[Unibet] Official Thread
David does a good job, but seems he only comes on once a month or so.
Hi. I want to ask do you consider to increase amount of cash game tables player can play at once? If yes when and to what amount, if no, why?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
Hopefully the answer will be, if you want more action play higher stakes.
I'd prefer 9 tables instead of 8. It's somewhat annoying to have a 3x3x2 layout and 2x4 isn't effective on my 15" screen.
How do you manage to read player names 9 tabling on 15" screen?
.. because the player names are the important bits of information on the screen
9 max tables makes sense based on the way they tile now. Any more and the age old arguments of slowing the game down by mass multitabling and opening infinite tables in order to bumhunt the pool will just come back

Is it possible to play Unibet in the USA? I might be going for 2 weeks this winter... Thx
Can we do something with the sat payouts as well?
I was in a €2 r/a sat for a €25 ticket over the weekend where the client showed that 10/11 players that entered got €2 back and the winner got a ticket. I understand that you might want to pay out tickets instead of cash as booby prizes but can we not make it x times €2 ticket for 2nd and y times for 3rd or something?
I don't think handing out the leftover pool to lots is bad but if you finish 2nd or 3rd after a possible r/a then getting €2 back from your €4+ investment after an hour or more is not a very enjoyable experience. Nobody wants the sats to be grindable for profit but in a situation like the one I saw you could give out 5x €2 for 2nd, 3x for 3rd and still be able to pay out another 3 people €2 tickets.
Edit: +1 to LektorAJs idea about table size. In general there needs to be some sort of universal structure to sats. Sometimes you get 6-max sometimes it's 9-max. Much like the rest of the schedule, no two MTTs seems to be the same even when they are named the same.

I'm not that much in love with the MTT schedule.
Also self-interested but it needs more events timed to suit people like me with jobs and families (i.e. mostly depositing fish) who on weekdays get time to play only e.g. 20:30 to midnight CET.
Particularly don't like how the MTT blind structures actually get slower as you get further into the tournament (e.g. there is I think 700/1400 but no 70/140) which makes the length of time you play wildly longer if you actually finish in the top few positions and therefore makes the potential time commitment much longer every time you sit down. It should be the other way round with the structure speeding up as you get closer to the end.
A few months ago I suggested a tournament that would play reasonably slow but then just double the blinds each level when it got to about midnight CET. Still think it would be a good idea if the name pushed that particular selling point.

People who play turbo aren't that interested in nice blind level transitions anyway, they just want to join a game that they know won't take too long.
Yesterday I played a turbo MTT with the old blind levels structure (500/1K, 600/1.2K, 800/1.6K, 1K/2K instead of 500/1K, 600/1.2K, 700/1.4K, 800/1.6K, 900/1.8K, 1K/2K) and I just like it more. Those old blind levels suit turbo MTT's better because it caters to players who want to play a fast tournament anyway.
I would just keep the slow blind level transitions for the normal or slow MTT's because the players who play those MTT's like to have more room to play but exclude these structures from the turbo MTT's.

^^ I can read them pretty good. My resolution is 2880x1800 though.
The fonts have never scaled well though and it's always been an issue for some players.

anyone got an issue with lobby constantly "trying to reconnect" while you can still play on the tables open?
Can't connect ("trying to reconnect") the last 15 minutes, but was working 30 minutes ago. Problem is on Unibet end.
I assume system overwhelmed from guys playing the decetennial freeroll that started a few minutes ago.
EDIT: Just allowed to log in 1:34pm EST.

Yeah same thing, can't get back still. Always nice to build big stacks and then this Oh well, if there's one company I trust with somewhat adequate refunds it's Unibet. Although I've been waiting for a week to have another similar issue solved from last weekend when I was HU in a donkament, software kicked me out and I got blinded out for a short while. Today's been way worse tho, got kicked out 4 times within 2 hours, lobbies and tables lagged, couldn't tell how many players were left in a tournament or even what my hand was and software made me shove my cards from a previous hand as they hadn't gotten updated. Every other site works like a charm. Sigh
edit: Bunch of my friends are in and playing with no problems from the same country. Goddamnit this is really tilting now. This already made be bust 10x starting stack runs and now I've been sitting out forever. Always nice to get to go on raging lifetilt in the middle of a Sunday

I am playing in the decitennial freeroll, but I cannot see the tourney nor the Unibet lobby (doesn't even show how much money I have). It is all black, but the tourney is running fine for me (I'm too afraid to log out for fear I can't log back in).
The information tab on the left is also blank so no idea how many entered tourney or are left. I guess I will find out once I win it all LOL.

