I experienced the same exact issue yesterday. It happened about 3-4 times. I tried to consciously remember not to close out the tables. I just minimized them and waited for a break in action to close them. It didn't happen every time and seemed to stop happening during the overnight hours. I run a HUD and nothing else.

Long term having 4 table max favors a fish friendly ecosystem, meaning action will last longer.

Short term its obv worse

4-tabling FRCGs sounds awful. Of course it kills them. You're essentially telling the regs to piss off.

I'm sure that's quite possible. Of course, that's not what the post I responded to was saying.

I noticed that stack as well. How could you not? I've played with him a bit. I haven't talked to him, but I don't believe he's a bot. He doesn't have the stats. All of the bots recently disappeared. He also wins MTTs too. I played with him in both an MTT and cash games in the past 24hrs. Bots usually only play one format. I think he's just a solid reg running well and picking his spots well.

About a week ago there was a recreational player(vp-60 pfr-30) who sat with $1100+ at 100nl. I paid his aggro ass off with a flopped set 300bb deep when he limp called preflop with 46off utg and hit the straight on the turn. He gave it all back by the end of his session. Unfortunately I was not the beneficiary. Sometimes people just run hot no matter their overall skill level.

So after reading the thread and the most recent changes, been thinking about redepositing on BOL again. How are you guys finding the changes? I know traffic is down, but is it really reg infested now at NL25 & NL50 and up? How many rec players to regs are there per table it seems? Are the games good?

Thanks

is BOL shutting down tourneys that might not make the GTD? there was $2.25 that started at 12:30 with late reg, and a minute later I got a popup "this tournament is closed" and it's no longer available

I’m assuming the tournament didn’t hit the minimum player requirement.

you're right, the min. was 25... I just assumed it wouldn't be that high (there were 14 reg.)

Other than the bots being gone the last few days and the traffic decline I doubt you'll notice much of a difference in the cash games. It's not like a whole bunch of recreational players said "4 table limits and no bots? SWEET!" and then deposited. There's times when the games are pretty good and other times when it's pretty dead. Playing at peak traffic hours is always your best bet.

I can't speak to MTTs overall, but the low buyin ones seemed pretty good yesterday.

Honestly, and I mentioned this in the Ignition thread: I'm finding 25NL here on BetOnline considerably softer and more profitable than Ignition. I have only a small sample size but the differences are pretty stark. Here on BO, players are extremely lagfish and aggro on the flop. It's much, much easier to build a pot and GII on the flop or turn against these guys than it is on Ignition at times.

I missed out on the reload bonus back around Easter but I do know from the past that the bonuses here (along with Horizon) are the best for US players. Easy to clear and worth the deposit. When they offer another one, I'll most definitely be taking advantage of it.

edit: IIRC, the rake structure here is better, no?

Even when the games were bot infested I was averaging double digit bb/100 over 50k hands at 25nl here. If you're someone who plays 25nl I'd definitely recommend them when there's good traffic. Even offpeak hours will have some spewy players.

Check Khan's site for the rake information. From what I recall it's pretty close at most stakes, but a few different stakes are better at one or the other site.

I hadn't played on WPN in a while (since just after the New Year) and I'm infinitely better than I was even then but it's much, much softer over there than I remember. I was playing 2 and 5NL on there and although I crushed 2 eventually, I was battling at 5. Although I'm playing 25NL elsewhere, I'd never even played 10NL on WPN so I fired up a few tables. Right away I run into a guy donating and just judging by the other plays I saw being made: It's really soft there now and has rakeback. I'll have to give it a further look and see if I start playing volume here again.

It's 10NL, not nl2. Didn't you read the hand history?

Further, if you're going to be stacking off in that spot like villain did, you'll be playing 2NL for a long, long time.

1) They removed them about 2-3 weeks ago.

2) It depends on where you're at with the game right now. I can totally understand why a 2-5NL player who is building their role wouldn't be happy to fire up the server and see this change. That said, it's made the 10NL+ games far more profitable and loose than they would be otherwise. Try to get to 10NL and 25NL as soon as possible. Progressive Rake Race begins at 25NL, along with the BBJ.

As far as I know 2+2 stopped promoting ACR, BCP and other sites that belong to WPN.

Here is an unofficial thread https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/2.../index493.html

BBJ starts at 100nl.
