That is strange. Works fine for me. What kind of computer do you have? Did you try reinstalling the software?

Re: *** Unofficial Bovada Thread ***

Not trying to piss people off but for whatever reason I'm relatively immune to these problems most people are having re: freezing, etc.

A few times I have gone to register for something only to find that the Register button does nothing when I click. I close the client, reopen, and everything is fine. A bit annoying but no big deal, and this happens prob once every 10 times or so that I open the client (and I feel like it happens when I leave the client open in between sessions, so for a prolonged period). Other than that, the BJ client is really glitchy and forces me to reload the app much more than poker (prob one in every four tries), but maybe they're trying to get me to save my money lol

Again, I know it kinda sucks but at least one person (myself) is having a relatively hassle-free time besides the obv downsides inherent in playing on the site (slow action, no seat options, anon, etc).

And no, I'm not a shill. Pretty obv that Bovada can't even afford the concept of decent CS, highly doubt they're giving props to people to say nice things. Kinda like giving someone money to bail water out of the Titanic with a teacup..

FWIW i'm not on any special machine either. I'm using an HP laptop I picked up 6 months ago for $500 with no adjustments :/

Yup, retried a few times. Only left a small amount on there, switching or just going live

So far the client has been pretty stable, up until today. But today my client has crashed 4 times over a 2 hour span. Has anyone else had similar problems?

I have been playing on it all day without problems. Try re-booting your computer or downloading the software again. I've been playing both cash and MTT's.

Ummm I'm not talking droolfest double up tournaments.

I've played on bodog without a HUD for cash games and did fine after they had a major update that caused HEM and PT3 to not work for a couple of weeks. With this new update I'm not doing that well. The games aren't fun anymore, it goes even slower with the new software, it's just overall negative playing experience.

Just for fun I thought I'd summarize all of the "improvements" from the latest bovada release.

1) anonymous play - allows potential for collusion, bots, etc. Did not eliminate hud ability completely. Got rid of things like avatars and location display which fish loved to discuss.
2) eliminated ability to see mucked cards even tho u can ask to see them at casino.
3) reduced sound options to all or nothing
4) if u have sound on then the alert goes off when the hand starts being dealt rather than when it is your action. Causes tons of players to timeout.
5) removed the 3/4 pot option.
6) removed the already crappy rakeback option of converting pts to cash and offer pts to tourney toys instead. Awesome benefit for cash players like myself.
7) whenever you are in the middle of typing something clever in the chat box and another table pops up it clears what you have typed.
8) the hero is not in the same spot on each table and the highlight of your seat is so faint you time out trying to find out your position before u can act.
9) table windows are even more laggy
10) lobby is even more laggy when clicking on what u thought was a table w open seats
11) balance takes forever to update when u close your tables. Sometimes u have to relaunch.
12) there's no longer a warning sound right before u are about to timeout.
13) the lobby doesn't save what games and stakes you left unchecked the next time u log in.

Merry Christmas to us courtesy of Bodogada.

Who cares about all that -- shouldn't we all rejoice we no longer have to log in twice (every time!)? You have to try to see the bright side.

Update -- you can see mucked cards again.

I never have any lag problems at all and I have the cheapest, year old $300 + $40 more for dual core Dell. Maybe some of you ought to give up on your six year old computers like I did -- just saying.

Doesn't apply for me at all, the software is actually pretty fast and lobby updates within ~ 5 seconds. How old is your computer?

With the anonymous tables has note-taking been disabled? I haven't played here in awhile, have 1k just sitting on there and think I will run it up to a few million. I can't take notes though, wtf

No one ever asks at a live table to see a mucked hand, this couldn't be worse poker etiquette and never occurs.

It's a west coast thing - spend more than one hour at any table in Vegas or LA and you WILL see at least one request to see hand. Usually at least a couple such requests per hour at Commerce in the low limit games. Poor etiquette, sure - but there's no time wasted in flipping up the cards once requested, and the floor has told me straight out that there's pretty much no abuse level - only if someone asked more than a few hands per hour would they consider giving them a warning.

It stays on the Bodog network and shares the traffic, but all players from the US have been switched from Bodog to Bovada.

And nope, it is not the same customer service anymore.

P.S. hint: Becky doesn't work for MMGG.

Any regs out there still binking away on the MTTs? Say the word and I'll be back to 100% again.

I'm not saying it is rigged, in fact I doubt it, but it is hard not to get frustrated and wonder if you are getting fleeced when things go very badly. I hate this anonymous bull****, and to find out some of you are circumventing it by using holdem indicator only makes it more frustrating.

5th in the $500 guaranteed last night. Just about everything went right. I picked up some good hands which held up, stole some blinds, took down some pots with c-bets, opened 77 from MP flopped a set and got paid, won some flips (and lost the last one, but at least I made it past the 2nd break this time). So I'm back up to 100% sure it's not rigged.

take that stuff to the poker is rigged thread plz
Under the circumstances, I believe this thread is appropriate. Unless of course we can have a separate rigger thread for bovada/bodog. So far we have 5 who think some funny business is going on and 1 who is winning but admits 60 of 62 flips going his way.

Maybe it is not rigged but has been hacked. Is it really that far fetched for a bodog quality server to get hacked? Could also be house bots or just our imagination, but either way is good to get some feedback from others. Just a safeguard from all of us getting fleeced while silently feeling the shame.

You sound paranoid. How can you expect to play good poker if that's in the back of your mind? Time to switch site IMO.

Certainly it's possible that "people taking lines that are weirder than usual" is because the plan to get more bad players on the site is WORKING.

However, I don't shun off all thoughts about the corruption that the software may allow.

I thought I remembered a mention of the "transparent" cards that are sometimes displayed for a single person when that person is still in the hand. I'm kind of suspicious of this as well. So far I've been to a couple of tables where this happened, and it seemed like the person was hitting an inordinate number of flops/whatever. But, lolsamplesize. Has anyone else noticed this?