Rep on Community site saying restart will sort it now. Worked for me.
Can you please stop running large freerolls? It's been a surefire way to butt**** the servers for as long as I can remember.

My aim to post here regularly hasn't gone to plan so far. We have a lot of things that absolutely have to be sorted before the end of the year here and a lot of my time and effort has had to go into them, as a result it's meant that I've been delaying posting on 2+2 until I've had more time and suddenly a month has passed. I'm really sorry about that. For now I think it's realistic to say that I should be able to post here once a week but if I continue to struggle to update the thread in the longer term it may be that another Unibet rep can update here regularly and I pop in to answer some of the questions on the direction we're taking as a business every 2-4 weeks.
While I was gone we had a software release which seemed to have caused a few issues for some players, can those affected let me know if they're still having problems? If you haven't already, the manual solution will be to download the client again directly from our site. Massive thanks to SleazyP84 for basically answering everything while I have been out of the thread!
I'll respond to specific posts below but also wanted to update you on some changes which will be implemented over the coming months and give a bit of a review of 2017 and plans for next year:
- On 1st January 2018 we are planning to remove NL800 and PL800 from the lobby due to the negative impact these games are having on our ecology. Since launching these games in March we've found that we haven't seen a significant uptick in new players at those stakes, but we have seen our losing players die off quicker. These stakes are difficult to build into promotions because the prize money isn't so attractive relative to buyins at these stakes and there isn't much of a gain in rake either, mostly we are cannibalising our NL400 and PL400 playerbase. We will be contacting players who have had a rough ride at NL800 and PL800 over the year and giving them something extra.
- In late Jan/early Feb, we will be launching a VIP edition of Double Trouble. This will be an invite-only 18 player MTT each week where the 18 players losing the most the week before (in cash games and SNGs) will share a €10,000 prizepool, with all entrants being guaranteed a prize. This goes hand in hand with removing the higher stakes games and managing the ecology at higher stakes.
- I'd also like to launch a regular (most likely weekly) promotion which recognises the biggest winners at each stake and gives them incentive to move up in stakes. The date for this to go live is TBD.
- The World Cup will be a huge time for us, especially as we're primarily a Sportsbook company and it will present us with a big opportunity to bring new players over to the poker site. We're already building towards that event and have some really cool new features and promotions lined up
- We'll run our first real MTT Series in early 2018 and Leo is continuing to optimise the regular and major schedule. We have a lot of wastage in qualifier overlays and the aim is to save this money and redistribute it in MTT promos which have more of an impact. As a first step in that direction, UK Tour qualifiers are being overhauled from today, with three weekly packages being awarded in a single Saturday final rather than six over the course of four finals each week.
- We had a plan to generate more PR around our platform in 2017 and we didn't achieve our goals there. We have a new plan for 2018 and feel that we have more items on the roadmap to shout about, which should result in the continued growth of the site.
- We'll be accepting Irish players once again in 2018, the current estimate is sometime in January or February. Ireland has the potential to be a significant market for us so this should benefit everyone.
- In the longer term, we are beginning to investigate a potential shake-up of the loyalty system (would most likely launch in 2019). The aim would be to go further in rewarding losing players whilst still rewarding loyal, regular players. There is no plan to cut the loyalty system, a disclaimer I feel necessary to add since changes to loyalty systems in the last few years have often meant cuts. We'll be surveying players heavily as part of this but if anyone has any feedback on the current system they'd like to share then please feel free to do so in this thread.
- We're also exploring the addition of a 'personal Hall of Fame' section in the client, basically a section which tracks your milestone achievements within the client (biggest cash game pot won, bounties collected in MTTs, times cashed, MTTs won, SNGs won, etc) and which could possibly become shareable over time to add more competitive elements among friends. I'm also really keen to hear any feedback on this idea and whether or not it would add to your enjoyment of the site.
- We ran personalised missions for the first time last week to a selected number of players as a reactivation exercise and the initial results seem to be good. This will also be an area we'll expand upon over the coming year.

