I'm sure not many people here even play on Sky poker but either way I'm just going to put some recent experiance with them on the public forum.

I was having issues with the software during an MTT session, I open the live chat to complain about the issue. The chat agent asks for my name, DOB, email etc. I give her this information and she tells me it's incorrect and that's not the name on the account. Well it absolutely is the correct name. She then demands I get her proof of who I am on the chat or my account will be suspended. I look around my room for something but can't find anything. I'm in the middle of a MTT session with no time bank so I can't get what she wants right now. She informs me it isn't really a choice and I'll be suspended if I don't find it. I sit out and go to get her what she needs. In trying to upload the document via live chat the window closes (because of an error in their upload system)

I go back into chat to try and sort this, and I get disconnected and I am totally unable to log back in.

I will summarise this next bit because it was lengthy-

But for 2-3 hours I spent trying to get back into live chat, speaking to 6-7 people. Chat agents would ignore me, the chat would just get ended randomly and I'd be at the back of the queue. I eventually get told to just go to bed because my account wouldn't be suspended until at least the morning and all my tournaments are basically over now anyway. All the games I was still registered to were just left to start and play and nothing was refunded.

I try to speak with chat about getting this refund but end up having to write an offical complaint. I get a message from someone who sounded like they were trying to help. They're my case handler at Sky and I'm told this will all be resolved soon.

It's been 7 weeks, my account is still locked. Every time I email I get told the invegtisation is still on going etc.

Honestly pretty dissapointed by how I've been treated by everyone at Sky poker.

Just thought any UK players who see this might be interested in how they're treating players now they've changed their ownership or whatever

So you were going back and forth with chat during a multi-table MTT session?

When was the account last active?

When a poker site treated me like that, it is very simple... try to unlock the account and withdraw the money and leave the site for good. tip: When you want good support+software try Unibet, if possible.

This seems like good advice. You should also receive fair compensation for the site shutting you down in the middle of the tournament - your remaining chips had some value, and they should give that value back to you.

At the end of the day, you shouldn't want to join a club that doesn't want to have you as a member. You wouldn't accept that from any part of your life (you wouldn't date someone who didn't like you romantically; you wouldn't eat at a restaurant that didn't want to serve you) so when a poker site tells you they don't want you, you should leave and find one that does.

The same support people, I suppose, even when Stars owned, as far as I read. Didn't see you playing or cancelling those tourneys, the 1st one included but didn't digest in your post either. Wrong name, weird, and I am not sure asking you those things in the chat for the matter is correct.

They have been up and running for many years and don't seem to bother too many players but I have experienced myself their support in the past (got insulted for having a number in my security name as a person's name can't have a number in it), and some guy here had some problems but can't remember (maybe bum hunted according to them at heads up and got banned from all their sites, including casino and sports if they have).

So, don't piss them off if possible, in case they are angry people, as I read about a case at another network who was banned as he was considered to be insulting when he said some word that wasn't even an insult.

were funds seized? I mean I believe any site should have the right to ban/refuse services to any player for any reason but they should not have the right to seize funds unless they can truly back up their case. Any business should have the right to refuse custom but not to steal peoples money.

I'm confident you're clever enough to know the answer to this, so why don't you just share what your actual point is?

Try contacting Tony Kendall (Tikay) via the Sky Poker Forum. He may be able to help.

You're there.

Seriously though, what does it matter if he was multi-tabling? It doesn't seem unreasonable to let them know there are issues, in case it crashes mid-tournament. Easy to say in hindsight that he should have foreseen this possibility, but I'm not so sure that many people would expect to go through a rigorous identification process when raising an issue about an ongoing tournament.

Multi accounting is pretty serious I mean we should take such an issue to the specifics. Eg if someone is multi accounting they can play me from one account get a few reads of me etc, normally I find I am bumping into the same regs time and time again, they adapt to me and successfully make plays at me then I adapt to them and then they adapt to me and then I adapt to that etc etc that is poker.

However if someone can multi account they can catch me of guard with notes and I have no idea they have those notes.

You could say on the Ipoker network with multiple skins this can happen but we know that possibility and accept those rules when we play there. on a site that does not allow multi accounting breaking that rule allows an unfair advantage.

Further Sky does not allow Hud so someone using hud there would have an unfair advantage where as this would not be an issue on stars.

so multi accounting is a reason to ban and seize funds and is justified if they can prove it.

Now if they had an account which was 7 years old they lost the login details and remade an account 7 years later would seem a bit silly to ban and seize funds but the rules are the rules.

That is all true, but is totally off topic for this thread. Please do not post off topic in any thread, but particularly in important threads.

Thank you.

This issue was supposed to be a quick one, Sky live chat is usually pretty good for stuff like this. I removed all my funds on the day because they reopened my account before it was reclosed by my "complaints handler"

Without some real compensation for this I'll likely just not play on there again. Might start playing unibet again, not played there for a few months

What's your sn there? You can pm if you prefer.

If you use the sky poker forum you will get the ball rolling pretty much instantly I assure you. Obv there is a naming error somewhere their end and because you don't pass security procedure they have to suspend you. Industry standard.

You can pm tikay on the forum or start a thread. I'm presuming you were unaware they had a forum otherwise you wouldn't be making this thread here? Copy pasta this over there.

I have had a reply. Final conclusion;

£50 refund for 2x MTTs (I was playing a full screen and also was regged into later games)
Account banned for life

Apparently I had spelt my surname wrong, even though I retyped it many times.

NO PROOF is currently provided of that chat even though it has been requested.

My complaint has now gone to the gambling commission unfortunately and I've requsted the details for Sky's ADR since that's who I have to complain to next

They banned you for life for spelling your name wrong? There must be more to the story.

Maybe you can open an account without the name spelled correctly and everything will be fine?
