Thanks for the info Adjusted. We now know why the botting traffic is down today. Unless they come out and say it I'm not sure how we could find out what the specific countries being blocked are.

Bot traffic was back to business as usual overnight. Now I'm not sure what to think. Maybe the overnight crew hopped on VPNs or something. Either that or the evening crew are all from a temporarily blocked country while the overnight crew aren't.

I assume you're using hack as a catch-all for service interruptions caused by an outside source, but I don't believe anyone has said that they were actually hacked. From all indications they are getting DDOSd repeatedly. It's unlikely that anyone's money or information is at risk with a DDOS unlike being hacked which could lead to personal information being compromised.

I actually dont know what that term DDOS mean, but a poker room, which cant solve a problem like this since almost a week isnt really best place to me where i leave my money. I will probably continue playing there, but for now...

That is totally understandable. You can never be too safe when it comes to having your money online.

DDOS = distributed denial of service. Basically many different zombie computers are being used to try to access the site all at once. This overwhelms the network and causes issues for everyone else trying to use it.

But why can players from x region have access on services while the other areas cant?

I can't say for sure because I'm not that knowledgeable about these things. A complete guess would be that those are the countries they've identified as to where the majority of the zombie computers are located. Shutting down access from those countries would limit the effect of the DDOS.

I'm guessing they're refusing to pay whoever is doing it and instead are trying to fix the issue as it's happening. Many sites just pay because it's cheaper and less work. That may be smart in the short-term, but in the long-term it's going to happen again and again. Better to fix it sooner than later, but it may also be better to pay this time so that it stops. Then immediately get to work so that it doesn't happen again. I would be slightly suprised if the asking price was more than what they've lost not being able to take regular action during March Madness. It's one of the biggest betting times of the year.


I would guess it's some group of douchebags demanding a ransom and not a competitor site. That is a complete guess though. Khan might know a little bit more since he has contacts who work there. I don't know if he'd be willing to share any more information than he already has, but you could ask.


I also noticed in the filters that they have .10/.20 listed which isn't a nlhe stake on the network, but don't list .10/.25. Not a big deal though. It's certainly better than it was.

The magnitude of modern attacks are mind-blowing. We are talking MILLIONS of devices world-wide hammering a site to the point the ISP itself doesn't have a fat enough pipe to fight back.

This isn't as simple as installing Cloudflare and forgetting about it. Although that is one option, and is used by some sites, there are some data issues that have to be addressed before a gambling company can let any old 3rd party provider intercept all of their incoming traffic...

Remember boys and girls, just a couple years ago DDoS took down US.gov sites, as well as two huge technology sites, Microsoft and Sony. Since then, the bot attacks have grown much stronger. The IoT is not secure and is being weaponized by groups with malicious and criminal intent.

I'm on, but there are only about 700 players on right now, so there must be some kind of issue.

It's very weird that different people get a different experience.
I almost never experience any problems when trying to log in. Sometimes there are some connection issues, but for a very short time.
Maybe Tigergaming gets less downtime than Betonline?

I play at BetOnline. I have had very few issues this whole time other than accessing the main site. The mobile site has worked for me for the most part. I was only booted off the poker client once or twice and I wasn't able to login once or twice. Maybe certain regions were affected more?