Ok, onto the specific posts...
We have a license now, we're just waiting on the .ie site to be built. It's scheduled to go live in the next 45 days or so but we'll be announcing it properly in the run-up once we have a date confirmed.
I'm slightly confused, Unibet made a mistake at our end and added ourselves as the SWIFT receiver? There won't be anything shady but certainly sounds like an embarrassing mistake. Can you let me know if this is resolved now?
I'm sorry about this, the process for a new qualifier for UK Tour is far from ideal right now. For 2018 the events team will be helping us to ensure that all qualifiers are contacted in good time but that doesn't change the experience you had. Did you manage to get this resolved?
You'll have to head to the community site for requests like this:

What that man said. I'm hoping I'll have info for 2nd and 3rd stops to share soon.

We don't provide downloadable hand histories, not because we are scamming you but because we don't want people using HUDs at our site. It's probably safe to say that if you are losing 80% chances at any poker site, you're probably just running bad.
These look like they've been taken care of now.
Apologies, think we had some site-wide problems on Unibet's side.
We haven't had any sound issues on Windows machines for a long time, are you still experiencing this? I've asked devs to point me in the right direction but for now might be worth checking that your soundcard drivers are updated.
I'm not actually sure why the thread was closed
1) Great
2) I'm personally against a tournament changing format at this stage (call me old school, maybe I'm wrong). Interested to hear what others say.
3) This is a good compromise, I'll pass on to Leo.
4) Thanks for the feedback, passed on also.
5) I think we're going to another €50 Major on Sundays and possibly during the week but for now €250 would be too much of a push. We do have it in mind to add at some point but for now I think Leo has enough on his hands to maintain and optimise.
Glad to hear it was sorted but still curious about the SWIFT issues.
Will pass on the feedback, have you also mentioned this to Leo on the community site?
Yep, will take a look at PMs after I've posted this reply.
So a 6max MTT becoming 9max at FT?
If it's not interacting with our client then it should be fine.
Sure, will check and reply shortly.
This is the first time I've heard of this issue too. Have you reported on the community site and are you still experiencing this?
I'll pass this on, I wasn't aware of issues like this at the time of release.
Agree, this button placement has caused me issues when testing too. I think it's on a list of usability improvements which are being put into each release but will double check on our side.
Thanks for posting these.
This will change over time, the reality is that because Leo only started in October there hasn't been time to get MTT promotions or Series added to our roadmap for November and Dec (we usually require more leadtime for devs and communications teams). We will have an MTT Series early next year and Leo very much wants to add some MTT promos.
Tbh there isn't a good reason why they run in blocks like that, it's more of a legacy issue from having so much focus on cash game promos (where most of our revenue comes from). Ideally we start to offer something to all groups of players every month, that's what we're working towards.
I appreciate the need to play and be in bed at a reasonable hour for a lot of players, but speeding up MTTs in the later stages would probably get a lot of pushback from other players. As mentioned but other posters, most MTTs should allow you to finish up within 5 hours but you represent a crucial target demographic for us and if you're experiencing it as an issue then it's something we need to address. Will raise it as a potential issue here, not necessarily with the solution you proposed but perhaps a slight tweaking of the schedule with this issue in mind.
Sorry, you'll have to head here: https://www.unibetcommunity.com/t5/T...icket-exchange
Not right now but what kind of thing did you have in mind specifically?
Dammit, I'm 1/8th Scottish. Which promotion are you taking about specifically?
Quite simply, no. I think it would have been a design choice initially due to restricted space but that feedback has been posted fairly often in the last few months and I've raised it with the dev team. Will pass this on again, thanks. Players have modded the card backs in the past and there was no issue with that so I think you'll be fine if you want to make a change in your own files (waiting for confirmation on that though, this message may self-destruct in 5, 4, 3, 2....)
1) This would be nice to have but would take some work and is low on down on priority list atm.
2) Another issue is that we also only rake 1% at Banzai and as such can't often include it in promos and don't want to send the majority of cash game traffic there. It should be a fun short stack game to play as an alternative on the side but if players 8-tabled a 1% rake game then we'd prob have to close down the site pretty quickly.
I think Banzai Omaha will probably have to be removed from the client at some point as there isn't much demand for the game unfortunately.
One other concern is that a losing player will lose faster in a short handed game. One of the issue with NL800 and PL800 is that they often run 3 handed and the weaker player will often lose at a much faster rate, especially as the regs realise which player is weakest and start to avoid pots against each other. Heads up cash play will only increase that problem.
This should be fine but might be worth contacting customer support before you travel.
I imagine both of those would involve dev time that we don't have at the moment, my proposed solution in the shorter term would be for us to optimise the schedule so that we avoid more situations like this. This is underway but might take a little while longer to iron out these creases.
If you already have an account at Unibet then that is the account you are stuck with I'm afraid. Affiliates should bring traffic to a site that otherwise wouldn't make it there, rather than acting as a rakeback shop for all players already interested in playing on a site.
Was hoping to say hi in Bucharest and in the end hardly managed to speak to anyone I saw that we had a Canadian on the final table of the High Roller, was that you?
I'm lobbying for a UO in Canada, I don't think it will happen in 2018 but I'm going to keep banging on the door and it's a market we are looking to do more in for Poker.
You'll have to head here for this: https://www.unibetcommunity.com/t5/T...icket-exchange
The rules haven't changed, as SleazyP84 mentioned we don't allow players to transfer tickets from from sat system to another.
You'll have to head here: https://www.unibetcommunity.com/t5/T...icket-exchange
Sorry, you'll have to head here: https://www.unibetcommunity.com/t5/T...icket-exchange
Sorry about this, as mentioned above I think I may have underestimated my workload initially and thought I could reasonably post here more often. I'm hoping that I can keep up more regular posting in future but it may be that someone else from our team helps with some of the posting.
There aren't plans to increase the table limit any time soon I'm afraid, this will result in more players taking longer to act and slowing down the action for everyone on the site.
Playing higher stakes isn't a solution unfortunately because the global cap across cash game stakes is 10 tables.
No need to go to customer support for this one, I can categorically state that play from USA is not allowed on our site (sad face)
Thanks for the feedback, we still have the old structure in the system (I assume it is used here and there, so perhaps Leo can run some tests over the coming months to see how players respond.
I keep referencing Leo but just realised that not everybody will know who he is - Leo is the (relatively) new Tournament Manager at Unibet Poker. If you want to feed back to him directly on any matter involving MTTs then best thing to do is to head to https://www.unibetcommunity.com/t5/G...ker/bd-p/Poker
Thanks for the report
Apologies, I have a feeling this was because we did indeed run some large freerolls as part of our advent calendar promotion. We recently increased the player cap to 2,500 players but it may be that we need to go back down to 2,000 cap.

