It is entirely possible that they are in financial trouble, games have been drying up and they admitted that withdrawal fees were "too expensive" for them, which is a ridiculous statement for any poker site to make. ("With increase in Bitcoin usage the fee became a big expense. Some players made lots of withdrawals so we would pay the fee." here:

I am assuming, that number is going down recently.
Now, bitcoin had a recent spike in blockchain traffic due to mining hashrate effectively being halved following a power outage in China, that caused a "traffic jam" not unlike the Ever Given. That being said, this shouldn't affect deposits at all.
I would second your words of caution when it comes to SWC in recent months.
