He did it in 6max hypers with almost no volume in 300s+, 95% 60s-200s. just 14 hours a day for 50 days which makes it even more sick then it already is.

Congrats Quadz. Playing that long over that many tables at such quality is ridiculous. Respect.

Would some of the current and soon-to-be SNE's here have any advice for someone considering relocating in a month or two (in US currently) and planning on making a possible late run for 2015/definite run for 2016 for SNE?

I realize there has been a lot of speculation about the changes coming in 2016 with very little in the way of actual details from Amaya, but I thought some people here with considerable experience like jdawg (congrats btw on killer 2015 start) and other perennial Elites might have a feel for the situation.

Thanks in advance for the words of wisdom, I've heard everything from the complete elimination of SNE (which personally I don't think is likely, but still a scary thought) to a gradual whittling away of value (which seems more likely, but to what degree ...). I've been out of online poker for a while so I'm not really sure what to believe, especially with casino games soon to be introduced and the rec players seeming to be of greatest focus now.

Cheers.

Thanks , though I've given some back the past cpl of days.

I'll give my 2c, think I've touched briefly on the subject somewhere here on 2p2 but idr offhand so can't link. Also obv depends on what you grind, I'll just be sharing the games I have knowledge on (6h+sngs obvs, although I know it's a long grind to get SNE 200zoom grinding and also know 500nl zoom is super tough)

Essentially I think anyone that isn't a SNE coming into 2015 is silly to go for it this year, except for some rare cases. This would usually entail some already 'good' HS player grinding HS Hypers, a like 600nl-2knl reg starting to grind 500zoom/put in more hands/volume to reach SNE, or something of this nature. But yea, not even taking into account the possible future changes/slashes to the VIP system (I agree that I don't think it will be gg but I feel there could be additional $ cutbacks in the future), imo most anyone who could/should/would be quite successful SNE grinding, is already an SNE.

It is always being said, but i think its more true now than ever before, the games are getting tougher. I think not having SNE RB for the entire year will make most SNE grinds quite torturous. My opinion is that ~half the regs that obtained SNE last yr did not win pre RB, and I've seen/heard many cases of players barely winning post RB. I also see that traffic continues to wither away at sngs, less and less 6m hypers are going off, and they are going off more regs/game than ever before. $60+ 9m turbo traffic is quite withered, 18s a tad better but 100s/200s don't go off much at all. 6m turbo traffic isn't much better, although there is obv a fair bit more volume there than at 9m/18m but it still isn't great. The games get painfully bad at the end of the year, especially in november and december, where guys are getting >100% effective RB in some cases finishing up a milestone or w/e (another reason not already having sne rb REALLY sucks).

But yea, essentially think in most cases it's not the best idea, but it depends on the person and situation ofc. I'll quit rambling, bc yea, I'm essentially just spewing off thoughts or remembering info from chats I've had in the past yr on the subject.

No no, by all means spew away, this is exactly the type of info I was hoping for - very useful to know the thought process of someone who's been grinding it out and therefore doesn't have any starry-eyed (pun intended) notions about the magical world of SNE - I would be walking away from other opportunities here in the States, so my top priority is to be realistic about such a major change in moving out of the country and immediately jumping into a mega-grind for poker.

Sorry I didn't mention my game, that was def an oversight on my part - I would be exclusively PLO, and I can hold my own with multi-tabling, so playing 6-8 tables of zoom starting with a mix of 4 PLO100/2PLO50, and moving up from there.

I'm properly bankrolled, so that's not really a concern, and I know what PLO is like - I def couldn't hang in your world, I'm wired for cash, much respect to you for being able to do sng's and the like - it would drive me nuts.

Thanks again for the input, I'm 100% open to and uber thankful for any advice as I'm right on the edge of making the decision and going ahead with the move, or alternatively heading to Vegas for a bit and waiting to see the potential SNE changes for 2016 while handling other business and getting some live grind and degen Vegas lifestyle

Moving out of the US to become a pro poker player would be highly questionable at this point. Moving only because of SNE would be downright foolish. If you're between jobs and looking for an adventure anyway, then go for it. Living abroad is a great experience. If you would be sacrificing any sort of career or future in the US, I would advise against it.

Given the impending overhaul of SNE, and the fact that you would be getting a really late start this year, isn't it an obvious choice to shoot for 2016?

Yea would agree with sly without a doubt. At least being a ploz grinder though youd have volume around the clock which would def be nice. I think being a cg player, esp plo, and doing what youre planning to do makes it such that its a much more fine choice to make compared to if you were say a 6m hyper player

Thanks everyone for the wellwishes

My run wasnt specific, it just kind of snowballed into being not poker minded in 2014 (1M is a joke for every hyper grinder) and just getting in a good start and going from there. I would have finished a week (or two) earlier easily if i didnt get the stomach flu early/mid february and/or the 60s spin and goes werent introduced yet.
