Gotcha. I misunderstood.

What do you mean by some players? (you aren't talking about the 5% VIP which is only on tiger and not BOL) -(and i don't really get how affiliates would exist for this site unless i am missing how affiliate sites make money - or is it adding as little as up to 5% sort of region - combining to 10%)

Word got around games were soft and cashouts were speedy.
I joined the site at the end of July and I was like holy jesus mother of god what blessing has wrought this beautiful poker site upon me. Like a couple of regs and multiple fish on each table.

Basically the company blasted a bunch of marketing all over social media directed at Americans (an aggressive strategy that hasn't really been used by other companies afaik) and it appears these efforts brought out a lot of recreational players from the woodwork that hadn't played poker since BF or had gotten fed up with Ignition. The PayPal cashouts helped add a layer of legitimacy/comfort bc most middle aged ppl have used PayPal for financial stuff for years, and cba to bother with bitcoin crap.

Anyway, after I returned from being on vacation for most of August, the site was still good, albeit there were some new regs. But from September onwards its gotten progressively worse, like every day there's some new reg, and at this point it's basically not super different than any other poker site (limited action at most stakes >200nl, very competitive for seats, some reg battling going on, one fish per table, etc.).

Recently I've been coaching some young bloods in online MTT's. I play mostly live cash, but like to mess around online in the evenings on BetOnline. I've been using BetOnline to watch them and critique their play. I have my guys grinding micro MTT's and then we talk hands after.

One of my guys needed to deposit and found that the minimum deposit had been increased to $50, from the original $25 minimum he deposited a month ago. I got in touch with support and received the most convoluted confusing answers I've ever gotten from any of these sites.

https://imgur.com/a/tVBNa

I'm at a loss with this organization. They have done some extremely shady stuff in the past, and I've taken note and moved on. But is this for real? I understand I can play elsewhere, I'm just blown away by this.

It seems like they're targeting certain people for more money. I checked with my other student, and his deposit is still limited at a $25 minimum. It really seems like one of my guys is being targeted as a fish, or something I'm not seeing. Has anyone else had any curious encounters with Chico in particular?

For the record, I have never had cashout problems or customer service problems yet. They are always polite, and quick.

However their bot infestation is the main reason I dislike their site and if they fix that I would be happy to continue playing there

That Bad Beat Jackpot is getting pretty big. It's probably one of the reasons for the recent increase in botting accounts. The 25nl bots likely have nothing to do with that, but I see the 50nl bots playing up at the 100nl BBJ tables as well.

I've never had any issue with cashing out. And the bots if I've played against them have never been crushers in my opinion, though I don't play past 100nl on BetOnline. I'm just concerned they are particularly targeting specific people.

If the chat rep had told me to go F myself, I would have been less suspicious than the seemingly purposely confusing conversation I had with him. I'll adjust accordingly, I just wanted to see if anyone else had experienced something similar, or if they might even be able to tell me if they're capped at a $50 minimum as well.

If you've played on the network you've played against them. I don't know how good the tournament bots are, but some of the 25nl and 50nl cash game bots are crushers at those stakes.

That's very interesting. I do quite a bit of hand review from BetOnline MTT's. I've always wondered if some of those regs that pull in a living wage from MTT's alone were just bots. Some accounts play 10+ hours a day, literally every single tournament. I think I'll consider reassessing where I play my games.

If they don't want to properly maintain what is quite literally a money printing machine, there are plenty of other places that do.

Do they share very similar stats in most areas over large sample sizes? Are they playing 10+ hours a day every day of the week? Have you ever tried to talk them and they never respond? If the answer to all 3 is yes then there is no doubt in my mind the account is botting.

It's all about greed. I'd have little to complain about if they just removed it from the rules. As long as they're going to BS people who are giving them their money I feel it necessary to call them out.

I was out of Tigergaming for a year and came back. Read about the bots on 2+2 and asked support about it. This was there response:

"This is Gunter from Customer Support, I trust this finds you well.

Thank you for contacting us today, please note we do not have bots on our website as our poker software has a built-in security feature that disallows any player who is running bot software."

I also asked if players are compensated for playing against bots. But again, the answer was: there are no bots and there will be no compensation.

I've given them tons of damning information and evidence on the botting accounts. When you ask why the accounts are still playing on the network with regards to my previously provided evidence they respond with "We can not give you information into an investigation." I don't GAF about your BS investigation! Why are you allowing bot accounts to overrun the network while you have a rule stating they're not allowed and support lying to people about their existence!?!

Seems to me maybe Gunter is a bot himself. Time to rename this BotOnline!

So the reg grinders I track seem to be regular Joe's. I chat them up and they talk back. They're generally friendly and responsive. They do have an odd playing style that I guess conforms to the unique structure of the MTT's, and someone who is playing 10+ tables.

Generally I see a lot of those guys playing extremely tight early on. I'm talking a sub 10 VPIP until they have 15-20BB's and we're nearing the mid stages. Then they start shoving roughly Q10off+ from any position. If they make the money bubble they tend to wake up and play ABC late stage poker. some of those guys have a pretty good ROI so I guess it works.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I have seen some pretty clear collusion in SNG's as far as the same players playing together and keeping each other alive. But they're just terrible so it doesn't bother me. Hope this helps.

I think I'm done with this site. There's some iffy stuff going on besides just the user bots.

Place is gonna eat itself if they don't clean up the bs.
