That's good advice in general.

I haven't seen a reason not to trust the new team, but with bitcoin you shouldn't - and don't have to - put too much trust in anyone.

It's so easy to move money, so you never need to have more on the site than would affect you if something went wrong.

Made a small deposit into my account last night. My wallet shows 51 confirmations of the transaction but nothing showed up in my SWC account. How long does it usually take, it's been over 12 hours?

Emailed support and they took care of it

Should only take 2 e-mail SWC. Make sure you used the correct deposit address.

I am very curious who the new is. What are the chances it's just some "rent an IT team" in India?

Do we know for sure that xdev and hdev are actually gone? The most logical person to hire would be the one who originally developed the software for grid poker.

If someone was involved in the operation of a site that was not licensed in the state of Nevada, and intended to also play in the WSOP, or even visit a casino in LV, it might be advantageous to
  • have someone announce that they had quit the operation
  • stop using any email address that might have been on a computer seized by the NGC
  • never bring a computer to Nevada

I can't figure out how to recover my old SWC username with its associated krill. The instructions don't make sense to me. I'm supposed to find a reset code in the PC client? Where?

All of this.

There really isn't a way to know for sure who did or did not transfer over from the old site. Especially if they were in the US, they obviously wouldn't want it to be publicly known yet.

But we do know that yes, they do have the guy that developed the original grid software.

I don't know if this is a good thread to ask, but is there a guide or some step-by-step advice for someone who is a complete bitcoin noob, but wants another option to play some poker in the US? I'm asking about the safest, preferred ways to turn my USD into currency for the site, and also cashing it back out into USD. There's just a huge entry barrier that's kind of intimidating for someone who doesn't know anything about bitcoin.

If someone could help push me in the right direction, or PM me with some links/info to get started, that'd be greatly appreciated.

Logical question. No one is born knowing this stuff. Standby...
  • create an account at swcpoker. no ID required. email address required
  • play freerolls
  • download a free Bitcoin wallet, Electrum or Multibit
  • look at localbitcoins.com for a dealer near you. pay cash
  • and/or sign up with ID and credit cards to buy bitcoins at at circle.com or coinbase.com
  • avoid sending Bitcoins directly to/from circle or coinbase, send to your wallet first, they like to avoid "gambling" sites, don't force them

after you do it, you will feel like a genius

Does anyone have a direct contact for the (old) Seals team other than the support email? We already contacted Micon and he just gave us the support email. We're not getting a response from support.

We have a stakee w/ a decent amount of BTC in his account. Stakee is incapacitated due to medical issues and can't access the account or his email. That's unlikely to change in the near future. We're happy to donate the BTC to his family, just don't want them to be lost with the site shutdown.

Definitely underestimated the effect the bet pot button would have on the games.

Best addition ever.

Can the family gain control of his email address by contacting the email provider? You can try h@sealswithclubs.eu, but like I said here, I don't see how can they can help you as things are now.

You will need someone in their family who has Power of Attorney. I had to go threw this with an in law. We needed access to email and other accounts. We had to wait to get the Power of Attorney papers finished before they would do anything.

But I realized that I should have written:

and/or sign up with ID and bank account to buy bitcoins at at circle.com or coinbase.com
