Re: Unofficial Bodog/Bovada/Ignition Thread

Yes today has been bad. I imagine with the roll out of the new chat its what is crashing the poker client. I also had to manually join each of my tables this morning. First load either wouldn't load or would miss a hand. I was getting bounced in and out some this morning until finally it crashed mid hand in SnG. Let me back in after closing and reopening the client. Came back into the same hand to have it freeze again. When I restarted the client this time it was giving me the connection error crap when the rest of my internet worked fine. Took me about 3 min to get back in and then my SnG wasn't even available anywhere to rejoin. No way I blinded out in a few min with low blinds and couldn't find the table or history either. I emailed them and got an auto response about high customer support volume. I was think shocking right. So I will wait to hear from them before I play any more right now. Like IMMEUR said I was one of those disconnected guys losing my money.

also funny that they gave us the ability to mute players while simultaneously taking away the ability to say anything you'd want to mute

So much this. No more being able to prod the semi-tilted into full on, light your stack on fire mode with stuff like "I feel sorry for people related to you" or "How does one who plays as poorly as you even come into money to deposit on this site." Sigh.

Right - and in doing so you identify yourself, and they then activate the doomswitch.

I had to call them this time. Not to complain about the chat but to get myself back up and running. With Windows, I had a problem after this most recent patch that took several calls to customer service and several hours of troubleshooting to resolve.

There's a glitch in the most recent patch where some users will, after trying to update to the new version, continue to have their software try and open up the lobby with the old software. It creates a conflict and although Ignition.exe can be seen running in Task Manager, there's absolutely nothing you can do with it.

You have to go into your computer and manually delete the Ignition file after you formally uninstall Ignition. THEN you can reinstall the software and the old data will be completely gone and the new data will be able to run freely.

Just thought I'd post this here to save someone else the time/trouble to go through this and eventually figure it out.

As for the chat being removed: I've been on this network since it switched to Ignition and although I can live with this change, I don't see the point. As someone else pointed out: They had/have much bigger fish to fry than spending time on things like this. It's almost a slap in the face to us when they spend time issuing a patch for something so meaningless and unimportant when there's a dozen other critical issues that could be addressed.

It's quite likely that WPN and BetOnline may catch up to Ignition at some point. They just continue to grow and improve while Ignition continues to have chronic issues. Further, we are extremely feature light on Ignition and it really feels like we're playing on an outdated network at this point.

I don't think it's a secret that we're all playing here for one reason: It's soft as soft gets. As more users leave Ignition and join the other sites, those sites will naturally become softer, as well. So, in the end, Ignition just gets pushed to the wayside.

There's plenty of bots on this network too. They're just not as noticeable because of the anonymous structure, table limts, and the amount of recreational players. Location restrictions and software issues are also key factors. I still think many would be surprised at the actual amount if we lifted the anonymous veil.

Re: Unofficial Bodog/Bovada/Ignition Thread

i have on several occasions registered for a sng where the table opens, loads to 97% and stops. I can close the table, and use the 'take my seat' button in the sng lobby to relaunch the table and yet it still just loads to 97%. with the lobby still open i can see the game running, as i get blinded off. But i'm unable to get the table to load to 100%.

Does this happen to anyone else? Does anyone have a suggestion of what to do?

I have closed the Ignition client hoping that when i sign back in, the table will launch as I'm in an active game, however the table doesn't open and the client lobby doesn't show active games. I am unable to participate in the sng I have registered for and paid for.

Does anyone have an explanation for why this happens and what to do?

i know when it has happened that my connection to the internet has not been interupted, however Ignition Customer Services tells me that the tournament logs "show that you were disconnected from our servers; however, we can assure you that this wasn’t a connection issue on our side as the other seated player was able to continue on with the game." they go on to say "Disconnections are unavoidable. When you connect to the internet, you may experience lags or loss of your connection that usually happen very quickly. This short period is enough to affect how you're connected to our games and cause errors while playing."

they don't recommend a way that i can recover from 'an unavoidable short term server interruption' to get the table open. it seems ridiculous not to have a way to recover from an 'unavoidable interruption'.
its ludicrous to think that anyone would continue to register to play if the possibility (likelihood?) that an unavoidable occurrence might occur that has you forfeiting the sng.

Suggestion anyone??

FWIW i'm playing Ignition on an ethernet cable connected Windows computer with FIOS.

If there are bots on bovada they’re ****ing terrible. Still the softest site out there by far (except maybe global which I haven’t played on so can’t say)
