So, some sites don't worry too much about bots because they have bigger problems.

My guesses

Insolvency
Unsafe rng / seeing hole cards, somehow
ddos and virus's

few other ones too, this is just off the top of my head

If they don't spread from nlh2 to nlh200, you have little to worry about.

Hi guys are you still working on bot detection?
You mentioned that you assume that even players that study poker together will have different stats. I praxtice poker with my best friend. We play nl50 on stars zoom. Both of us have around 5bb/100 winrates. We both use identical preflop charts and adjust to different opponents in similar way. Our preflop stats look almost identical after 200k hands sample. Postflop we create ranges using same set of rules. E.g check top pair weak kicker and midpairs vs agro opponent etc which also makes our stats very similar. The biggest difference is that my friend likes to call 3rd barrel more lighter than i do so our river fold vs 3rd barrel is different by 15%.

I am wondering if your software would detect us as bots? Or at least as suspicious? There are many coaching schools nowadays that coach students the same strategy so i assume that such players would have very similar stats, lines, bet sizes. Off course there are always some differences but what if bots would change preflop charts and postflop frequencies, bet sizes for each account so i assume your software would fail?

Since pokerstars removed rakeback i tried playing on party poker, ipoker, microgaming and tried different stakes. To me it looked like full of bots so i play again on stars where it looks like playing vs humans. It looks to me that either your software is not used at those sites or your software fails to detect bots.

Hello,

We shifted our focus significantly, as bot detection alone proved to be too niche service with limited demand. Not to mention we have less resources available as opposed to internal integrity teams.

We should OKAY it for site operators, when finding bots, completely confiscate the money for the site to keep. That would HEAVILY incentive operators to find and remove bots.

Giving back a $17 refund to tons of players doesn't give as much incentive as the site just keeping the money.

Of course the site should have a open way to determining what is bot behavior, and a process for players to prove they aren't bots.

The confiscated bot money can be used to deter botting and pay guys like this company.

The only real problem I see is, bots disappear and then operators just start accusing legit players of botting. That would be a nice problem to have where the bots are gone

This would be terrible idea. It would HEAVILY influence sites who are on the fence about whether it’s a bot or not to favor one side
