There are a couple of new BTC sites coming soon, and maybe one of them will do better. If you're getting into cryptos you should be watching Bitcointalk anyway, so you'll see them.
Thanks I'll check it out.

Re: SWCPoker - Bitcoin poker

Quick question maybe someone can help me out:

I just realized i got a small refund from my play on SWC a while back. I processed a withdrawal about 36? hours ago. It has not been approved or processed. I sent an email about 6? hours ago to support asking about it. I have not received a response.

Anyone know how long these time frames have been typically re: withdrawals and/or email replies? I used to get fairly instant confirmation re: the former and fairly instant replies re: the latter... so this all seems a bit off to me.

Anyone have any thoughts? Thank you in advance.

Re: SWCPoker - Bitcoin poker

12 hrs: "would be sweet if it's here"

24 hrs: "ok ok it should be here now right?"

36 hrs: "hmm this seems a bit longer than usual. Maybe I should email support"

48 hrs: "this is a day and half longer than usual. I need to email support"

72 hrs: "I'm posting on 2p2 to see what's up"

That'd be my internal dialogue (and I've never gotten to 48 hrs). The site hasn't crashed or run off w our money.

The reason there have been 1-3 micro stakes games running on the whole site since I've been waiting for a game in the last 2 hrs, is bc of the high rake. They haven't taken the time (effort) to adjust for BTC price increases. Even HU 2/4 limit split-pot games have a rake cap of approx $4 lol. I played some 3 handed 15/30 2-7 td a few nights ago and the rake was $5/hand, which is beatable only because the stakes are big enough and we are getting tablestarter rb (which is one of their best ideas).

This problem is somewhat unique to the $4/8-$40/80 USD limit games, but has generally driven off a lot of regs and recs alike. Unless the games are high stakes where it inflicts a much smaller bb/100 toll, or the games are micros, where the recs don't mind rake as much and can feel more confident that the game will fill due to the lower barrier to entry, regs are not willing to battle hu at the midstakes any longer it appears.

Stars has a $1 rake cap at HU 200/400 limit and 50/100 limit ring has rake cap of $2. You can play 1k/2k and pay $3 iirc.

It's too bad because now that most poker players are familiar w BTC, all they have to do is adjust rake caps for BTC price and they make more money. It's not rocket science. Very high rake at some stakes = no games at those stakes. It's almost like they don't care enough to want the money, which tilts me. I really liked playing there and would like the games to return so they can make money and I can play more often.

Re: SWCPoker - Bitcoin poker

swc finally lowered the rake caps to less than $2 USD/hand (and we still get 50% tablestarter rakeback).

There were some former regs upset that swc had not properly adjusted rake to keep up w rising BTC prices. Well, I got this done:

Last night I emailed support, basically echoing the sentiments of my last post. This morning they emailed back and actually agreed that the rake caps were too high and then sent me a link to their new rake structure. All within about 12 hours!

We even got a 4c/8c ($15/30 USD) 12 game mix going tonight, though I lost as usual (still sitting at open table cuz I love the pain lol).

I hope this will bring some players back and add new players, especially now that most internet players are familiar w BTC, as opposed to when swcpoker.eu first opened in 2015. The new rake structure definitely makes the games beatable.

They stated that next on the agenda is upgrading the software so Macs and other platforms can be used.

Oops, I was watching that game for a while and if I'd noticed that I probably would have sat. Not that you guys are soft but it would be nice to play a bit. New rake structure.

Open the client and check at peak times. Nobody can answer your question bc you aren't specifying which games, formats, ring or hu, etc.

Re: SWCPoker - Bitcoin poker

I really gon't get why there isn't more action there...

Rake is the lowest on the internet, they have 50% table starter rakeback AND they handled the recent BCash perfectly (let plyrs claim their BCH), thereby proving they hold everyone's btc segregated...

PLease PM if you wanna start some games (NL, PLO, PLO5, from .25/.50 to 2/4)

Re: SWCPoker - Bitcoin poker

I'm no expert on what a fair rake is HU or otherwise or for NLHE or otherwise, but I'm pretty sure the problem isn't due to the rise of btc. If the rake is 2 chip max and the blinds are .25 and .50, whether or not this is beatable has to do with that ration of rake to the blinds. If the skill level is the same if you can beat it when a chip is worth a dollar you can beat it when the chip is worth ten dollars. That said, it probably is true that, given what is almost certainly a very steep and hard to beat rake HU (the 50% table starter and rb helps and if people join you might be OK) it would be true that people who are going to lose regardless, will not be able to stick around as they would otherwise.
My point is in terms of beatability it either is or isn't and that doesn't change when BTC changes.

Re: SWCPoker - Bitcoin poker

Your point is valid and my assertion wrt to BTC price affecting rake/attainable WR of games was meant to illustrate USD comparisons w other sites and really tangential to the main issue that was at hand - rake previously high enough that games were unbeatable in the long term.

But now that they've slashed the rake cap in half, midstakes mix games (approx. $8/16-$20/40 fix limit w the big bet games 1/4th the blinds) have been running more often and are beatable again. Just not by me in the last week or so lol

Re: SWCPoker - Bitcoin poker

I think I vote MacauBound for unofficial site rep. This guy gets things done. He's even on the troll swc bitcoin forum fighting the good fight.

I know if I ever have a problem with seals I'll prolly pm Macau first because whenever he sends an email to seals changes happen. Nice work!

You make really good points on the bitcointalk thread too but I'm not gonna sign up because it's basically a bunch of crybabies attacking seals. It;s enough of a battle being a fan here.

Re: SWCPoker - Bitcoin poker

Client has been unable to connect all morning. Just checked the web site and it's down too.

Anyone heard anything?

Found this twitter post from earlier today: "Currently experiencing an internet issue and the site is down. We are working on it and will have it restored within hours."

Hard to believe that nobody else has noticed the extended downtime.

Nothing to say?

The website is down but the client has been working fine for me. I've been continuously on for several days, not playing Chinese though because I figure if it crashes I won't be able to get back on.

Well, when I open the client there is a red OFFLINE button on the bottom left. Any attempt to log in gives no response.

Did they crap out and steal our BTC?

Everyone who keeps the client on is still on and playing. It's not gone, just the website/domain is hosed somehow.

They're also updating on Bitcointalk.

Yeah, they are posting there but they are not telling the truth. Site and client are still down.

Their last post from this morning.

Leaving your client running for days on end without logging out may be your solution, but it's not much good if you've already logged out.

I've been able to log in and out the whole time. Adjusting my anti-virus settings got me back in, which is same thing that it's always worked for me when this stuff happens. Still haven't gotten my weekly rb though.

Re: SWCPoker - Bitcoin poker

I don't use anti-virus because I only run Windows in a virtual machine. The OS is always a clean untainted image.

Anyway, I just fired up the client and they are finally back on line.

Just a current FYI, with BTC going over 5k, I made a decent withdrawal last night, was processed in just a couple hours. Fast and flawless as usual.

Re: SWCPoker - Bitcoin poker

There's some weird crap going on there. I withdrew all my chips last night.

If I play there again I'll only deposit enough for the session and then take it back out when I'm done.

Re: SWCPoker - Bitcoin poker

really tried to like this site but moved all my action off of here and back on to bovada cause something for sure for me was just off. I am a winner on this site as far as WD more then I deposited. There is no way the Random ring thing is random to me. Its like biggest running joke in chat that they are always messing and adjusting something and I feel like it rewards to much bad play for my liking. Went back to Bovada and haven't went back since.
