Has anyone else experienced a problem receiving an item from the Cake Shop? I purchased a laptop at the beginning of August and just keep getting the runaround from their support. I've stopped playing on Cake because of this and am just wondering if there's any hope I'll eventually receive it. Thanks.

I ordered 2 ipads and bose headphones 11/1. Order status has not changed almost 3 months later. Dunno what to do their email support keeps telling me it should be coming shortly but if your order was placed in August I'm losing hope.

here is the latest update I got after emailing them yet again:

Thank you for your email. I can assure you that you will of course get your order from the Cake Shop. That would never be an issue. All items are always delivered. Our supplier is just waiting for stock of certain electrical items to come in which has taken a lot longer than we all would have liked. We will be in touch as soon as we have an update.

My items always came from Amazon.com. I find it hard to believe Amazon.com would be out of popular items for long periods of time. If they changed suppliers obviously that supplier is terrible, it's time to go back to Amazon.

I ordered the travel bag and got it about a month later. This was about 2 months ago. Its the only thing ive ever ordered there.

it's pretty sad... because i've actually gotten TWO 50" plasma's from them, plus a bunch of little smaller stuff. it was around 9 months to a year ago though so...

at one point, i ordered a wii and they screwed me around for a month or so and finally said they were out of stock. i made it a point to advise them how i know how everything comes from amazon-ish stores, and that i could give them links to 5 places on there that currently had discounted ones. the customer service ignored this, and instead cancelled my order for the wii and refunded the gold chips.

other than that, the customer service has always been great. but it does suck that it sounds like the shop is beginning to fall apart... blah.

Wow, what did they say when you emailed them. Do they keep telling you it will be coming soon? That Geri woman keeps assuring me it will be coming. I was believing her but if you haven't got the same items from July then I guess I'm giving up hope. My points are worth almost $1300 so it's pretty much bs if I'm just not going to ever get the items.

Ugh between this and my players only fiasco I'm really starting to hate dealing with these sites.

I get an email about every three weeks from Geri apologizing for the unfortunate delay but that the supplier assures her that it will be in stock soon.

So I guess we are just not going to get our items? I'm not really sure what recourse there is. Anyone have any ideas?

I've ordered an LCD TV and a Wii and got both within weeks but that was over 6 months ago. I ordered an Ipad about 6 weeks ago and I doubt that I will get it. It seems like Cake has much greater concerns than sending out our cake shop items.

Reading through the thread on 2+2 there is some concerns I'm having. Here is the thread:

Several different posters have claimed they are still awaiting items from as far back as July 2010, which is completely ridiculous. Here are a few quotes from that thread:

And of course there is my own situation which I have been waiting for 3 months now.

I understand that you keep saying it should be soon but there are people saying they have been waiting for 7 months now for items from the cake shop.

There has to be some kind of resolution to this. Perhaps you can change suppliers back to Amazon or something. At the very least if the items are not going to come we should be refunded our chips and there should be some kind of freerolls held that we can buy into with our chips.

Please have someone from management resolve this issue. It's starting to cost cake players business, as who wants to play on a site that won't send out the rewards that were promised. And if someone from cake could post a response in that thread it would be greatly appreciated and would help the poker community feel a little better about cake.

i ordered 5 items back in September or so. Received the 4 small items but have yet to receive the Bose sound system.

well here is the reply I got back from Geri. It was actually a pretty fast reply considering I just sent that email a few hours earlier. However I'm not sure I can really believe it since others in the thread are saying they have been waiting since July/August/Sept

Thank you for your email. I completely understand your concerns and frustration. We are experiencing delays with our supplier and we're in constant contact with them trying to get on top of these delays. I will of course pass your comments on to management but I'm afraid it is a matter of waiting for our supplier to provide us with your tracking details. You will get the rest of your order.

I will make sure your account is compensated once you receive the rest of your items in light of the full extent of the delay.

I ordered a $50 Itunes gift card in October still haven't received it and they ignored my emails. Have received like 5 of these over the years there. Starting to worry about Cake :-(

Status of my ipods is still 'pending'. I sent an email to cake about it, and mentioned that people claim they are no longer receiving electronics. I also asked if they can refund my gold chips if they aren't going to ship the ipods (so at least I could play tourneys with the chips and try to make some cash). Here was their reply, pretty sure a form letter?

Thank you for your email. Delivery from the Cake Shop can take 10-12 weeks. There would never be an issue of us not honoring an order from the Cake Shop and if ever it was not possible to send you a particular item, we would of course refund you. Apple items are currently backordered so you may be waiting a few more weeks. I will be in touch as soon as I have an update. I'm sincerely sorry for the hassle and delay. I know it's not ideal and the delay is regretted. We are working to speed up orders from the Cake Shop in general so that you don't experience such delays in the future.
