that would probably come with a simply HUD like GG's or at least something like PokerCraft.

Currently only playing at Pokerstars.

Anyway registered and looking forward to seeing this site grow/develop. I miss the how good the old Pokerstars support was you guys were amazing.

Effectively your bank, where money owed to players is sitting earning you interest while they wait for rakeback payments. I will never, ever understand sites that say "ZOMG 50% RAKEBACK" when instead of charging 5% rake they could just charge 2.5% rake and I get the "rakeback" instantly

Will you be adding deposits/withdrawals in crypto?
