How many others here have been screwed by the "Waiting List Freeze" problem that started on UB about 2 months ago? I'd say 7 times out of 10, when my name gets called on a wait list, the entire site freezes on me. The only way to get back is to go into the task manager and shut it down, reopen it, and sign in again. A ton of people have complained about it, and the customer support has been a joke. I have over 30 emails going back and forth with them from November 7th. In one of them, they promise that they have found the problem and will have it fixed that night. Two days later, with it still happening, they reply that this is the 1st they have heard of it, it must just be my computer. I send them a list of over 15 people who had it happen to them. They reply that they know about it and they're working on it. A week later, they insist they never heard of it before, it must be my computer.

Nothing better then flopping quad aces, getting reraised....and the friggin wait list pops up. It's cost me 2 huge pots so far, not to mention all the times I've forfeited blinds or bets I'd already committed. And then when you get signed back in, half the time you get attacked because it looks like you intentionally disconnected.

So has anyone here been a victim of this frustrating glitch?

personally, I just don't use them anymore because they freeze my computer pretty much every time.

I use the waiting list all the time and this has never happened to me before. I am kind of scared to use it now though. Please keep us updated on this situation, thanks.

UB just sends emails asking for more system information. I think they are trying to pass it off as an individual user problem when it obviously is a software problem on their end.

Yeah, I've gotten the system info request from them, about 30% of the time. Another 30%, they say they're working on it/found it/ The other 40%, they claim this is the 1st time it's been brought to their attention. Then when I copy & paste the emails they sent me apologizing and saying they're working on it.......I get the system info request email.

Without a doubt the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I'm a total sucker for still playing there, but I've had so much success I have a hard time leaving.

LateNite, some people it has never happened to, which is why they flip out accusing people of intentionally disconnecting, because it looks the same. I wouldn't worry if I were you, if it was gonna happen to you, it would have already. The people who it does affect, it happens to constantly.

Ultimate Bet has lost over $10,000 in rake just from me because of the wait list bug. I just ended up stopping playing there, after emails/waiting/nothing happened.

This makes no sense . . . I know, but, when this happens to me, I immediately hit alt-cntr-del to bring up the task manager. Then just close task manager . . . no longer frozen. Works for me every time.

This does happen to me once in awhile. I only play 3-4 tables, so it could definitely be worse for people playing more tables.

I've also lost a ton a pots due to this. From what I can tell, as long as the waiting list window is the first thing you click after it pops up your computer won't freeze. But if you happen to be clicking on a table right when it pops up you are screwed. Like placing a big river value bet with the nuts from the button only to freeze up and have the bet not go through and UB decides to fold your hand for you when time runs out. WTF!!!!???!?!?!?!?! Holy christ super tilt.

Ctrl-Alt-Del works for me sometimes but rarely. It is always fun to see the connection go in and out for like a second and UB is nice enough to post your blinds for you on the next hand even though you've timed out on all of the other tables. I think it takes around two minutes for everything to get back to normal, however long the waiting list window stays up.

Anyway, I asked in an email and they wanted every detail about my computer. I wouldn't even know where to look to find what they needed.

I don't know if this is right but it isn't senseless because I've seen this sort of miracle with other applications. Certain interprocess deadlocks in Windows XP will end if you hit cntl-alt-del to start the taskmgr. Unfortunately this could be a very personal remedy that only works for you.

I guess their solution is to treat every complaint as if it is the 1st one they received. I'm a complete donk when it comes to computers, I don't even know what 90% of the info they ask for means. I would figure it out, but it is obvious they are just giving everyone the runaround, and figuring all that stuff out would just be a giant waste of time for me.

This is just really just another scary sign of what the future holds for UB. With the Absolute stuff, you think they'd be going above and beyond to deal with customer support issues. Instead, it's like they want to run players off.

Well obviously send them a number.

I get the same, if you are typing/clicking elsewhere you get a freeze just when the WL pops up usually right when you don't want one. Also Vista here and i don't think CTRL ALT DEL helps but i will try again next time i play there.

I have had the same experience as tautomer. Ive only lost 1 big pot because of it, but it is so frustrating to have your computer freeze for 2 minutes or more that i almost never play there anymore.

The problem happens for me when I'm moving a window when the waiting list pops up.

The key to getting past it, is that it doesn't freeze ub... it only stops your mouse input. So when you get frozen,
1. hit "tab" to get to the radio buttons
2. use up/down arrow to select the radio button you want
3. hit enter to finish the waiting list window and your mouse input will then work again.

I fail to believe that is a fix b/c all my tables go completely black whenever it freezes

Maybe a different freeze then. Mine freezes when a waiting list option window pops up. And I lose the ability to use my mouse input for long enough that I time out on every table.

This is the situation I gave the solution/workaround for.

This freeze only happens to me when I'm moving a table on the screen right when the wait list pops up. It put me on major tilt also. I decided I can't arrange the tables until I have as many open as I want, then I remove my name from pending lists and go about my business.

It works for me also. I avoid the situation by not playing until all my tables are open. When I get the prompt to post my blind, I hit "sit out." Once all my tables are open, I go back and sit in at all the tables all at once. Do not move a table, because if you're in the middle of arranging the tables on the screen, the list will pop up and freeze you.

Sometimes I think about how easy it would be to make a billion dollars if I already had one billion. I would start up a pokersite and ewallet that would completely destroy every available option today.

Stars better watch out if I ever run good in their $5 000 000/$10 000 000 game.