Wow. Just checked my messages, I got the message (I never knew there was a message service there) confirming I won the package on the 24th Oct. So, they messaged three days prior to unibet Brighton day 1A, which they automatically entered me for.
This is just ridiculous, the satellite doesn’t specify which event it’s for, I win a week before Brighton, get confirmed 3 days prior, and they tell me I’m auto entered using a message service that their customers don’t read.

What that man said. I'm hoping I'll have info for 2nd and 3rd stops to share soon.
Maybe I'm slow but I just noticed the Unibet MTT thread was closed. Why was that? Here's my thoughts on MTTs:
1) Really like the 10 euro satellites to the Supernova. They usually play nicely for just 1 prize rather than being the horrible ICM heavy events aimed at satellite specialists as before.
2) As I've posted before, I much prefer 6 max poker, but I think when there are 7, 8 or 9 people left in a tournament it makes much more sense to just seat them all together (note that if there are 2-6 or 10-12 people it makes no difference whether you say you are 6-max or 9-max). Last night in the Meteor there were 7 of us left, we were 3-handed and the other table was 4-handed. We busted someone and so the two of us actually played a hand of HU poker waiting for the other players to join us. Could we make it so that at some point the tournament flicks to being 9-max rather than 6-max? I would do this whenever 9 players remain (assuming late reg is also closed) but I note that a lot of live tournaments move to get everyone at the same table when 7 remain so that might be an easier sell.
3) If 2) is difficult programmatically, can current 6-max tournaments which rarely have >12 players competing at the same time (e.g. the Supernova satellites) be changed to be 9-max from now on. Just to make it clear I do much prefer 6-max, just specifically for the situation where there are 7, 8 or 9 people left I think getting them all round one 9-max table is better.
4) I didn't get chance to play the Spectrum tournament that I won a ticket for. I would ask for an extension but I think I've run well enough in the thread lotteries so that's ok. Thing is, I assume the reason you were giving out tickets was that it's overlaying and I just want to give feedback as an "old" that the problem might well be that registration for it closes before European children go to bed so there are lots of us who just can't play it, whatever the guarantee, even if you let us in for free.
5) How about a Sunday High Roller with registration closing at the same time as for the Supernova? Maybe a buy-in of something like $250, 10 minute levels?

1) Great
2) I'm personally against a tournament changing format at this stage (call me old school, maybe I'm wrong).

I posted in the mttc thread, but can you move the "fold to any bet" button a little bit to the left? It's currently in the middle where the call button is, it should clearly be on the left where the fold button will pop up. Now if you press it at the wrong time you end up misclick calling / limping when you were trying to autofold.
I realize this wouldn't be a problem 1-tabling but I've made accidental calls because of this even 4-tabling and it's pretty annoying, plus I'm often afraid to use the option at all when I have a bunch of tables and there's just 1-2 people left to act before me. Also even if you have 1 sec of internet lag the button's location is a recipe for disaster.
Thanks, loving everything else atm. No problems with the new update yet, knocking on wood!

There are reports on the community that this is happening too. I just updated mine and it worked ok but when it's happened in previous months the workaround has been to download the latest version from the website and update that way.

Posting out of self-interest for sure, but why are there two cash game promotions at the same time and no MTT promotions all December (based on that)? That's really really disappointing December is always a huge month for MTTs, so many people are on holidays and have time to play more. Maybe it's the same for cash games idk, but man I would have wanted to see just something for MTTers too (leaderboard or something like that). Running that in January instead (as I recall Andrew or someone possibly saying before) seems dumb given that it will overlap with TCOOP, Wseries, Party series, etc etc = no one will play it. But December would have been a really great month to get some serious MTT action going.
Don't mean to complain too much tho as the MTT sched is great as it is.

They tend to do them in blocks so it's a month with cash promos, month with MTT promos etc. Not sure why. I guess the main player pool is still cash so it makes more sense to hit that over the holidays ahead of the MTT guys while the new schedule is still fresh. The MTT promo will be all the overlay this weekend and next weekend with players away at live events and them possibly forgetting to adjust GTDs over the holidays
It may be the case that these are the easiest ones to run as well as it's a busy month with two live events and Christmas stuff.
Xmas bonus promo:-
"It will require to play 3 days in a row from mobile at the end of december. I'll post the link once the page is ready. It's a small promotion from 20th til 28th December. "
That's from Chris on the Community forum so no joy with that as an MTT thing either.

1. Make options to possible to select different layouts (table background) for Banzai and 100bb cash table
2. Increase the maximum number of tables played for Banzai to 4 or 8 tables.
The restriction of 2 tables is not convenient for players, diminishes the amount of play and deprives Unibet of additional profit.

Let any cash game start with two players. Either more will join them or they won't but nothing wrong with letting the game run.
If people want more Banzai action then add Banzai 100. Andrew said in the summer it was a possibility but it seems to have been forgotten about since then.

First hand of the fireball tournament today:
9.00+1.00 euro Fireball Tournament 30/60/4 2 players
BB (Hero) 5000
SB 5000 (unknown)
Hero dealt AK
Preflop (98)
SB raises to 5000 and is all in, Hero calls.
Villain reveals K8
Board: TJA - A - 4
Hero wins 100 euros and the title.
After showing my great skill and finesse in dodging the royal flush draw that was on the flop, I have changed my avatar to something appropriate to a true fireball champion.
@David - seriously, I like that the tournament started rather than being cancelled, but to stop this type of problem for you (not complaining for myself obviously), how about if the tournament still opens and a similar bit of code to the one you use on bubble that says "waiting for other tables to finish" just holds the action with a message like "waiting for a third player to join" whenever a tournament is playing 2-handed and late reg has not yet closed? Alternatively we could simply not award finishing positions until late reg is over, so in the above situation I would be sitting with a double stack waiting for more people to come and play - I know there are technical issues with the person who has just been knocked out being placed "2nd" - maybe the system should just put anyone out in late registration in 999th place or something.

Might not be the right place to ask but anyways...
I have a Unibet account that I set up over ten years ago that was attached to a rakeback affiliate whose no longer in the poker business. I would like to start playing on Unibet again but would want to get this account attached to another rakeback affiliate so I can partake in rake races etc. Is this something that Unibet allow?
Cheers!

I'm lobbying for a UO in Canada, I don't think it will happen in 2018 but I'm going to keep banging on the door and it's a market we are looking to do more in for Poker.
Sorry about this, as mentioned above I think I may have underestimated my workload initially and thought I could reasonably post here more often. I'm hoping that I can keep up more regular posting in future but it may be that someone else from our team helps with some of the posting.
Playing higher stakes isn't a solution unfortunately because the global cap across cash game stakes is 10 tables.
I actually like those flat sattie payouts. It gives you a good chance to have a multiple shots at a higher tier. The fact that you get you're buy-in back so quickly creates the effect that you're freerolling. (Although you have point for r/a ones, maybe the minimum payout should be 2 times the buyin ticket)
I agree to a certain point. The biggest issue I have with the blind structures is that these slow blind levels (like the 700/1400) were also implemented in the turbo MTT's. I get that when you play a slow or normal paced MTT, you also want the blind level transition to be smooth. But since I fit the profile in the quoted post, I play the turbo MTT's so it doesn't take up too much time and I still can enjoy a quick game.

Сheap dumping. Look at player stack nl4.

Does anybody know why the Community website is unavailable for people from the Netherlands?
I quite often see some promotions running over there and I would like to participate in them as well, besides it's more convenient for getting my Cash Game Results and tickets exchanged then emailing support.

FWIW this was the screenshot I sent, I offered to send a video too but they didn't seem to want it:
As we all know this went on for ~45 mins and getting back was impossible, after already getting infinite lag/multiple throwouts/lobbies not working/seeing hole cards from previous hand/etc etc completely ruining my previous 2,5 hours of runs. It is pretty tilting to be told that hey, you shouldn't play on other sites than us, but you know maybe we'll send you 5 euros for good measure.
Off the top of my head I had something like: 10-11x starting stack, 4x starting stack, 4x starting stack, 2x starting stack, starting stack, and one MTT I sat out completely from the start all gone to waste because of this. And I'm now being told after a series of emails that I "might" get a 5 euro compensation if your poker department is merciful enough to send a tournament ticket my way.
I fully realize this isn't your stance as a company and like I said I have a lot of faith in the fairness of your customer service/refunds policies vs. nearly any other site (Party seems good at this nowadays too). But even just receiving a response like that and having to spend infinite time explaining everything in detail over and over again to incompetent people who clearly haven't received any sort of information about the mass problems you had yesterday is super tilting, takes time, and most importantly affects your mental state negatively. Idk maybe I'm weak, but just getting a response like that makes me somewhat angry because even though I assume I get refunded adequately in the end just the thought of being offered 5 euros for 3-figure damages is really annoying.
Also as someone who's forced to deal with Finnish customer support only it would be sweet if there was a way to deal directly with an English support. I've asked them a bunch of times if there's a way to go around and deal directly with global support or whatever and I've never received an answer. I assume that in virtually any case global support would know better, and our support in a small country like Finland is always lagging behind when it comes to being up to date about anything (as witnessed above). I'm sure the Finnish support is generally more than competent and I don't mean to throw them under the bus, but it's just a fact that when it comes to poker which I assume isn't a very big priority to your company it's going to be hard to have a lot of poker specialists on your Finnish team. If I was able to address your global support (if there is one?) directly it would have saved a lot of time and mental energy as I assume I would've by now received a response stating that they are aware of the massive problems they had and that they'll refund within x timeframe.
Oops tl;dr, writing is therapeutic for me when I'm angry
edit: Obv it doesn't matter at all how long it takes to actually get refunds, I don't care if I get them in January, but just getting a response like "hey man, sorry we fkked up yesterday, you'll get refunds don't worry" would be nice, and even not responding at all and sending the query forward would be way better than this.
David,
As for a biggest winners board, can I suggest in relation to SNGs it be most SNGs won (both for HU and ring) over 100 games against different players (which would give a win percentage and avoid rewarding someone that kept beating the same guys, whether by collusion or not).
Such an "accomplishment" would be accessible to rec and grinder alike as all strive to get closest to 100%.
